Oh my God, the Bulgogi french fries so good It's hard to find a restaurant. I can actually do a perfect balance of traditional Korean cuisines with a bit of magic touch us flavor

This place is always fire and I can't rave about them enough. Not only are they open late, but they have fair prices and delicious foods. There is a bell you ring for service so it is quick and easy. I love their little booths and there is plenty of seating. I ordered gizzards (my favorite) last time I went. Truly one of the best places in convoy!

My friend who lives in SD says she comes here every week, so knew I had to come with her when I was here. We ordered the army stew, which is soooo much food. It's very kimchi heavy, which I liked and it made the soup really tangy and spicy. Came with all the usual buddaejjigae fillings like ramen, tofu, sausage, so much stuff. Also great with all the banchan. Pairs amazingly with soju and beer!

Min Sok Chon is one of my fav convoy stops because the food is very good and portions are large. I really like the kimchi stew but i will say their tofu servings for it are always off, you either get a lot of tofu or very little. Everything i have tried from them is great, my reasoning for 4 stars is because there is one server who is very rude and lackluster, i do not know his name and the other workers are amazing and kind but this guy is one i always hope to never get when i go in to order.....

This place is a hidden gem! My husband had come here when he went to school at UCSD and wanted to come, so we came with friends. The food was pretty good, but the service was meh. I wish the food menu was also a bit bigger, but I enjoyed what we got. Galbi - Standard Galbi, always a hit! Nothing that makes it stand out, but the BBQ flavor just hit the spot with the fatty meat. Would get again when I come back! Bossam - HUGE portion for the price! Two people could have easily shared this dish. The meat was boiled and tasted a bit cinnamony which complimented the fatty taste of the pork. You dipped the pork in a sauce and wrapped it in a cabbage leaf with some garlic and kimchi. While simple, it was so refreshing and flavorful. Overall, delicious food and great portions! I definitely recommend getting the Bossam!

Decent place to get food in a large group before heading to KTV, or maybe try their onsite KTV. Portions are big and priced accordingly, and there's ample seating for bigger parties. HH lasts until 8 pm daily, and offers discounted beers and sojus. For our party of 6, food arrived quickly, but unfortunately the waiter forgot to bring some drinks and one main dish order. I liked the sweet chili shrimp, though it needed more spice. The seafood pancake was OK - friends finished it but I personally found it a bit bland and too soggy (prefer the crisper texture of a scallion only pancake). Parking lot is cramped so we street parked far away. They don't take reservations but the place still had plenty of seating on a Friday night.

Your visit at Min Sok Chon could be for drinking, good eats, or even a karaoke session! I came for a night of drinking and some food, and they have a gap for Happy Hour 5pm-8pm on weekdays. We like their soju cocktails, some tend to be very sweet than others! We liked our mix of lychee/passionfruit the best! Our server, Andrei was really helpful and made sure my friends and I had a great dining experience.

Large portions, lots of seating, and clean for the most part. The inside is dark and the music is loud. It's definitely a good place for late night food especially when other places are already closed. The service is alright, not amazing but not terrible especially since you press the button whenever you need them. The food is very shareable which is nice and tastes decent as well. For the price you pay, you can't complain. I'd come back if I needed a late night fix or if I wanted a fun night to drink with friends.

I like coming to Min Sok once in a while. Over time, it's gotten a bit pricey, but the portions are solid. The smoked tuna has always been my go-to order whenever I'm here. It's a great spot for late night drinks and food with a group of friends.

Overall, a pretty solid Korean pocha spot in San Diego. The space is huge with plenty of tables! We were able to get seated around 9 PM on a Friday, which was a nice surprise. Parking was tough though, so plan ahead. Food was good and service was quick. One standout was the stir-fried intestines! Definitely not something you can find everywhere, and worth trying if you're feeling adventurous.

Got seated by the security guard which was a little weird. The dining area though was very cute and had these seating areas that make you feel like you're in a mini hut with wooden fixtures. I really enjoyed their kimchi chigae. Their dumpling soup though was lacking in flavor. The banchan was also on the less flavorful side. Parking in their lot was easy but we came closer to closing. There's also dessert areas in the same plaza and nearby!

I'm leaving this review very late. But I came here last year in May with a group of friends. They had a small parking lot in front but luckily we were able to find parking. There were 6 of us and we were able to get seated right away. For Korean food you expect to pay the standard prices and share family style. The food is actually so good here. We ordered bulgogi fries, stir fried pork, bossam (sliced pork lettuce wraps), spicy chicken wings, and got two soju pitchers (Area 51 & the Hentai which was a secret menu item). They are known for their flavored soju. They have so many different flavors of soju with lots of options. The quality of the meat was super juicy. The cabbages and radish were so refreshing too. Surprisingly, we were super full after all the food for 6 of us. This is my friend's favorite restaurant and comes here all the time. He said the small intestines was very good which is what I want to get next time. I definitely want to come back to try other dishes and I recommend others to come here. They have karaoke rooms to rent as well. Hopefully I can check it out next time. Especially since it opens late too!

My first time coming here. We came closed to closing time so we ended placing our orders ahead on the phone (last call) and then dined in. This place is your typical KBar - vibey, medium noise, bit crowded, clean, dark, and spacious. Staff were very nice and friendly. We ordered: 1) Pajun - seafood korean pancake 8/10 2) Bacon-Masago Fried Rice - 9/10 3) Popcorn Chicken - 8/10 4) Flavored Soju (i forgot the name but i think it's arnold or astro soju??) 10/10 I really enjoyed my experience dining here. I will definitely come back next time I visit.

    Are children allowed?

I called and they said yes, as long as they don't drink.

Do they still do karaoke? If so, do they take reservations? I tried calling but they didn't pick up and no voicemail was set up to leave a message.

I called in last week and they told me they have the karaoke rooms open and they take reservations over the phone!

Are individuals under the age of 18 allowed into karaoke rooms without an adult present? Are the karaoke rooms open currently? Can you choose ANY songs or are the songs limited to what the place has?

Last I was there (few months ago) everyone in the room has to be 21 and up, and there is no more karaoke :(

I'm interested in making a reservation for a private room for my birthday, with me and others who are under 18. Maybe Around 4 people including myself. Does there have to be an adult present since we are underaged?

When I tries to book a room about a month ago they said they don't do reservations for the rooms. They are first come, first serve and everyone in the room must be 21 and up. Hope that helps!

Any update on when karaoke rooms will open again?

    Karaoke is open now!

Does anyone know what time happy hour starts here? :)

    5pm- 8pm.

Can you make reservations for the karaoke room? Or is it first come first serve?

You can only make same day reservations

Is this place open for private Karaoke now?

Not at this time - only for food and drink

Are they open for karaoke now?

Karaoke rooms will reopen in August

How much do they charge for the private karaoke rooms?

Are they open day after Christmas?

    Yes

For the karaoke rooms, does at least one person have to be 21 and over?

No. Reservations can be made by anybody. But if the majority of the party is under 21, they do ask those that are drinking to indulge at the bar

Vegan friendly options? or only vegetarian?

    Yes

How many people does each room hold?

Small rooms (5 and 6) hold up to 12 for $35/hr while the large rooms can accommodate parties of 24 comfortably for $40/hr

Can you call ahead to make reservations for the kareoke room?

    Yes, that's highly recommended

For the karaoke rooms, does every attendee have to be 21 or over?

    No

The room smelled a little funky when we first entered (like sewage); however it quickly dissipated but then it was just warm. They waited until after 9pm to start blasting the AC lol. Gotta make sure it's off-peak hours ya know. We were told to download an app on our iPhone (no androids) which would search/queue songs and act as a remote control. TBH, I thought it was so much easier to search on their kiosk screen instead of the phone. The song choice is decent. They don't have ALL of the new stuff but they had some recent stuff. Lots of mainstream old stuff for sure. They were really attentive. Brought us food asap, brought us water when we asked. We sang our hearts out for 2.5 hours and realized we couldn't hang anymore. We tipped on top of the room price. Overall good experience.

Our team was in town for our quarterly QBR last quarter, and we went out afterward to let loose on the town. We randomly came across Side Bar on a Thursday night and met Keagan, who completely transformed our entire trip. He was the ultimate curator! He immediately assessed our group's vibe, realized we were out for team bonding, and invited us right in, securing a fantastic VIP booth for my team. After a few shots and grooving to great music, he personally ushered us over to Gaslamplighter for a change of scenery, where we spent the rest of the night enjoying amazing drinks and live karaoke. The experience was so incredible that on our second night out, after hopping around various other bars in the Gaslamp Quarter, our team unanimously decided to end our night right back at Side Bar. Once again, Keagan took flawless care of us. He hooked us up with another booth and a few bottles. We happened to be celebrating a team member's birthday that night, and Keagan made it unforgettable. The staff brought out the full VIP treatment with bright sparklers and "Happy Birthday" signs to close out the night in style. What makes Keagan so special is his attention to detail. Even while working a packed club and making his rounds to ensure everyone was taken care of, he constantly circled back to check on our group. He made every single person on our team feel incredibly important and looked after on both nights. We walked away with fantastic pictures, amazing team memories, and a strong desire to return. Shout out to Keagan and the exceptional teams at both Side Bar and Gaslamplighter; memories were truly made! I highly recommend these venues for any group outing in downtown San Diego.

This time it was the post-party following the Elite Event: Halloween Prom at Tin Roof in downtown San Diego. Rock Out Karaoke takes the stage and continues to provide the perfect atmosphere for fun audience-fueled performances. My gamer past thinks back to the video game Rockband, where we took turns singing karaoke and playing toy instruments in front of the living room TV to a playlist with decades of pop hits. The game now sits in storage, but aspiring vocalists can continue their craft of singing with a live band, playing and providing backup vocals to your lead. I am not a singer, even as a hobby. I am still recovering from a cough & cold where I lost my voice, but after several rounds of liquid courage, I kinda wanted to give it a go. After listening to a few performances and doling out well deserved high-fives, a gal mentioned that the live band performance aspect was a completely different experience to the typical lounge scene. She really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again. I think it would be helpful to the fans and groupies if their schedule was easily found on their main website page. If it's there, I missed the link. My bad. I don't FaceBook, so I'm not looking there either. Just sayin'. I read someone else's review about ROK's limited playlist. While I am easily impressed with the band's repertoire, I could see how discouraged a potential singer would be if a favorite karaoke song is not available. Maybe expanding the library to include more classic and current songs wouldn't hurt. Ready for the main stage? If you enjoy karaoke and energetic music performances, then consider Rock Out Karaoke. There's nothing else quite like it in town. Doing it ROK style might leave you breathless, but you'll love the unique experience.
