My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. Their price is VERY reasonable, and the communication through Yelp was professional and transparent. It is rare to find a contractor who cares this much about the details. If you want a crew that is honest, skilled, and delivers a beautiful finish, call Zach. 1000% recommendation!

Zach made a strong impression from the start--when he came out to inspect my roof and I told him of a problem area, he went up on the roof to look at it! Replacing the roof took only one day, the crew arrived early and worked very hard. I also had the gutters replaced, opting for 6" gutters. The larger size has made a huge difference, as they're less likely to get clogged. My home is in good shape thanks to Winfield Builders!

Apparently they are unfamiliar with the fact that they are on Groupon so I had to call back when someone from the company was in the office to get on the schedule. They had availability for two weeks later. I wasn't in a rush so I don't mind the wait. I wasn't scheduled for the 12-4 time window. On the day of I had a work commitment that came up last minute. They were very accommodating when I called so I was pushed further back on the timeslot till after 3 PM so I could be home for the service. The technician Isaiah arrived and informed me what he was going to do. Afterwards he sent me a detailed report with photographs of my gutter system. Thankfully, everything looked good and I did not require any additional services after the cleaning and tuneup.

For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. Highly recommended.

Yep, another five star review for American Windows…read more We received three estimates for replacing three windows, a French door and a picture window. American Window undercut the estimates of the other two vendors by a substantial margin. We also really liked they only asked for a modest down payment. Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. We were amazed that the whole job only took 4 1/2 hours to complete. The windows and door materials are high quality and we are very satisfied with the results.

We decided to drive an hour out to their showroom without calling first. Even though they weren't open yet and are by-appointment-only, Phil greeted us without hesitation. It turned out they couldn't take on our small window sill repair since they didn't install the original window, but Phil helped us anyway! He gave us repair ideas, explained potential causes, pointed us toward the right tools, and gave us contacts who could help. To top it off, his cuddly dog Wilson kept us company, and Phil even recommended a local spot for lunch since he knew we had a long drive. We are completely speechless at his kindness and support, despite not even being paying customers. Based on this first impression, we would work with Phil any day. The world needs more people like him!

I called up Rooftop Designs and a week later had a new roof and they replaced/repaired the rotten wood all in a single day. They were very thorough and provided me lots of photos of the work done. My husband and I initially started working with RoofTop Designs July 2019. We had a team member,…read moreViktor, come out and provide a free estimate to us. He spent about two hours with us explaining all of our options and even negotiating a price point for us to consider. At that time, we were not in need of the roof replacement as much, so we let Viktor know via email (a few days later) that we were not going to pursue a contract. There was no pressure felt on our end and RoofTop did not hound us for their business in the future. We remembered our positive experience with RoofTop April 2020 (amidst the Covid-19 pandemic) and with the heavy rain and wind experienced in March, felt like we should move forward with a roof replacement. This time, we worked with Steve at RoofTop, completely over phone and email. Steve was responsive, professional, and understanding of the changes to our financial situation given the affects of the pandemic. My husband and I wanted to save as much money as possible and Steve worked with his manager to offer us a price point with a 2% discount if we paid upfront. I signed the contract electronically, mailed the check out on Monday afternoon, we had two contractors drop off the building materials on our roof with a crane on Friday afternoon, and the crew showed up right as they said (at 7:00 am on Saturday) to begin working. They were done around 6:00 pm. I requested extra care be given to the social distancing protocol and the crew obliged. They only knocked on our door to notify at the start of work, and that was it. My husband and I were relieved that we did not encounter too much debris at all in our attic bedroom. We had covered furniture with sheets, and vacuumed afterwards regardless, but only saw a few specks of dust. We were also grateful with how well the crew cleaned up. The only items we found discarded were two nails so far. Currently, we are worried that if there were more nails around our driveway, they can puncture car tires, but so far, we only found two. For the most part, my experience with RoofTop Designs was a positive one, but two days after the job, I received a call from Steve advising that we needed to pay an additional cost (hundreds of dollars more) due to rotting wood needing to be replaced (which the contracts could have only found after they started work) and the fact that we had two layers of shingles on the old roof that needed removal. I did not anticipate these extra charges totaling just shy of $1K (after Steve worked with us again). I wish I had known the extra layer of shingles would have increased our cost from the beginning, but given Covid-19 and the fact that in-home estimates were not an option during social distancing, I was penalized somewhat. All in all, we are grateful for our new roof and comforted that it is under warranty for parts and labor for the next 20 years.
