Just had breakfast at Mimi's in Hamburg. Saw a waitress put a bag in the the garbage can and then serve a customer their breakfast and a set of silverware. I never saw her wash her hands. Went to the register to pay. the waitress taking my money was on a personal call. I asked her for a bag for my leftovers. She turned her back to finish her personal phone call. It's just OK, nothing more. I much prefer the Hamburg Coney Island across the street, both for food and service.

Second time in a row we've ordered the chicken Greek salad for carryout and received bad food. The salad was old, a little slimy, tomatoes definitely old. Called to speak to a manager, but one was not in. Threw the whole salad away. Probably won't be back. read more

Huge disappointment. Continues to have management issues. Inconsistent food prep high staff turn-over. Served a gyro with the smallest amount of meat I've ever seen. (I paid for extra meat received less than normal??) On our previous visit my wife was served really old corn beef. If the owner / cook with the silver hair flattop is in the kitchen just walk away. He blames all of his often mistakes on the staff. (Shouts from kitchen, rudely.) Food missing from carry out order. All the signs of management that only cares about what they collect. Employees and customers are not a concern. Their other family locations don't have these issues. Must be a local problem. read more

My wife loves the Warm Greek Pasta! The Moe's Burger is to die for, a real "blast from the past", the best "Chee" Burger in Livingston County! Delicious! The Cream Puff dessert is wonderful and they have the best price you will ever get on a Hot Fudge! read more

I have been to Mim's three times now. Twice as a dine in and once as a carry out. The food is decent enough, but the staff is RUDE and act as though you are bothering them. I tried carry out, so I could enjoy the food without dealing with the staff, and my order was missing half of the things I ordered. I used to be a waitress at Mimis and from the first shift I worked until I left 3yrs. Later I always said "this is THE cleanest restaurant I've EVER EVER worked in!!!!!!!!! Her food is all HOME MADE and of the best quality this is something you never find in a restaurant EVER!!! Her and her husband work long hours with the highest of quality of food just to make home made food!! I've never have worked in a restaurant where the owners worked so many hours to prepare so much home made food!! And it was the cleanest restaurant I've EVER worked in their standards for cleanliness is Crazy but it also is a great habit to have because if you have never worked in a restaurant you haven't seen some of the very unsanitary food you have eaten!!! After closing time the staff are out of there 10 min after NOT AT MIMIS it takes a extra hour at least to CLEAN she has very high standards of how she wants her restaurant to be cleaned!!!! Have been coming to Mimi's since they opened. We come for both breakfast and dinners. Great breakfast specials. Food is very good and it is prepared and served quickly. There are many choices on the menu, so even the pickiest eater should be able to find something to eat. Excellent value for the money. Portion sizes are good. read more

I have usually had a great experience but after today i will never go back! Our waitress argued with us after she brought out the wrong food, i understand that things happen but to stand there and argue with a customer that the customer does not know what they ordered! Then she never corrected the problem, took it off the bill or apologised!!!! The rest of the time was her being extremely rude to us, we should have walked out but I could not. When I went to pay I was going to complain to the person cashing people out, but she was so rude to the people in front of me I knew it would fall on deaf ears. Food and service are good. My only gripe, is that half the time I visit, the silverware and coffee mugs look like the staff doesn't even attempt to do a decent job washing them. I've kind of drifted away from this place because of it. read more

I was a little concerned about coming here based on the mediocre reviews posted lately on Yelp. Some claimed the place was not as clean as it ought to be, some said servers were inattentive, and so on. As it turns out, we went there earlier today (Mother's Day) during the lunch hour to have a late breakfast. (Mimi's serves breakfast all day.) We were greeted courteously, seated promptly even though the place was packed, and given a fresh cut tulip in commemoration of the holiday. The restaurant is a diner (single large room with booths around the outside and tables on the floor - and laid out in a way which is efficient but not cramped. All tables and booth components (including back and seat cushions) were in good condition and - everything (tables, chairs, dishes, utensils, and what not) was clean, light colored (giving the place an airy feel), and gave me full confidence that cleanliness is at or above par. Our waitress (Amanda) was very pleasant, informative, and exactly as attentive during our meal as was needed. She was not hovering (as if she would have had the time to) but my coffee cup never went empty either. I had a traditional heart attack breakfast e.g.eggs, hash browns, toast, and 3 meats (ham, bacon, sausage) in which everything was cooked to perfection and which I could just barely finish for something less than $7. My wife ordered a gyro omelet which was as large as the plate itself for about the same price, which came with hash browns and toast and was also cooked to perfection. Her omelet was -packed- with feta cheese and gyro meat and came with a very ample portion of cucumber dressing in a plastic container on the side -- WHICH WE DIDN'T HAVE TO ASK FOR, which is unfortunately not the case in many/most other places. We never felt rushed even though the place was filled to the brim with customers the whole time we were there and everyone we engaged with was as pleasant and as helpful as could be. Total bill came to just under $20 (2x$7 plus 2X$2 each for bottomless cup GOOD coffee plus tax. I cannot say anything about what lunch, dinner, or other servers might be like since this was our first time there, but I would certainly recommend the place without reservation for Sunday breakfast and given the level of service and quality of food we received when the place was as busy as it was, would be surprised to be disappointed at some other time or meal. read more
