I went this morning with a few girlfriends who I hadn't seen in quite some time. The food was just average in my opinion, but our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy, as is typical for a Bakersfield cafe on a Saturday morning. I never really write reviews, however there was something that happened during our visit that was very rude and makes me not want to come back to this restaurant. We had been there a total of 55 minutes and had just finished our meal and paid our check. We were still visiting and hadn't finished our iced coffee yet. A lady (I'm assuming it was either the manager or the owner) came up to us and asked us to leave because she needed the table. I'm sorry, what?! We had been there for less than an hour and there were several empty tables around us. That really rubbed me the wrong way! That has never happened to me at any of the other places that I go to for weekend brunch. We left and stood outside in the cold and tried to finish up our conversation but had to cut it short. So the next time I'm going out for breakfast or brunch, I'll be sure to give my business to New Vintage Grill, Old River Grill or Social House, where I feel much more welcome! read more

My wife and I came here for brunch a couple of weeks back, and our experience was nothing short of fantastic. The location was convenient to where we lived, the atmosphere was nice - fairly cozy and personable being somewhat small. The service was great - although the restaurant was full, we received our food no more than 15 minutes after sitting down! The mimosa flight was delicious, the food was delicious, and our experience as a whole was fantastic! My only complaint would be the price; two breakfast entrees and a mimosa flight for nearly 70 dollars? I guess that's just the going rate nowadays, but, it was worth it no doubt! First time there and highly disappointed. Took 30 mins to just get some waters out. Our food and mimosas came out an hour later. I had chile verde nachos which were good but came out cold. Also tried the chicken and waffles. Waffles were good presentation is nice but chicken was bland and dry. Mimosas were good just wish we had them before our meal. Was so excited to try this place honestly Was very disappointed. Service was absolutely horrible the ladies were nice but not very tentative had to ask for our water 25 mins in . mimosas came out the same time as the appetizers and food so we just sat there for 40 mins drinking water understandable when extremely busy but people who came in after us were getting drinks/mimosas before us. Our waitress was at the register majority of the time and didn't refill our water till We got the bill. Overall Food was Okay not bad a little under seasoned but good, Service just needs to be better. What a great find... I had the prime rib melt, my son had the Chicken n' tasters and we shared a flight (3 mimosa's of choice) strawberry, mixed berry, & mango... the service was great... the food was good... and the mimosas were yummy... it's a very cute, clean, and friendly spot... Came in with my sister and cousin for brunch. Sat for 20 minutes and a server never came to see us despite an older woman coming and telling us someone would be right with us. Servers had a conversation about who would be serving us in the kitchen and then continued on not serving us. Two other tables came in behind us and were greeted almost immediately as well as had their order taken. To be a small party amongst other small parties and the only difference between us being attended to versus other is that we are Black is extremely disheartening. The worst experience ever!!! So my friends and I came to have brunch. The food was mediocre. My friend ordered the chili verde omelet. They said it was homemade but it could have been out of a can. It had no flavor, supper bland. I ordered the thick cut brioche french toast. Nothing thick about it. Flavor wasn't bad but it was underwhelming. Now let's talk about service. The gal serving us was pleasant. No complaints about her. The owner (I'm assuming that's who she was) was the worst. There were five of us. We all ate. We ordered the mimosa flight and the lady could not have been more rude. We hadn't even finished eating before she was clearing our table. We had plenty of mimosas left and she came back 3 or 4 times. I will never again eat here. I'll make sure to let everyone know about the treatment we got. I commented to the lady that her rudeness was appalling. She said she had a rush to deal with and thanked me. Im sorry but we are a paying customer. I love that they are walking distance from The salon I work at and have delivered for me. The clients are also enjoy their food and Mimosa!! The food has also been amazing and I have had to share my Cobb wrap as it is large with fries also amazing. We have all ordered different things such as , Caesar salad with chicken, chicken and taters.. never disappointed as the staff very nice and helpful. Really good chili verde omelette, and the mimosas were to die for! Gretchen did an amazing job as a server and made sure we were really taken care of throughout our meal. Both times the owner was watching over the floor to see if any patrons need anything -- it's always nice to see business owners who are hands on. The food is great and it comes out super quick. This is our fourth time here so let's review. For my service animal they were super sweet. Offered a table on the patio , but once I stayed medical alert they found a table that was very accommodating for his size. NOW the mimosas (well I should start with I don't normally like them) BUT this place is the exception. I recommend a flight as all the flavors have been wonderful. I don't know that I have a favorite. The food is super fresh I alway order the chili verde on something. My husband loves the breakfast burrito that has a confetti' bacon and gravy Yummy. Decided to try this place and see what the hype is about. As we were waiting for our turn to be seated a few people came out saying this place had horrible service. I immediately was like oh no but still wanted to try this place. I should've listened and gone somewhere else. Food was ok and drinks were decent. Their Bloody Mary mimosa was the best one I tried. I got the bottomless mimosas and I regret it. Server took so long to refill my mimosa. Bottomless mimosas are not worth it. It's more of a scam at least at this place. I got 5 mimosas in 90min. None of the waiters had a pleasant attitude. They all seem so tired of working there. The size of this place is small. In my opinion the waiters need more training. Overall the experience was nice! The atmosphere and overall feel was very welcoming and not overwhelming. The service was relatively fast and the servers were nice. When they forgot or made mistakes they apologized genuinely. The food overall wasn't bad I enjoyed it, I ate the minority of my portion and I'm pretty satisfied with the taste of it. The mimosas were pretty good as well (from what I heard from the rest of my party). Overhyped Dennys. This place is not what I envisioned. Immediately when I walked it if felt cheap and tacky. We asked for water, and we were served water out of plastic Pepsi cups that you find at Dennys or John's incredible pizza. Our waitress was never present. I had to stop another waitress twice just to get help because our just vanished. The food was bland nothing special. The Mimosas were way too sweet, too much juice not enough champagne. I've heard mixed reviews about mimosa cafe so my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try. Upon arrival we got seated immediately leaving us eager to try out the food and drinks. 20 minutes later without being greeted by a sever we were brought water. By that time we were ready to order drinks and food. Out server asked if we wanted drinks and didn't ask if we were ready to order. Before we could mention we were ready to order she left to get our mimosas. After another 15 minutes of waiting we decided to leave. The entire time we were waiting server after server walking by and helping other tables as if we were invisible. Terrible service. I recommend old river grill down the road. Decided to try this mimosa cafe as everyone has been talking about it. When my friends and I got there we quickly realized we were going to be waiting for a while. After waiting for about 1hr and 15min we were seated. Inside this place is super small and feels crowded. The waiter finally comes and takes our drink order and we obviously order some mimosas. Two people from my party order the bottomless mimosas which the waiter informed them how it works. She stated that they have 90 min to order mimosas for that charge. She stated that the timer started once she placed the first order of mimosas on the table. After putting our drink order, she came back to get our food order. We waited about 25 min for the food which wasn't too bad but we waited about 30 min for our drinks!!!! Food was a 4/10 and the drinks were a 7/10. My friends with the bottomless mimosas had to wait so long for a refill. The waiter would come get their order for another mimosa and take about 7 min to bring that one. After they had drank their 5th mimosa the waiter told them they had about 10 min before their time was up. We quickly knew something wasn't right. How had it been 90 min already if they didn't get their first drink till 12:30 and it was barely 1:30. We argued and told her we had pictures to prove when we had gotten the first batch of drinks. She just shrugged and said that's what the bartender told me tell you guys. She left and we complained again which she said she would bring out a manager. He did come and had 2 more mimosas and said that we were wrong but he did them a favor by giving them 2 extra mimosas. We argued told him that the waiter told us the timer didn't start till it was placed on our table. He said no we start the time as soon as it is poured. I said ok well how is it our fault that your waiter took 30 min to bring our drinks. He was so rude and responded saying it didn't take that long and that to understand that it was busy. He was so rude and literally made me not want to come back. Their service personnel needs more attention. Update!!! As you can see by the way the manager responded you can tell that I'm right about his attitude. Not once did he apologize for his waitress mistake. To the manager Maybe ask her to tell you what she told us. You are in the food industry business which requires you to make your customers happy. Like I've stated we have proof that we waited a long time for our drinks. We will not be returning and will not recommend to anyone. We enjoyed our conversation not your shitty service. read more

Well. Disappointed to say the least. Ordered Fish n chips: if you want frozen Fish and Chips, perfectly rectangular and what looks like frozen french fries come here. Taste was fine but if I goto a restaurant I want hand dipped battered fish. Cant even compare to next door.
