TERRIBLE customer service! I strongly suggest taking your business/money directly across the street to DC nails!

I knew I needed to get a massage, but I've tried a few places in Capitol Hill previously and the massages were not great. Thus, I expanded my search bubble and found Unwind AdMo, and I'm glad I did!!! Nina gave me the best massage I've ever had - her technique was amazing, I was never uncomfortable, she focused on the right spots to get those tight knots out, and she made me feel very comfortable. Pricing was right on par for DC too. I will always come to Unwind Wellness now - even though it's ~40 minutes by metro/walking away, compared to some local spots I could be at in 5 minutes. I'm even nervous to try their Unwind Navy Yard location...because I only want massages from Nina, she's that good.

If you're looking for massage therapists who actually do real work, this is the place. I've seen both Helen and Heajin, and they are exceptional in different but complementary ways. Helen is incredible for deep tissue, especially hip work. She goes deep, she's effective, and she is not afraid to work through tension. This is not a light, spa-style massage. It's therapeutic, intentional, and results-driven. Exactly what I want. Heajin specializes in Thai and lymphatic massage, and she is phenomenal. Thai massage is more like assisted stretching, and she incorporates it beautifully. She also took time to explain lymphatic flow, gave me tips on how to support it at home, and clearly cares about long-term wellbeing, not just the session itself. One thing to note: at Unwind, therapists may get on the table with you, especially for Thai or deep tissue work. That's part of the technique and something to be aware of if you're new to that style, but for me it speaks to how seriously they take proper body mechanics and effectiveness. The space is calm, professional, and welcoming, and the level of skill here is outstanding. If you want thoughtful, strong, therapeutic massage from practitioners who really know the body, I highly recommend Unwind.

The price for a 60 minute massage is very fair for being right in the city, $130 before the discount, $110 with it (before gratuity). I have not tried any other services. Since I am a member of the gym, I knew it was located in the gym along with the hair salon and was not surprised by the entrance procedure. Rather, I was incredibly impressed by the tranquil environment they managed to create within the busy gym. Once you enter the space, there's dim mood lighting, relaxing music, water, and a separate bathroom. You wouldn't even know you're in the gym. I received a massage form one masseuse, thought it was good, and so I went back for a second with the same individual. The second time, I was deeply unimpressed. The whole experience was much more wholistic and caressing than a pressure-based massage--even after I requested more pressure. It didn't even feel like I had had a massage afterwards. So for my third session, I decided to try someone different: Ronnie. And Ronnie was amazing. He incorporated so many different techniques, including stretching, and threw in some extras like heat and aroma, even going a little over time. I would definitely book Ronnie again. It is a shame that there's no way to tell on the app (that I could see) what type of massage each masseuse specializes in, so you could select one who matches your preferences. My experiences with each masseuse were so different, and it seems a little silly that I would need to try them all before finding my favorite.

The spa is located inside of a gym and you must walk through the gym lobby to reach the spa. The spa advertises a sauna and steam room, however it's separate from the spa area and is located somewhere in the gym area. I opted out (though it was free) because I just didn't feel comfortable walking through the gym area in a robe. There is also some sort of service elevator in the spa area just next to the spa front desk; there was so much ruckus and commotion coming from that area that it was hard to embrace the serenity of the waiting area. The waiting area played some relaxing music and had some ambient lighting. They also provided light refreshments such as infused water and hot tea. I came with a few friends (4 of us including myself) as we were celebrating a birthday. The spa staff was so kind to open a bottle of complimentary champagne and provide fresh strawberries for us in the waiting area as well. My friend called the spa a week prior to book our services and we were split into different appointments times- two people receiving massages during one hour and one person receiving a facial, then the next hour two people getting massages. Because the rooms are directly accessible to the waiting area, you can pretty much hear everything so I heard my friends through the door. Toey was my masseur and she was phenomenal (easily a 10/10). She asked me at the beginning where my problem areas were and where she should focus, and I had her focus on my neck and shoulders as I hold all of my tension there. I requested an hour long Swedish with medium pressure. I was provided complimentary aromatherapy oil in the massage so that was a very nice touch. She massaged my scalp too which was sooo needed. From my head to my toes, she covered it. I felt so much relief at the end of my massage especially because she made sure she spent enough time on my problem area. Absolutely great massage. The gentleman who works the front desk (I think his name was John but I can't remember, sorry!!) was also so kind. He was the one who brought out the refreshments and was periodically checking on me while I was waiting for my service. While the location is not ideal, the service was wonderful. I was pleased with my experience here. The only reason for my 4 stars is only because of the location. Tip: if you have long hair, don't forget to bring a hair tie!

I booked a quickie 30-minute session right at Unwind's opening time, and Anna double-checked that I didn't need to finish by a specific time -- I work remotely, so no issues there, but I love the consideration. Our session never felt rushed, and it was the perfect length to address the specific sore spot I was dealing with on my back. It's difficult to find a massage-focused spot that offers 30-minute sessions in the first place, so the $70 (plus tip) was WELL worth it at Unwind!

But, I have this place in my back pocket now for all future relaxing moments. I was able to book an appointment online a few hours prior. I opted for a 60 min foot massage. I filled out my forms online ahead time. That really sped up the check in process. Once checked in my tech came to get me. Once in the room my tech explained everything and talked about my needs etc. Listen he did an amazing job. If you can get me to relax enough to make it sound like I need a CPAP or if my "pain" goes away, you did a fantabulous job! T. Smith my tech, thank you I will return! My total with tip was just under $200. It was $75 for a 30 min foot massage and $75 for a reflexology foot massage. Well worth it all.

The spa is located in the back of Vida Fitness which is good to know. The place was clean and the music was serene and relaxing as soon as I entered. I wanted to give this place 5 stars so bad but the blonde woman working there took quite a while to greet me and was having a seemingly unimportant conversation with a coworker while I just sat there in the lobby (I was literally the only patron). Eventually, my masseuse greeted me and directed me to my room. The room was a great size and clean. The massage bed was one of the ones they're able to warm up which was a really nice added touch. I so wish I could remember my masseuse's name because he was AWESOME (tall guy, either very low cut hair or bald) !!! He listened to my concerns about problem areas and applied the perfect amount of pressure. When I asked to extend the massage 15 more min, he was accommodating. Overall, really good experience, and I will definitely return.
