This place is your go to for late night eats. Open until 2am every night!!! No reservations needed we walked in and was seated immediately for a party of 9. They also have happy hour everyday from 5-8pm. Their atmosphere is dimly and lively with karaoke rooms to the side where you can also do private dining in there. Parking is usually a hassle because they have a very small parking lot. We ordered the spicy seafood soup with glass noodles, bulgogi fries, grilled bulgogi, grilled galbi, sweet potato fries, and steam egg. They have all your favorite BonChon side dishes. The seafood soup had just the right amount of heat. The grilled galbi was a little bit on the chewy side. The bulgogi was perfectly cooked and tender. Sweet potato fries was a bit on the softer side and the bulgogi fries was a bit well done. Steam egg was perfectly done came out steaming and super bouncy. Service was fast and friendly. All the food came out super fast.
This restaurant has always been a long standing favorite of mine for late night Korean food, karaoke, and cocktails. The vibe is just a chill place for you and your people's to hang out. Staff is always helpful because it's always packed. It's been standing for as long as it has because it's that good and consistent. My favorites: chicken wings, corn cheese, the side dishes, and soju cocktails
This place is always fire and I can't rave about them enough. Not only are they open late, but they have fair prices and delicious foods. There is a bell you ring for service so it is quick and easy. I love their little booths and there is plenty of seating. I ordered gizzards (my favorite) last time I went. Truly one of the best places in convoy!
This place is a hidden gem! My husband had come here when he went to school at UCSD and wanted to come, so we came with friends. The food was pretty good, but the service was meh. I wish the food menu was also a bit bigger, but I enjoyed what we got. Galbi - Standard Galbi, always a hit! Nothing that makes it stand out, but the BBQ flavor just hit the spot with the fatty meat. Would get again when I come back! Bossam - HUGE portion for the price! Two people could have easily shared this dish. The meat was boiled and tasted a bit cinnamony which complimented the fatty taste of the pork. You dipped the pork in a sauce and wrapped it in a cabbage leaf with some garlic and kimchi. While simple, it was so refreshing and flavorful. Overall, delicious food and great portions! I definitely recommend getting the Bossam!
My friend who lives in SD says she comes here every week, so knew I had to come with her when I was here. We ordered the army stew, which is soooo much food. It's very kimchi heavy, which I liked and it made the soup really tangy and spicy. Came with all the usual buddaejjigae fillings like ramen, tofu, sausage, so much stuff. Also great with all the banchan. Pairs amazingly with soju and beer!

Quite surprised that I've never made a review on this place since I've frequently come here over the past decade or so. Min Sok Chon is a staple for late night eats. I will say though over time the quality of the food here has gone down. But what I appreciate is the fact that they're open all year round and they open late!! (Like 2am late!!) So if you're a night owl like me and scavenging for food that isn't fast food, Min Sok Chon is the place to go. I typically order the Kimchi Fried Rice, but I actually really enjoy it with Corn Cheese too. This time around I tried the Bossam here which I know it's pork belly but it was a little TOO much fat for my preference. I ended up separating the fat from the meat. My boyfriend ordered the Seafood Soup, it ended up being a lot more vegetables than seafood, and it tasted pretty watered down. I did enjoy that they refilled my Bon Chon sides to go, and it was in the cutest little to-go container that separated them all. So the food all in all I'd rate 2/5 because it was edible, but I gave this place an additional star because it's open late and it's a reliable place to go. I want to say the food quality was way better pre-pandemic. They also offer karaoke which I've never done before here

Decent place to get food in a large group before heading to KTV, or maybe try their onsite KTV. Portions are big and priced accordingly, and there's ample seating for bigger parties. HH lasts until 8 pm daily, and offers discounted beers and sojus. For our party of 6, food arrived quickly, but unfortunately the waiter forgot to bring some drinks and one main dish order. I liked the sweet chili shrimp, though it needed more spice. The seafood pancake was OK - friends finished it but I personally found it a bit bland and too soggy (prefer the crisper texture of a scallion only pancake). Parking lot is cramped so we street parked far away. They don't take reservations but the place still had plenty of seating on a Friday night.
Your visit at Min Sok Chon could be for drinking, good eats, or even a karaoke session! I came for a night of drinking and some food, and they have a gap for Happy Hour 5pm-8pm on weekdays. We like their soju cocktails, some tend to be very sweet than others! We liked our mix of lychee/passionfruit the best! Our server, Andrei was really helpful and made sure my friends and I had a great dining experience.
Large portions, lots of seating, and clean for the most part. The inside is dark and the music is loud. It's definitely a good place for late night food especially when other places are already closed. The service is alright, not amazing but not terrible especially since you press the button whenever you need them. The food is very shareable which is nice and tastes decent as well. For the price you pay, you can't complain. I'd come back if I needed a late night fix or if I wanted a fun night to drink with friends.
Min Sok Chon is one of my fav convoy stops because the food is very good and portions are large. I really like the kimchi stew but i will say their tofu servings for it are always off, you either get a lot of tofu or very little. Everything i have tried from them is great, my reasoning for 4 stars is because there is one server who is very rude and lackluster, i do not know his name and the other workers are amazing and kind but this guy is one i always hope to never get when i go in to order.....
I like coming to Min Sok once in a while. Over time, it's gotten a bit pricey, but the portions are solid. The smoked tuna has always been my go-to order whenever I'm here. It's a great spot for late night drinks and food with a group of friends.
We absolutely love Min Sok Chon! It definitely has more of a late-night vibe, but I've also come right when they open for dinner and was able to avoid the crazy lines. The galbi and wings are my #1 go-to. I will order them every single time I come here. The flavor is just perfection. Every time we come back, they taste just as good as I remember. They have an excellent selection of flavors for soju and other drinks. We recently came in after a concert on a random Tuesday night and felt terrible for the 2 employees working because they suddenly got SLAMMED. There were so many people, but they were doing their best to keep up. I believe the manager ended up coming in to help and I have to give him credit, he immediately jumped in and started helping wherever he could. read more

Ambiance is beautiful, I loved the dim lights aesthetic. Service is simple and at your own pace where you ring the buzzer and attended by staff as needed. Parking is a small lot in the plaza, sketchy vibes at night! The food however is not a favorite. But after a late night concert with nothing open except fast food, Min Sok Chon was the place to go. Maybe the food wasn't the best, but I have to give it to them for being open at the hour we went. But maybe we ordered the wrong things? Looks like a lot of ppl liked their fried chicken, but we just weren't in the mood for fried chicken and wanted a nice soup for ourselves. read more

Overall, a pretty solid Korean pocha spot in San Diego. The space is huge with plenty of tables! We were able to get seated around 9 PM on a Friday, which was a nice surprise. Parking was tough though, so plan ahead. Food was good and service was quick. One standout was the stir-fried intestines! Definitely not something you can find everywhere, and worth trying if you're feeling adventurous. read more
My first time coming here. We came closed to closing time so we ended placing our orders ahead on the phone (last call) and then dined in. This place is your typical KBar - vibey, medium noise, bit crowded, clean, dark, and spacious. Staff were very nice and friendly. We ordered: 1) Pajun - seafood korean pancake 8/10 2) Bacon-Masago Fried Rice - 9/10 3) Popcorn Chicken - 8/10 4) Flavored Soju (i forgot the name but i think it's arnold or astro soju??) 10/10 I really enjoyed my experience dining here. I'm leaving this review very late. But I came here last year in May with a group of friends. They had a small parking lot in front but luckily we were able to find parking. There were 6 of us and we were able to get seated right away. For Korean food you expect to pay the standard prices and share family style. The food is actually so good here. We ordered bulgogi fries, stir fried pork, bossam (sliced pork lettuce wraps), spicy chicken wings, and got two soju pitchers (Area 51 & the Hentai which was a secret menu item). They are known for their flavored soju. They have so many different flavors of soju with lots of options. The quality of the meat was super juicy. The cabbages and radish were so refreshing too. Surprisingly, we were super full after all the food for 6 of us. This is my friend's favorite restaurant and comes here all the time. He said the small intestines was very good which is what I want to get next time. I definitely want to come back to try other dishes and I recommend others to come here. They have karaoke rooms to rent as well. Hopefully I can check it out next time. Especially since it opens late too! read more

Got seated by the security guard which was a little weird. The dining area though was very cute and had these seating areas that make you feel like you're in a mini hut with wooden fixtures. I really enjoyed their kimchi chigae. Their dumpling soup though was lacking in flavor. The banchan was also on the less flavorful side. Parking in their lot was easy but we came closer to closing. so hearty! we got the spicy pork bulgogi hot stone rice pot & it was so flavorful and honestly pretty spicy. there was a lot more rice than meat though so a good amount was left behind super quick and convenient service because they have a call button at the table. staff came by really fast so you're usually never waiting around! i love the dim and secluded ambiance of this place. a very lowkey, laidback place to get korean food read more

Min sok is always a great late night stop for a group of friends! We did family style and thought overall, the food was really good. For the price point, I think we wanted more meat for our galbi order but other than that, no complaints! Our servers were really great and attentive even though it was pretty busy. I think it helps that there's the buzzer but we appreciated it nonetheless read more

Great Korean food! Was looking for a restaurant to eat after 11pm and stumbled upon here. Food was great, and the portions are more than enough for family style. Service is not rushed with service buttons for the customers. Would come here again for a late meal! read more

They're so easy to eat at -- cheap easy Korean comfort food with a few soju shots on the side. ;) Vibes are always a little rowdy and grungy, but that's the classic kbar for you! Overall not a bad meal, but nothing that made me want to share with everyone i know. The portions are pretty large; every dish we got is made to be shared. Between 3 people we had a lot of left overs. The japchae was one of the highlights of the meal as they were well seasoned and not too greasy as that's been an issue at other restaurants. The bulgogi wings are good, tasty, sticky, and enough we had about half left. The potstickers weren't anything amazing. Incredible large where I just had to hold it with me hand and sauce to dip was lacking compared to others. Bibimbap is a massive serving! There was plenty to go around and to also take to go. We did get an order of the soft tofu soup and while it is seafood it is an overwhelming taste and smell of it. So much it kind of was inedible which is unfortunate of the cost and size to waste. Overall a big area this is offers karaoke rooms which aren't as sound proof as I would've expected. They have a call button for each table which is nice to only call over when you actually needed them. Again the pricing really only justified the portions and not so much the flavor, but I'm not entirely dissatisfied. It was still a filling meal. read more
Stopped by this restaurant late on a Sunday night. It was my first time. The small sides weren't the best. Actually a little skimpy. The best part of Korean cuisine is the small sides they provide. I had the bulgogi hot stone rice bowl and the kimchi chigae soup. The bulgogi was tasty. The kimchi chigae didn't have much pork mostly kimchi and a few slivers of pork. If you're looking for Korean cuisine, it's worth a try and they stay open pretty late which was nice. Next time I want to try the Panjun pancakes. They looked good. read more
Stir fried pork with lemon and Galbi were so good! Both were really tender and had amazing flavor. The Parmesan garlic fries were crispy and a little sweet, one of the best I've had out of the Korean pubs I've been to. A fun Korean soju bar/restaurant to eat, drink, and vibe. The drinks and the food aren't anything special but the late night convoy vibes hit right here. Alien Juice/Area 51: Get Just good flavored mixed soju drink that'll be an easy crowd pleaser. Galbi Short ribs: Get Always a good choice, you can't go wrong with these flavorful and savory ribs. Bossam: Maybe? It's a lighter option than the above that's way less savory, it was enjoyable as well. Maybe you'll feel more healthy because it's a wrap lol Service was great in the beginning with a really friendly and nice guy but then changed to a stand off ish and curt dude after. After a night of after Gala partying, we started talking about food and I'm always down for some good Asian eats! So take this review with this in mind. Came from downtown SD but obviously means nothing food wise when compared to Convoy. Needed to sober up more before driving the longer distance to sleeping quarters. And what better than to have a comfort soup? Odeng coming to the rescue. I've been wanting to take photos of the aftermath of eating the food (I.e. an empty plate or bowl) but forgot. We were engaged in good conversation. But I finished it off. Sherry ate all of her chicken ramen and Connie (who drank the least) took her left over kimchi soup to go. Inside is a bit dark with spotlights at each table. Private but not private booth seating. Open slated dividers. Connie made the comment, "he's just right here! So close!" Like a true Korean spot, they have the doorbell buttons to ask for food, get the bill, and a third that I didn't look closely enough to know the function of. I can always count on min sok to be my late night Korean food spot. I've been going to this place since forever. Family sized portions & parking is usually dead on a weekday. Weekends are hit or miss on parking. Love their pork bossam plate, I always get this with my friends & pair it with one of their soju cocktail pitchers:) read more
It had been a while since I'd been here, mostly for the flavored soju, pre and post-gaming in my younger years. I will say I was surprised that it was pay to park in the lot although they give you complimentary 2 hours if you eat at one of the restaurants. The restaurant looked just as I remembered it and was quite empty at 6pm on a weekday. For the menu, they had a pretty good variety and was nice that it was happy hour (drinks only). I like to try the seafood pajeon whenever I go to a Korean restaurant and thought this one was rather large and thick and the seafood tasted fresh. The other item I ordered was the Budae jeongol aka army stew hot pot since I like all of the different ingredients that are in it and it's generally pretty large. And large it was indeed with a few different things like spam, hot dog, mushrooms and noodles. Generally I liked it but it was on the soupier side and it did not compare to the budae jeongol in Korea (yes, I know that this is America). Overall it was filling and hit the spot and brought back fond memories. read more

Do they still do karaoke? If so, do they take reservations? I tried calling but they didn't pick up and no voicemail was set up to leave a message.
I called in last week and they told me they have the karaoke rooms open and they take reservations over the phone!
Are individuals under the age of 18 allowed into karaoke rooms without an adult present? Are the karaoke rooms open currently? Can you choose ANY songs or are the songs limited to what the place has?
Last I was there (few months ago) everyone in the room has to be 21 and up, and there is no more karaoke :(
I'm interested in making a reservation for a private room for my birthday, with me and others who are under 18. Maybe Around 4 people including myself. Does there have to be an adult present since we are underaged?
When I tries to book a room about a month ago they said they don't do reservations for the rooms. They are first come, first serve and everyone in the room must be 21 and up. Hope that helps!

No. Reservations can be made by anybody. But if the majority of the party is under 21, they do ask those that are drinking to indulge at the bar

Small rooms (5 and 6) hold up to 12 for $35/hr while the large rooms can accommodate parties of 24 comfortably for $40/hr
