I came to have brunch today I ordered the Sante Fe , add Steak, when it came out the egg was very runny and the steak was very under seasoned . I tried to eat it to help out my fellow Americans and support local business. Long story short I was not impressed and or satisfied. I ask to send it back, the manager named Joe came out and insulted me without asking what was wrong he immediately went into defense about his aged steak which really offended me, because he did not care about my unsatisfactory. We ordered the Thanksgiving Turkey and Ham Feast. It stated online that it would be picked up cold with reheating instructions. When we unpacked the box, we found that the meal was not ready to reheat. There were things that had to be done to finish prepping the turkey and the sweet potatoes. The turkey was shrink wrapped and looked partially cooked with pink juices in with it. Also, it was supposed to be a herb buttered turkey. It came with two small containers of herb butter and instructions to melt it and brush it onto the turkey, then "reheat" the turkey for two hours at 350°. In my opinion that is not reheating. It is completing the roasting. Also, I was looking forward to the two cranberry orange loaves that were supposed to come with the "feast". Instead, we received two carrot raisin loaves. While they were good, they were not the cranberry orange I anticipated. And the spice mixture had to be added to the sweet potatoes and the paltry amount of pecans sprinkled on top before "reheating". Also, we had to transfer all of the sides to oven safe containers, which meant a lot more cleanup. My whole intention in picking up a premade meal was to keep people from spending time in the kitchen. My daughter spent the day in there. Mimi's was a favorite of ours, but we will not be going back. When I spoke with the manager, he pretty much blew off everything I had to say, telling me he was sorry I felt that way. But not taking any responsibility. read more

Been wanting to try the Coq au Vin dish at Mimi's Café for a while now, you have to get there early to enjoy this classic French dish. Now is this the "Classic Coq au Vin" you might get from restaurants in Montreal or Paris...nope. Is it worth going to Mimi's early to try this dish...without a doubt!!! This has a rich, thick and savory Burgundy wine sauce with a bit of sweetness. The mushrooms, onions, carrots, and mashed potatoes (not a standard part of Coq au Vin) were perfect. I was very impressed with the chicken part of the dish...a whole half a chicken draped over the potatoes. The bird was very moist and fork-tender...perfect for this dish. Overall this was an impressive presentation of Coq au Vin and I feel would pass muster for any French palate out there...to include folks here in Murfreesboro!!! Breakfast was fine, crepes were rubbery but that's not why I'm making this review. While my family and I were eating our food this man in a chefs coat came out, I think the name tag said "Joseph" His mannerisms were very strange. He rearranged the empty table in front of us 4 separate times, sat at that table for half a second, stood up, went back to the bar, then back to that empty table and he just kept looking at us. At one point he even pointed to our table to a host in the front of the restaurant. I have zero idea what they was about but I wasn't the only one who noticed his odd behavior. It's been awhile since we've had dinner at Mimi's, it's usually brunch. I ordered the Turkey dinner w au gratin potatoes and corn chowder. The potatoes we sliced boiled potatoes w a zero taste white sauce. I had to ask for the cranberry relish and the Turkey was very salty. Service was very good. My husband had the pot roast which had a gelatinous gravy but tasted good. Not sure who they're using for food provider but may want to switch. read more

We just had a Christmas party at Mimi's. This is a new feature for them. They did an excellent job, despite confusion from our side. Staff was extremely accommodating and beyond friendly..including the manager. Before people complain...at this point in reality...be grateful for the help that allows you to have an evening out. Came in for brunch with some friends. What we really wanted were the mimosas! I had the Mango mimosa and my husband got jealous and ordered the berry mimosa. Both were really tasty. They give you a flute of orange juice and your own mini bottle of Korbel champagne. I ordered the Florentine Benedict. It was very good and filling. The roasted potatoes were crispy and seasoned perfectly. My husband ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict and it was also tasty. The service was super friendly. I wish they served their breads during breakfast too. They do have seasonal muffins and I would have tried some but all they had were pumpkin spiced everything. read more

Our server was named Jasmine, and she was friendly and very helpful in making sure that we were provided for and also make sure that our experience was enjoyable. The baked Brie and spinach dip was served hot and it was the best I've had in a long time.don't get me started on the bottomless mimosas. They're to die for. Plus they have a variety of flavors. The kids chicken tenders came out with burned edged and chicken that you had to rip forcefully as it was so tough like they cooked it from frozen. Coke was flat. Everything about this place seemed old and boring.. I understand it's a "vintage" themed cafe, but golly, was it dark and grim inside. I asked my server what is some of their popular dishes, and she gave me a few options and I ended up choosing the grilled alantic salmon. I got my plate, and it was extemely small, even with my sides I still left hungry. My fish was overly cooked where it wasn't even considered grilled, but pan seared. My daughter and I were visiting the Avenue Murfreesboro from Nashville and we decided to try a new place to eat. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly man in a chefs hat. The atmosphere was cool. It had a New Orleans vibe and jazz music playing. I was excited to see what was on the menu. The prices on the menu seemed extremely high for a casual dining restaurant, but everything's got up so I didn't think much of that and figure the food must be really good at that price so worth it. I decided to order a French dip which was $15 If you want to add cheese, that's another three dollars and if you want to add onion and pepper that's an additional cost as well. So if you order a French dip with cheese and onion and pepper you're looking at over $20. I didn't really mind because I thought the food must be really delicious. When the waitress came to take our drink order, she seemed in a hurry and told us that she had a really bad day. This was unprofessional, and I didn't really appreciate that but at the same time I was friendly and sweet to her because I work with the public as well and sometimes you just do. You have a really bad day and just can't be as professional. We ordered our food and drinks. I decided to indulge in a Coke. I haven't even finished a few sips of it when she bought a whole Nother Coke over which I thought was strange because she did not ask me and I normally would not want to be tempted to drink more than one Coke but I didn't say anything I understand she's trying to make everyone happy and overwhelmed. When the food arrived is when I became very disappointed. The meat was old and dried out like it had been sitting out all day and the French bread felt soft and chewy like they had put it in the microwave with the old meat on it. They were very ungenerous with a portion of meat which I didn't really mind because it tasted like the meat was turning. My daughter just wanted to share with me. She wasn't very hungry and just wanted the company. I let her have all the fries because I was not in the mood to eat that and she took a few bites and wasn't impressed. I'm very disappointed that they would charge me so much. For a microwave sandwich with very little dried out old meat. When the food arrived, it was delivered by a different server and The AJu sauce was spilled all over the plate And the sandwich on the chewy microwaved extra hot bread was just sitting on the AJu sauce already . No one asked me how the food was or came by so I didn't complain being that no one seemed interested. I wasn't very upset. It's just a bad dining experience after all, but I was A little disheartened to spend my hard earned money on something so unappealing. I took a chance, though live and learn, just warning others. We were seated very promptly & greeted by our server shortly there after. She was very pleasant! My girls ordered pancakes and requested chocolate chips and they were happy to accommodate!! Took a long time for the food to come out, the meat and dairy was room temperature. The food was stale and the taste was average at best. Two of the three people I ate with had very small portion sizes as well. I am not a picky eater by any means, but I will never understand why some people enjoy this subpar and outdated Cafe. Add in the cost, and you would probably be better off going to a drive through like the famous place with a clown as their mascot. Although a clown may be better served as Mimi's mascot with the low quality I received. Would not recommend. read more

I usually judge by the ratings before I try a new place out but my friend asked me if I wanted to go to Mimi's and to be honest I was sure on it since you guys have 3 stars but I really enjoyed my first experience. I've been going to Mimi's for the last couple of months now and I always get Trinity as my waitress since she was the first waitress I had. She does an amazing job making sure my order is correct or if I want anything else. I've asked for her recommendations when I can't make my mind up and I really enjoyed the French quarter burger she told me to try. If I could rate this place 6 stars I would.
