So a month ago when I started looking for a paving company to fix our driveway, Yelp was the first place I went for recommendations and the obvious choice was ES paving. They came out quickly and gave me a very fair price. In the end, though, picking a contractor is about more than just price, you want the job done right and ES definitely delivered. The first group that came was led by Abi who went into our crawlspace to assess the scope of work they needed to do. Initially, the water in the space was thought of as being due to the severe rains in the area. The estimate was for water and mold remediation. Tonea Sutton, at the office, handled everything seamlessly: explained the process, gave me an estimate and scheduled the clean-up. On the scheduled day, the team, led by Abi, arrived on time and discovered that there was a sewer leak which, then, had to be addressed by a plumber. The scope of work that L4 had to do had to be expanded because of the need for biohazard clean-up. Tonea was very understanding about my frequents texts regarding my concerns about the cleanup. The estimate increased a little bit. I thought the pricing was more reasonable than other companies that came to give their assessments. Abi and team came over 3 days (over a period of 7 days) to make sure that everything was dry and sanitized before laying down the plastic on the soil floor of the crawlspace. I never had someone text me instructions about a potential home visit before but, as I'm desperate for repairs, I went with it despite my reluctance. I asked in the text to have the tech please share their license and credentials. I don't know these people. I just needed to know who I'm letting into my home. I received a call from a gentleman I assumed to be the owner or operator who took umbrage at me asking for the credentials of the tech, and proceeded to call it "weird" (that is the word he used) that I'd ask since, and I quote, "all we're doing is an estimate." I don't care if you were building the Ark of the Covenant divined by God himself, I am not letting someone in my home without knowing fully who they are. Call it paranoia, call it weird as that person did, but they can take that attitude and go the other way. I'll find someone else.

Communication & Assessment: I reached out via the contact form on their website and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they got back to me. They came out for an assessment shortly after and gave straightforward, candid feedback--zero sales double-speak or fluff. Their proposal was fair, transparent, and very reasonable. Execution & Timing: They scheduled the job a week in advance. While they ended up starting one day later than planned, it was a minor delay and they handled everything smoothly once on site. Their crew knocked out the entire job in a single day: removing the old, broken asphalt, laying down the new driveway, and applying the sealant. Workmanship & Cleanliness: My biggest concern was keeping asphalt and sealant off our bordering concrete and pavers. They promised to protect those surfaces and delivered 100%.
