This was my first visit to a Mimi's. Unfortunately not a good one. My friends usually go to Mimi's in Reno and were telling me how great the food was. The first thing that happened was the waitress, who must have had a bad day. She needed an attitude adjustment! Then my friend's coffee arrived and it was cold. THEN when their Salt and Pepper Skewers arrived their scallops were cold! Both the coffee and the entrees were removed and eventually replaced but the experience didn't make us want to go back. My girls and I just went here with their grandma last week, for dinner. This is our go to place with the kids. I always get the fried chicken salad, mmm. It's got buffalo wing sauce and ranch dressing on it, and it comes with a delicious muffin. Our server was so sweet this time. She was very attentive and up on the refills. read more

It has been a few years since we visited a Mimi's Cafe. After our visit the other evening, we most like will not return. Saturday evening at 7pm and the place was empty. Why is that we asked? The service was friendly and efficient, but the food was really sub-par. Mimi's used to have excellent quality at a fair price. The price hasn't changed much, but the quality is way down. I had the pot roast. The piece of meat came from a cookie cutter - perfectly round. The gravy was from a can or at least tasted like it. The vegetables had been overcooked and set under a heat lamp. When having lunch at Mimi's in Folsom a group came in with a DOG in a stroller, the DOG was taken out the stroller and was held in the arms of one of the people, can you say DOG hair flying in the food of other customers. If that was not bad enough the DOG licked and smelled the table. These are not service DOGS, service DOGS are trained to seat on the floor. I immediately told the manager and because the DOG had a vest, which can be purchased online by anyone she was unable to ask them to leave but ask them to move because the stroller was blocking the walk way. After the group was moved the manager came and apologized and explained that because the DOG had a vest she could not ask the group to leave. I told her that the waitress did not clean the table after the group left and the DOG had be allowed to lick and smell the table top. The manager ask the waitress to please clean the table. The waitress was very angry and because she knew I had said something to the manager the waitress positioned her REAR END in my face over my food to assist the table next to us. The waitress is a heavy set women, squeezed herself in this small area between the tables as to say KISS MY A_ _. I was in SHOCK I did not finish eating, this waitress should not be a person working with food and the public I ask her name and was told Terry R. Not good. Waited to be seated even tho we had a reservation. Once seated waited and waited to be acknowledged and offered water. . It was not even busy. Busboys, servers, hostess and the manager were walking right past us, only looking in the direction they were headed so I couldn't get their attention. We finally got attention because I waved my menu at the manager who happened to be looking from the kitchen. The food had no flavor, the fries were cold and stale. The server was nice enough but the whole experience was disappointing. We will never return. I hope Mimi's is able to turn things around for others who spend their hard earned money and expect a good dining experience. I dont know why there are any bad reviews on Mimi's on Bidwell, we have been there about 8 times and it was always great! We got a free 4 pack of muffins the first time we visited. What's wrong with FREE? My only complaint is that they took their BBQ ribs off the menu. They were so good. Atmosphere is good, a little noisy when busy but I figure, the more full a restaurant is, the better chances are it's going to be good food! read more

Went here with my 2 brothers, 1 girlfriend , and my father who works all week. We waited for 23 minutes and then i noticed that 1 waitress was running around serving basically every table in our section. She had no help what so ever. I give her 5 stars and Illl give management a 1 star. I know were in tough times but schedule more employees poor girl was running around busy. Our food came out after 1 hr and 2 plates were a bit cold . The waitress fixed it and was nice enough to take off both the entrees and give us muffins WAHOOO. Took family here from out of town for dinner tonight. Great waitress... But immediately noticed portions had changed on both the pot roast and famous turkey dinner. The pot roast looked like a very small piece of meat little savory gravy and small serving of the augratin potatoes. The turkey dinner was also lacking portion size. There was a huge amount of potatoes very little Turkey and hardly any gravy. The chicken pot pie was good. I had the mushroom brie hamburger that is new to their menu. I just had the worst take out experience of my life with this place. First of all our order wasn't ready at the time they gave us. (Ok I get it it that's fine) second time going inside our order was "just getting started" third time in and they "never received our order" so we brought the receipt and they said "oh it's just getting finished, sometimes the kitchen doesn't receive the online orders" hmmm ok.. 40 minutes after the 1030 pick up time we finally get our food and my eggs are not correct my wife's sandwich had tons of Mayo after requesting to not have any on it. The bacon is half way cooked and my French toast tastes like half baked mushy bread. Management was also very rude telling us we never placed an order until we showed the receipt then her whole attitude changed to very nice and apologetic. Overall the worst take out Experience I've had in my life. Not to mention it's almost 40 dollars for a simple breakfast. Never going back to Mimi's Cafe read more

I ate there for lunch today with some coworkers. I ordered the chicken pasta and a blueberry muffin. I really like the large quantity of the muffin and it tasted good. I also ordered the house coffee which tasted good. The service was ok. They were not busy but she didn't come to the table but to bring the food and bill. Also, I thought the lunch prices were good and there was plenty of food to take home for a second meal. This places sucks and is way over priced!!! $40.00 for 2 iced teas and two club sandwiches that weren't even anything special. The fries were cold, soggy, and saturated with grease!!! Sooooo unappetizing! We also ordered a size salad that had a yucky ranch like dressing and greens that were very soft and almost mushy. Will not be going there again. Waste of money. The service was alright considering the food, but as a customer, feeling as though you are burdening your waiter when asking for additional items or needing something is just down right wrong. The food is pretty standard... Sandwiches, salads, soups, and some steak/ fish options but nothing too far out of the box. They have added a new all-hour "happy hour" with $5 wines which is cool. The service is not bad but today they made a few mistakes on our pretty simple meal. I'm not crazy about the environment but the location is convenient if you're out shopping in Folsom. I would up here for lunch because I was meeting my grandparents and wanted to eat somewhere that we could sit down and was quiet. I think you get what you're expecting ... This is one of those always under rated eateries that has plenty of comfort food that comes close to home cooking. I like this place because the subdued lighting and large nicely spaced booths makes a casual dinner just that...not rushed. Waiters are in constant motion and refills whether coffee or soft drinks are always there when you need them. They have a new menu which retains some of the quiche selections... Went there for Thanksgiving with reservations waited in line got sit down to the table and we sat for 15 to 20 minutes before anybody came to us with anything. My son went to the bar to get our drinks before the waitress even came to the table. Good food, horrible service, and some cold served soup and she didn't even care about it. I went to Mimi's for dinner the other day. Missing a loved one. Brought back old memories that made me smile. We used to eat there all the time. Staff was incredible, very friendly and my server was awesome. Food was brought in a timely manner and still Hot, not to mention they have a Scrumptious New Menu!. The coolest part is I put an application in last week and I am hoping I get to work with their TEAM. It would be great. You have to try their Crispy Parmesan Crusted Chicken... Pancakes were cold, my wifes eggs were cooked on the same grill after the cook had cooked something else on it. The eggs were brownish and greasy. Service was friendly, but not always attentive. They no longer bring you bread automatically. read more

First time at this chain. I ordered the make your own trio thing. French onion soup...not awful, but not reduced enough, watery. Some thing that they called a west coast reuben? Turkey..a sad piece of ham and some bland cole slaw...wtf is that? Not a reuben. And some fries that were over cooked...slightly stale, luke warm, obviously cooked in old oil annnnnnnnnnd underneath them was A PIECE OF CHEWING GUM....chewed...stuck to the plate...I don't believe I'll ever revisit this sad excuse of a restaurant again. Soooo good! Came here with my mom for some breakfast and enjoyed it so much. I got the French toast with eggs and bacon and was full for the rest of the day! It was so delicious and filling. I don't usually like scrambled eggs but this place I liked there eggs shockingly. Their blueberry muffin was also very good and I don't even like blueberries but this one I ate. The staff is very accommodating and helpful as to what is good and what isn't, although everything is good. Like I said my mom and I came for breakfast and you don't usually get bread with your breakfast but we just asked the staff for some and they were happy to give it to us. Very kind! Our waitress was also very heart warming, I had just come from somewhere formal so I had makeup on and I felt weird. Going there she kept complimenting me and saying how nice I looked and I didn't feel so weird anymore. Just an overall nice evniorment and very clean including the bathrooms. Service was good except for the fact that the food was absolutely terrible. My friend ordered a Cobb salad but somehow bits and pieces of cashews ended up in it. Also, the meatloaf and mash potatoes was overly salty and the gravy seemed so packaged. The food was overly seasoned and besides the bread, this place sucked. Saturday night at 6 pm got sat right away by a host who seemed like a functional stoner which was fine. Spencer took good care of the two of us. Ordered the Parmesan chicken guacamole sandwich. It was pretty much just a guacamole sandwich. The little chicken that was on there was not very Parmesan-y. Ended up scraping almost all of the guacamole off because it made the bread very soggy Fries were delicious. When we left there were a lot of open tables and a lot of people waiting; however, I noticed there was only one busser. Having worked in a restaurant I understood. No matter our choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner, their food is very tasty and filling. I love their muffins and traditional American plates. Last night, my friend and I arrived at the restaurant 1 1/2 hours prior to a performance at the Harris Performing Arts Center. The restaurant is less than 10 minutes from the theater so it seemed to be a good restaurant choice. There were a number of vacant tables and we appreciated being seated within a reasonable time while others seemed to be waiting a long time. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks & food to be served although we nicely reminded the pleasant, but disorganized service staff a few times that we had a show to catch. The manager appeared to be giving instructions but seemed to be more disorganized than the employees. Needless to say, we only had time to eat a few bites before catching a Lyft ride to the theater. We had to carry the remainder of our dinners to the theater where we left them in coat check. Those left-overs tasted pretty good today but would have preferred eating my dinner last night! read more
