We've only been to Mimi's one other time a couple of years ago for breakfast. We were in Pinkney and decided to try it for dinner. The waitress was selling the idea of an appetizer. In addition to our sandwiches we ordered a hummus plate with pita which is common in the Greek influenced coney restaurants in South Eastern Michigan. When the waitress brought it out it came with three wedges of pita that were three of four from a round pita. What happened to the fourth piece? Also the hummus was an embarrassingly small portion thinly spread over the plate. The waitress was clearly uncomfortable and offered to bring out more pita. We're not ones to complain. But this was ridiculous. We asked if this was the typical portion for this appetizer? Her answer was "this is what came out." Mimi's prices are not low. The hummus plate is $7.89. We told our waitress that this was a really tiny portion for almost $8.00. She said she would tell let the owner know. Nothing of course came of that. In short the waitress was nice and did her best. The sandwiches were good. The hummus appetizer left one feeling ripped off. Why would you skimp on hummus? There's another coney restaurant across M36. Try them next time. read more

For a diner, we found this place slightly better than what-you-see-is-what-you-get. Portions are typically huge but of slightly better quality than what you'll find at most diners or coney places. French fries were especially good. The staff seemed to work well as a team, the young, sprightly ones being very friendly and fast, making up for our old, large and crusty one who seemed to just want to bolt from the place cursing. Liver & Onions--good (if you like that sort of "food"). Kids Mac-n-Cheese--just like Kraft. Fish-n-Chips--good, and the fries were very good. Greek Salad w/grilled chicken--good chicken, no beets, plenty of (cow) feta, good olives, all lettuce iceberg. read more

Mimi's is our go-to as far as local diners are concerned. Only complaint revolves around carry out orders and management. They put hot food directly into styrofoam to-go containers and often you can see that the food has melted the styrofoam. Definitely not something I want to be eating. Could be avoided by a piece of parchment paper. Also, on more than one occasion the woman on the phone has been pretty rude- interrupting me to ask about something I didn't even get the chance to say yet. Same woman has been outwardly rude to waitstaff in front of me before. Pretty sure it's either the owner/management. read more

The food is standard American fare and good. Several of us drop in weekly for breakfast. The quality of the wait staff is why I give the restaurant 5 stars. I Cannot believe how poorly I was treated by management. Went to have dinner with my two young children, nephew, sister and brother in law. Everything was good except the fish I had ordered. I know fish well, I eat it often. This was not one of those eat most of it and never order it again. This was something is wrong with this piece of fish. It looked good, but one bite and I knew. I tried to pick at a different spot but no way. When our waitress came back around she asked me if I wanted something different. I politely said no thank you but that I didn't need the whole thing taken off the bill but to just charge me the normal price for the salad and cup of soup that had came with it. Later the bill comes with nothing removed. I went to ask her why and she said she can't remove anything without the manager and then just stared at me. I said well then can I see a manager? A minute later a man storms out and says abruptly "what's the problem here" I honestly didn't know how to answer that. I started to say everything was good except the fish and he cuts me off and says Your fish was fine! I ate it when you sent it back and it was good!! Seriously? You ate it?? I said I'm glad you enjoyed it but I'm the customer and it was inedible!! He said I'm not removing it from the bill and left out of site. Now I'm standing there looking at the waitress like, what now. I walked back to my table and waited for a minute. I decided to try to speak to him again. The girls were hesitant to even go get him and told me he just wants you to pay the whole thing. I said tell him I want to pay something but not the whole thing. He finally comes back out and says pay the whole thing or I'm calling the cops, I have cameras. Then stormed away! I laughed, looked up and waved at the cameras so they could see my face, gave the girl $20 towards the bill and left. I was always told this restaurant was owned by a very nice lady. I hope see sees this review. This should not have been handled like this. You lost my business and all my family and friends business over 6 or 7 dollars. I told multiple people to take off the fish and charge me for a salad and cup of soup. The dinner was 13.50, charge me 4 bucks for soup and four for salad and send a customer away to return again. I usually really enjoy this dinner but whit changes from covid me and my friend visiting from Colorado can only and were told we could sit where ever we wanted that wasn't marked off so we sat down when we sat down and ordered drinks our wait staff went to go get our drinks and another staff member In the back wanted to talk about how we should be kicked out and never been aloud to sit down in the first place because we didn't have Mask to walk the 5 or so yards to sit down just to take them off to eat if it was a problem we totally could have been informed before we sat but if you don't like that costumer don't have to wear masks while eating then you shouldn't be working in food read more

The food is good and it's a great place to get lunch with friends. My only issue, and I know it's nit picking, but the servers seem angry or irritated with everything you say and give off an attitude. If I ask for something with no tomato I get an exasperated sigh like it's such a giant hassle. I've also had a few experiences where they vacuum under my chair while I'm sitting in it. I normally only order carryout from this place. That being said every single time I've come in to pick up an order the staff is either rude or simply do everything they possibly can do before coming to cash me out and give me my order. I like the food that's why I continue to go there but as far as service goes, there is a reason I never dine in. As a person that works in the service industry a happy greeting and a smile goes a long way! Management here should think about incorporating that into their training procedures. read more

I love this place. Mimi runs a tight ship and the food is always good. For a quality fast meal at a wonderful price this is our go-to place. The greek chicken salad is HUGE and yummy. Had a breakfast platter today, which I've had before. Food was fine. Service was fine. When sitting at the counter finishing my coffee, I heard, clear as a bell, the dishwasher tell a waitress, "Spit in his food." Other employees also heard, and nobody objected to the idea. Now I have no idea whether she did or not, but nobody seemed bothered about the suggestion. When I paid, I said that I had heard it too, and the person working the register, said, "oh, sorry." We come here quite often for good tasting food and a nice clean place to eat. The staff is always friendly and they don't mind when you have a few special requests. We've never been disappointed and enjoy that breakfast is served all day and there are daily specials. If you just want desert they have cream puffs and make a tasty banana split too!! read more

Learn it. And please don't yell across the room. The food has never been very good, just edible.
