The bread was outstanding but they relied on a ton of salt to get the taste... The physical facility could use a upgrade... The ceiling tiles above the heads of the guests look like they either have fallen or are about to fall... All that can be forgiven in an Italian restaurant... The one unforgivable sin is to not have a good red sauce... They do not have a good red sauce... I asked a server where they get their sauce, expecting to hear they get it from a can... He told me, sadly, that that is their original recipe... So what's wrong with it? It relies on an enormous amount of salt, globs of cheese on top to hide its vacant flavor... The food was good however the service was lacking. Our waiter disappeared after taking our order and someone else delivered our order. We never saw anyone until I called out to a waitress to ask for the bill. Our original waiter was working on the other side of the restaurant. No one ever told us that our server had changed. I dropped on in for a weekday breakfast with a family member. I never dined here during the week and it has been well over five years since I was last here. Overall I was pleasantly surprised, the food was pretty darn good for diner fare and the service was fantastic! So kudos to the front and back of the house! Our server was great. He was attentive and efficient. Great attitude. I think his name was Alexx. The food came out quick and hot. The pancakes smelled like warm vanilla. They tasted great. Fluffy and buttery. You betcha that I added more butter. I passed on the syrup though. The pancakes were hefty sized, about 8 inches. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly, no raw whites and a nice cooked runny yolk when pierced. The bacon was cooked thoroughly and evenly. Crisp without being burnt. The sausage had a casing. The hash brown had a crisp exterior. I ordered the manager breakfast plate of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 4 pieces of meat (which I choose 2 bacon and 2 sausages), and hash browns for $9.99. Service is very slow. most of the servers seem to disappear and then I have to go looking for them if I want something. We've been here 3 times now, and the first time we had to wait 20 minutes to order, and then after we ordered, it was another 20 minutes before we got the food. Pretty slow in my opinion. The second time the server was on the ball, came by often to check to see if we needed anything, she was just great. But then today, the service was not only slow and the server didn't come by to check on us, but when we returned from the bathroom, they had started clearing the table stacking dishes (with our food still on them) ~ even though we had not finished our meal yet. The young girl bussing the tables actually said to me, "oh, do you still want to finish your meal?" Oh do you mean the meal that is now buried under dirty napkins and dishes? A completely clueless question. Not to be mean, but come on use some common sense. Why would I still want that food that now has dirty napkins piled on top. And then when the waiter saw what happened, he actually said the same thing, "do you still want to finish your food?" Un-fracking believable. I am usually a very big dennys enjoyer however I will not bring my business here again! My girlfriend and I came here early this morning for what seemed a simple easy breakfast, turns out we got the biggest plot twist of all. we ordered a grand slamwich meal and strawberry french toast meal. My girlfriend noticed that her french toast was raw in the middle. As we let our server know she had the worst attitude towards us and said "Okay fine we will remake it". Damn straight you will I am paying for that as the customer! I hear her admit that it is undercooked and gooey and my girlfriend started panicking because you CAN get sick from eating raw french toast. Thankfully another younger girl server came over and boxed it for us and was super kind and left the check. To my surprise they didn't even compensate us or simply didn't even remove the french toast from our check. I went up front to pay because we wanted to get out of here because have lost our appetites. I went to go pay and the man up front noticed something was wrong, I explained the whole story and he let out a huge sigh, went over to talk to the other server previous ( the one that got mad at me in the first place for pointing out that the french was raw which by the way I CAN DO BECAUSE I AM PAYING FOR IT) and talked for a bit and then came back to only SURPRISE SURPRISE take off 5 DOLLARS from our 50 DOLLAR MEAL! I mean... it's Denny's... so not five stars good but dependable Denny's. Open when so many people in town aren't. If you are craving something they might likely have it... they have a few family favorites that you know you are going to enjoy and typically get them done the Denny's way. You may have to wait a little bit but know that you will get the food you are looking for if you know Denny's well enough. It's a busy night related to local HS graduation, but they seemed prepared with three wait staff on duty. Hopefully there is that many cooks... Tonight Moons over Myhammy is always a family favorite. Understaffed - I saw two waitresses on a Sunday afternoon lunch time when several churches are letting out. There were 6 of us and once seated we waited and waited and waited some more for Lilly to come over and take our order. Again, not her fault. Understaffed. After we ordered we waited over a half hour to get our food. When it finally came, it was cold, but I ate it anyway and didn't say anything. We never received refills of coffee or water. Not Lilly's fault. Understaffed. 2. Quality control - bathrooms were not clean, out of toilet paper in one of the two stalls and only one soap dispenser working. English muffin was burnt and was drowned in something yellow and was inedible. I did mention this to to waitress in an effort to help them out with future patrons. She said they always do the muffins that way unless you ask for it on the side. I LOVE butter and had it been butter or actually something that tasted like it I would have had no problem. Please use real butter or something that tastes good on your English muffins. 3. Please listen to your customers. I know it's Denny's and not a 5 star restaurant but still, we are human and not just a number that comes through the door. Listen, respond and make it right. Walking into this Denny's felt like walking into a dare I didn't agree to. The waiters were fine and honestly deserve hazard pay for surviving this place, but everything else was a disaster movie. The smell hit me so hard I almost turned around, and somehow it got worse when I went near the bathroom. I have been in gas station bathrooms at 2 a.m. that smelled cleaner. The food was a whole new kind of bad. The hamburger was passable in the way a flat tire is "passable." The steak was chewy and fought back like it was auditioning for a role in an action film. The broccoli was boiled into an unrecognizable green mush, and the macaroni tasted like oily water that once met a piece of cheese in passing. The chicken tenders were all crust with a trace of chicken, and the fries were so lifeless they could have been used as movie props. This was not dinner. If you have been to Denny's you know it's not a five star restaurant,but the food is usually yummy..I stopped here on the way home from a trip to the snow..We walked in and were greeted after a few minutes..There were literally two people eating..After we were seated our waitress broke us a couple menus and then disappeared..Like what ..I saw one texting and laughing at here phone..After finally saying can we get help she huffed and took our drink orders and then dissatisfied again ten minutes later we got our drinks and were ready to order we ordered appetizers and two meals..Then waited near 15 minutes before she came and refilled our drinks ..Then they went outside...lol..This place seemed kind of sketchy.., brought out our food 25 minutes later and forgot my wife's salad..So they took that off the bill..Our waitress came back pist talking about another customer the food was warm at best...the taste was terrible we paid and left..I would of been happier at a drive thru for food taste and service..I do not recommend eating here and I have never said that about any restaurant ever..I didn't take pictures of the food , because I was upset and let down,but it looked nothing like the pictures...Hope everyone else has a better experience.. read more

Denny's is an easy and convenient dining stop whenever you are on a road-trip, but even as just a regular breakfast/dining place in the case of this particular Denny's location. This Denny's is 5 stars worthy. Since we relocated to El Dorado County a few years ago, we have dined at this Denny's regularly as we have found it 1) clean, fresh and updated in appearance both exterior and interior, 2) service is friendly, prompt and efficient, and 3) the food has always been dependable and consistent in quality, ingredients and taste. The General Manager Bernard especially stands out in our opinion - each time we have dined there he has always been friendly and courteous, and he doesn't hesitate to assist in any area of the restaurant that needs it (tables, cashier, kitchen). In our latest dining experience there, he was helping in the kitchen as they were a cook short and the restaurant was bustling with customers. We also had a wonderful experience being taken care of at our table by Curtiss. "High Five" to this Denny's! read more

The food is just inedible. Everything is fried on the same griddle and everything arrives greasy. I've tried ordering different things to find something that doesn't upset my stomach, but I can't. It's just bad food. Contrary to what other people are saying, I've had no trouble with the service. The people are very nice and attentive. But no one should eat this stuff. read more

We have ate here a couple times and have never had problems with the food, prices, cleanliness or service...besides it's a Denny's so we aren't expecting fine dining standards However, a couple weeks ago we went in for breakfast and there was a new guy working (or at least I think he is new) and he was one of the best waiters I have ever had. Didn't get his name but he has a beard and he was very happy, great attitude and was really enjoying his day! I work in the food and beverage industry and you can tell when someone is going above and beyond to make sure customer service is a priority to them. INFESTED My once beloved 5-star experience from Denny's has become an atrocity'. This establishment is RAN down. These people cannot get a to go order 100% right to save their lives. I don't expect much from them. It IS Denny's after all, but if they were open for dine in business right now, would they get so many dine in orders wrong?! Since covid I started ordering delivery from there. I have ordered about 8 times. 6 had issues. Wrong gravy, wrong egg cook, no cheese in my egg, no strawberries on the cheesecake, no caramel for pancakes, you name it, they're doing it wrong. I ordered twice in one day last week and BOTH orders were wrong!! Oh, their fish is VERY overcooked btw. So are their vegetables for that matter. I have them two stars because their ice cream is good. Get your crap together. Just because people aren't dining in right now doesn't mean you can be careless with take out orders. We're still paying for this food! UPDATE: I gave them 2 stars but have now updated to 1 star because they put my food in the bag sideways so it all ran to one side in my container. They refunded me 5 days ago and it's not hit my acct yet. Tonight they were out of fish. Now I have to wait another 5 days or so for another refund from online ordering. They don't care!! read more
