This place was recommended by one of my foodie friends. She said they have a great duck dish. I love duck. I took one of my other friend for her Birthday here. I made reservations for three of us but when I got there , it was not busy at all and I would of been fine with out the reservation. My friend was already there and had our table. The place was nice looking and had a lot of people at the bar. We ordered drinks , which were fine. My wife started off with a Caesar salad but it didn't have any flavor pretty bland. Her and my friend both got the salmon and it was good. They didn't have the duck that day. SO disappointed . I got the lamb and it was really good. We ended up getting the Beignets for dessert. They were just ok. Nothing really special. The place was ok and I will come again and hope the duck is on the specials.

Plan B is a gem of a restaurant in an unexpected spot in Sacramento. The ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely stunning with dimmed lighting and a modern cabin look. Our server Mark was knowledge of the menu, so kind, and funny. He had impeccable service with a smile. Lastly, the food was delicious. After I mentioned how much I loved veggies, they let us do double veggies instead of mashed potatoes. The salmon and veggies featured is a half portion as I split it with my date. I don't eat a ton and this was the perfect portion for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

Plan B is a hidden gem in Arden. I have been dining here for about 6-7 years. Excellent food and friendliest service in an intimate setting.

Loudness: 93 decibels (the same as being 50' away from a jack hammer). 6:45 Saturday night reservation. All tables and bar stools full. I made the reservation on OpenTable and explained that my dining companion wears hearing aids, so we require a booth instead of being at a table in the middle of the room. Our request was honored, and we had a cozy booth. The meal for two came to $270 (with tip). We ordered a bottle of champagne, an appetizer of escargot, entree of quail stuffed with foie gras and New York steak. For dessert we shared a pear tarte. Every bite was delicious and servings were beautifully plated. Service was good - our server guided us through the menu and was attentive at all of the right times.

Cozy medium sized French place with good service. Great place to sip wine enjoy a leisurely dinner and unwind. The menu is not huge but it is well executed. I enjoyed the French Onion soup and their award winning burger. We also had a escargot to share. Our food was delicious and fresh. My only complaint would be more sauce for the burger and perhaps something to dip the fries in. At $11 for soup and $20 for the burger probably not your everyday spot but definitely a every now and then one.

It was good, service was great. I didn't love the French onion soup but everyone else loved their food. It was very noisy. We would go back for the food but not if you plan on having any meaningful conversation.

Went here for our anniversary dinner and really enjoyed it! Our waiter was very knowledgable of the menu and also made an amazing espresso martini. We went the minute it opened so it wasn't too loud and we did not have to wait too long for food. It is very small inside so I would recommend making a reservation to avoiding waiting. The only thing I wasn't too fond of how much sauce there was on the steak but next time i would just ask for it on the side. It was a bit pricey for the portion sizes but I would definitely go here again.

The food was superb. We had salmon, prawns and vegetarian arrabbiata. Most served with asparagus and mashed potatoes, very artfully arranged. Sorry I didn't get photos of those, but I did of the desserts. They were awesome--a very nice selection to choose from. One of my companions said he'd never had a bad meal here. Nice selection of wines, too, of course, and very attentive service.

This place makes you feel at home and like you're amongst family. Great wine selection and the food is always phenomenal. The ambience is pleasant, despite always being busy (with good reason). The owner and staff are always welcoming and make sure you are happy with your experience.

We went here on a whim, as we were on Sacramento's K street for a stage performance and the iMax,…read moreand spotted this between events. I am by no means a judge of French cuisine, so I cannot tell if this is truly representative or not, but we did sample a number of small plates and enjoyed it quite a bit. We did a full meal of fresh bread, French onion soup, a vegetable plate, an Ahi salad and their take on meatballs in a cream type sauce. THE PROS: The ambiance inside was quite nice, but we had lovely evening weather and dined outside on the patio. The fresh bread was delicious and the Onion soup was exactly what you want, rich flavor of caramelized onion with plenty of cheese. The meatballs with Gruyère, Dijon, shallots and crème was full of flavor. My wife's cocktail of gin lemon and blackberry liqueur was so good I going to try and make it at home! THE CONS: Please know these Cons are not reflective of the quality or flavors. In fact this may be the proper French way - but for us these few tweaks would have made a difference. The "Legume Grilleés" first listed ingredient was broccolini, but there was only one piece on the whole plate. The flavors were all there, and squeezing some juice from the grilled lemon gave the dish a great acidic brightness, The same goes for the Dukkah, which is a topping of toasted sesame, coriander hazelnut and cumin- but all we had was the sesame and could find none of those other spice notes. For the "Salade Niçoise" I would have liked the Ahi on the salad to really have been seared till golden, not gray. It was fresh but we've had so much good Ahi in the past, that this version left me a bit underwhelmed. The serving size itself was quite large, in fact they had split the order for us in the kitchen and I thought we had gotten two full orders! And as with the Dukkah, I expected more flavor from the salad's Dijon Vinaigrette. BOTTOM LINE: Yes we will go again. The experience overall was quite enjoyable, and there is enough variety to try something new. Sacramento's K street has had so many ups and downs it is great to have a place like Brasserie there. Each small plate ran between $12-$25. Our 5 items plus the cocktail came in right at $100, and we both left happy and hunger satisfied. RATING: 8/10

However, when we arrived, the restaurant was surprisingly empty, and we anticipated a quiet, relaxed evening. We started with the half oysters and salmon tartare, and for our entrées, I had the lamb chops while my boyfriend ordered the duck confit. For drinks, he had sweet iced tea and I had Tito's with soda. The food was excellent--flavorful, well-prepared, and generously portioned. That said, I'm giving three stars primarily due to the service and ambiance. Our server (whose name I unfortunately forgot) was very friendly but not attentive, especially considering how slow the restaurant was. He didn't check on us after delivering our meals, and my boyfriend had to request a refill on his iced tea. Additionally, the bartender was loudly sharing what sounded like personal stories with another guest, to the point where it disrupted the atmosphere. We could barely hear ourselves talk. When dining out--especially for a special occasion--we were hoping for a more peaceful environment where we could enjoy a quiet conversation. While the décor is elegant and inviting, the overall experience didn't quite match the setting. I would return for the food alone, but I hope improvements are made in service and ambiance. Also, given how slow the evening was, the food took longer than expected to come out.

It did not look like it would really fill the emptiness that was in my stomach. It seemed much more like a small bite sort of place which maybe it is but... I don't know what they do with their food, but oh my God everything is so filling. Like I really don't feel like I ate a lot of food at all, especially comparative to some of the breakfasts I usually stuff down my mouth. I'm like uncomfortably full right now. We both got full And I've got a bunch of leftovers in the fridge. What I liked: their bread was really, really good. The bread they used on the ham and cheese sandwich was really tasty and it really made the sandwich. The croissant I got ....the walnut croissant super tasty and probably one of the better croissants I've had in a while. The ratatouille which I didn't think would be a good for breakfast was super tasty. Super rich, but really nice. What I didn't like: it is straight up criminal that the two slices of bread were extra with that ratatouille. you absolutely need that for dipping. Go ahead and include it in the price, but there is no way in hell that should be extra. Ham was only half warmed but that's OK... It was fine and part of me is happy that someone didn't have to stick their finger inside my sandwich.

We'd been wanting to try this restaurant ever since it appeared on the Michelin Recommended Guide,…read moreand it absolutely lived up to the hype. When I think of British food, I usually picture hearty pub fare and pints of beer, so I was pleasantly surprised by how refined and elevated the experience was here. The steak tartare was exceptional, beautifully balanced with rich egg yolk and bright acidity. Easily one of the best versions I've had. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and paired with a deeply flavorful, decadent au jus style sauce with a subtle sweetness that brought everything together. The meat pie filling rotates weekly, and during our visit it featured chicken. It was good, though I had expected a more traditional ground beef filling. Still enjoyable, just different from what I anticipated. The service was equally impressive. At one point, a server quietly stopped by to refold my wife's napkin when she stepped away from the table, a small touch that perfectly reflected the level of attentiveness throughout the evening. We'll absolutely be back for this thoughtful and elevated take on British cuisine.

We picked the Camden Spit & Larder as our dinner on a Saturday evening. Camden Spit & Larder was debuted by Chef Oliver Ridgeway, which is a modern London-inspired eatery. Camden Spit & Larder is on the Michelin guide as a recommended restaurant in Downtown Sacramento. The restaurant is decorated to have the luxury modern style, with floor to ceiling windows and a polished bar with open kitchen. Chef Oliver Ridgeway had over 25 years of culinary experience, who was great in setting the style and lifestyle for the farm to table dining experience. Since we were celebrating my birthday, we were greeted by a toast of champagne. And the bread was popover with butter, which was fantastic. Spring Espresso Martini $18 I got the special espresso martini made with On Nitro Ketel One Vodka, Mr. Black, Yellow Chartreuse, Rose, and Cacao. Chilled Pacific Oysters $22 Half dozen of the Pacific oysters from Washington State. On the side there were mignonette, Winston's Hot Sauce and a slice of lemon. Oysters were very fresh! 1855 New York Steak $58 Husband ordered the New York steak cooked to medium as his main. On the side there were broccolini, pommes dauphine, cippolini onions, maitake mushrooms, and topped with black garlic jus. The steak was very thick but juicy inside and slightly crispy outside. Market Fish $48 The market fish of the day was cod. Deep fried with crispy skin, and the sliced potato and the vegetables were a great pair. Sticky Toffee Pudding $14 For dessert we got the English style sticky toffee pudding. Made with maple bourbon toffee sauce, cinnamon snap tuile, and vanilla ice cream. Disznoko 1413 Tokaji 2021 $13 And we got the dessert wine to pair with the sticky toffee pudding.

The restaurant has a definite "hole in the wall" charm, with only a couple dozen seats inside, creating a very intimate and romantic setting. It gives off an old-school vibe , they even checked my coat when we arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the evening. After we were seated, we had a few minutes to look over their very small printed menu. Then Adam, the owner, came to our table to personally share all of the evening's specials. We weren't expecting so many! They've operated this way since opening, keeping a small core menu and verbally sharing specials, so just something to keep in mind when you visit. Adam has a great sense of humor and makes the ordering experience fun and engaging. Food & Drinks: We started by sharing the crab potstickers, which were incredibly flavorful and perfectly crisped. For our main courses, my husband ordered the filet mignon with scallop and shrimp, served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I ordered the lobster ravioli.
