Well, we tried. So my husband and I went out to breakfast/brunch to Mimi's Cafe, thinking we could get a quick, yet tasty meal. Our first red flag was after we ordered our meals, I was brought a Muffin with the standard whipped margarine, and we didn't have any utensils. No big deal, my husband asked the waiter to bring over a set so we could share it. 10 minutes later, we finally get our utensils, and yet the restaurant is only half full, so what gives? After we finish the muffin, the waiter comes back to us to ask me "uh, you wanted the Eggs Benedict, right?" Uh yeah, you confirmed that when you order yourself. By now we are getting antsy, as we have been waiting a little over a half hour. After waiting for another 20 minutes we finally receive our food. My husband's french toast is lukewarm and soggy, he received pork sausage when he ordered turkey sausage, and my potatoes that come as a side dish are cold and mushy. The Eggs Benedict was actually fairly warm, so that was a plus. After we finish our food we wait yet another 10 minutes before asking for our check. My husband says, "Thanks, could we please get our check? We'd like to be out by lunch time." After waiting for the server to get back with my husband's card, he sets it down and snidely says, "Sorry for the long wait, for future reference I hope you make it to lunch on time." Really? We didn't need the extra attitude, and Mimi's just lost our business. I get it, we have bad days and sometime customers can be rude, but most people swallow this and still tell the customer to have a good day, regardless. I will take my business elsewhere where I can pay $35 to have a hot meal and a nicer server. read more

Came here New Year's Day and had incredible service! The hostess was doing so many jobs at once. She greeted us quickly, was super nice, and promise the wait wouldn't be long. A party of 2 walked in before mine, and I feel sorry about their attitudes. They bad mouthed the wait time (15-20 min), cursed about how they would clean tables themselves (its New Year's Day, they were possibly understaffed), and ended up leaving just a few minutes before their name was called~(I feel like many bad reviews come from people of this nature.) We had enough time to look at a menu during our wait (just 15 minutes!), we were seated quickly, and our waitress was incredibly friendly. I was absolutely pleased and obsessed with the caramel latte I had. I ordered the bacon avocado omelet, roasted potatoes, and blueberry muffin; they were all perfect and arrived fast. 5/5 experience, I'm really lost at the negative reviews and people with horrible attitudes towards the restaurant life ‍ read more

This is exactly no stars wait one star. The food got to the table very late then we got the food and the food was cold we told the waiter and the waiter asked did we want him to take it back and get them to fix it. My husband stated that he doesn't allow food to leave the table and get it back because something could happen to it if it's a disgruntled worker. The server said okay. We told them we weren't going to eat since he wasn't because our food was very bland and not at all great for the price. The manager come over left a ticket for our food and then offered muffins to take home how does this equal a meal? My comment would be if you want to eat somewhere to have to eat somewhere else it's the perfect place because you're not going to be satisfied with the quality of food for the price for sure and you'll be lucky if your food is warm when it hits the table read more

I was very excited to go here due to the raving reviews on Yelp.. Unfortunately, I wasn't wowed by the food at all. I went here on a Sunday for brunch and ordered French toast and pancakes, since these were their staple items. When the food arrived, it was cold and didn't really have any flavoring or fluffiness to the food. I was annoyed specifically because it's pretty hard to mess up breakfast food, but proceeded to continue eating. While the food was okay, the customer service was great. It didn't make up for us leaving unsatisfied, but made it easier to enjoy the atmosphere. read more

We really enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner there a few years ago and this time through Murfreesboro we were very disappointed in the food as well as the service ;a complete disappointment ! The turkey would have been acceptable had it been a 50's TV dinner , the vegetables were over salted and the mashed potato could have been a packaged mix ! There were no rolls offered ( a previous highlight ) and judging by the size and shape of the slices they were not sliced from an actual turkey . The cornbread stuffing was dry and tasteless . My husband and I ate early dinner. I got the Mushroom and Brie Melt minus the bun (I'm gluten free) with fries on the side. My husband got the meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes. My burger was cooked to perfection and the caramelized onions were a very nice touch. Server was kind. We got our meal in 20 minutes. "Mimi's (manly man strike 1) Cafe (manly man strike 2), but..." I remember the first time my wife convinced me to go here. I asked her to give me enough time to grow a full beard and a chance to dye my hair. Those steps, coupled with sunglasses and a ball cap, none my manly friends could say they heard I was seen there. If they recognized her, I could say it wasn't me and that she must be cheating on me. It's difficult to say "Mimi's Cafe" without saying it softly...MeeeMeee's Caffffaayyyy. It's not like "Longhorn Steaks" - There's testosterone in that title! Well we went. The next day, I shaved the beard, left the sunglasses in the car and let my hair go back natural. Still wear the ball cap to hide the roots. Don't care what they think - the food here is great. The muffins here are great. The selections here are great! I even joined their eClub. If there is one thing better than great food - it's great food at a discount! You get emailed club member only coupons quite often. Plus when you join, you used to get a coupon for a free 4 pack of their muffins. I even took just my two daughters here for Valentine's Day a few years back. I always, always, always prefer a booth. My wife and I still sit on the same side (say ahhh, that's so sweet). Nah, it just makes it easier to sample her plate. Just kidding, we always have, always will. They are crowded when most good restaurants are crowded so expect a wait on weekend nights and dinner hour during the week - worth it though. I am fairly certain they have call ahead seating. Oh, they also serve breakfast that I have yet to try - but I plan on it. So guys - put on your best shirt - preferably ironed - make sure your jeans are clean and free of holes - and take her! I had the greatest experience at Mimi's. I had the Pain Perdu which was absolutely delicious. My waiter Alfred was the best. I never had to ask for refills, he was always prompt with his attention. My son had the quiche, which I tasted, and was delicious also. The level of service was awesome. I appreciate a waiter anticipating my needs and responding to them before I even have to ask. The place was pretty empty so I expected a pretty quick turn around. It was 2 hours start to finish for a party of 6. No appetizers but we did have desert. I left all of this out of my star rating because they seemed very short staffed which I cannot blame on the employees. I will say the food was just that. Food. It wasn't good or bad although one of us had ice cold potatoes. The food was just meh. For the price it should have been much better. Again I blame the restaurant not the staff. This morning my husband and I ordered our food and drinks at 9:45. Due to TN state law, we were informed by our server Faith that our drinks wouldn't be put into the system until 10. We were also informed by her that she'd just been sat with a large party and to flag her down if we felt abandoned. No big deal. We got our food right around ten and were looking forward to our drinks. 10:10. 10:15. She finally came back to our table asking "Oh, did you get your drinks? She (and unnamed she) was supposed to put them in for you..." at this point we asked for the check and a final water refill and told her to not worry about the drinks if they hadn't been put in because we had to go shortly. We waited another 10 minutes and when the drinks were brought to us it was clear they'd been sitting on the counter for a while. My Bloody Mary had almost a full inch of melted ice water in the top, and because our waitress left without leaving a straw I couldn't even start to drink it. I asked for a straw which was brought by a manager. I tried to stop her to inform her about the situation and she ignored me and walked off. We had to leave at this point and didn't even get to try our drinks, let alone wait to have someone find the manager again. The food was fantastic as always, but if management/the hostess knew a party would have been sat immediately after us, they should have put us somewhere else. This wasn't our servers issue totally, but she should have enlisted someone reliable to watch her tables if she knew she was busy. read more

Everything was nasty. The French onion soup used to be so good, today it did t even have the French bread in it....the crab cakes tasted like old rancid grease and sour fish. The replacement was chicken mac and it tasted of salt salt and salt and old grease. And the cake men tenders had zero flavor and also tasted of old grease....zero stars. read more
