She just said something so condescending and rude. A little explanation of how I can preview the video, then pay for it after the die was done would have been nice. I didn't appreciate her at all. She was the elderly woman working the ticket booth around noon on Saturday, June 6, 2026. She might need to be retrained on how to give customer service.

We went on as many rides as we can, my son is too short for the bigger rides and unfortunately my nephew is too tall for the kid rides. A few rides weren't working at the time or they said it's been closed such as the gravity one, sawmill, and a boat one that was covered with a tarp. We had so much fun at the arcade, the prizes are the same as any ticket prize location, lots of games and on a hot day it's such a nice place to sit and relax. We didn't try the mini golf or the buccaneer water play area, it wasn't crowded so we definitely could've gone but we stayed at the rides and the arcade. When we entered the park, we double checked with everyone if there are rides open for his height and we were told there were plenty. Especially for the bumper car because that's what he's really looking forward to first time at an amusement park. So we spent $100+ to get in. She glanced at me and yelled, 'I'll check later'. When their turn was done, she slowly pushed the car to the side, took out the ruler behind her stand and told us oh he's not tall enough. I held it in, and asked politely if my son can sit at the passenger seat and I'll drive since there were seat belts. She said no way. Only because my 4 years old was so excited to get in there, I tried again, asking ' There's no one here yet, you don't need to turn on the machine, can he just sit on it and feel the bumper car for one minute?' Again, she said 'no way'. We understand you may have a rule to follow, but you could have tell us the second we ask you if we our height meet your requirement instead of getting a kid's expectations so high, letting him watch others playing and having fun, then turn him down while you are not even doing anything except watching bunch white adults riding the bumper car. Castle park could have a ruler showing at front saying below 42" are not gonna have any rides, instead, they charge full price for kids over 36" while have nothing preparing for them. Firstly, it is clear the animals are well cared for, and happy. They have expansive habitats and skilled handlers. We went all out and opted to feed the giraffes and to meet Jaali, the young male black rhino. (Add-on fee) The rhino meetup is at 8am, and you pet or brush him, and feed him a treat of green branches. There is seating for you, and the group is limited to 10; ours was full. You learn so much and never again will you be so close! The giraffes have a beautiful space for the small herd, including a calf which turned 1 year old the day we went. You feed them crisp romaine, which they clearly love. There is a LOT of land to cover, so wear proper shoes and weather-appropriate clothes! It is hilly, and dusty, expected, as we are in the desert. They also have lovely gardens, with many mature and rare plantings. Yes, prices for food and beverages are high (think ballpark prices...water is $7). The cafe is spacious and has a spectacular view of the PAlm Desert rocky hills, with the local Mountain Sheep! Connie and David in the gift shop were charming and so helpful, they have a great selection. This zoo also sends funds to other animal habitats, so your money is spread out. Parking is free. Everyone is bound to have their favorite animals; mine were the giraffes, rhinos, and wallabies. Save the chubby unicorns!

I have visited this zoo before and remembered it as a place where animals had more natural environments and where visitors could learn about wildlife and conservation. Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different experience. During our visit, we saw a pigeon with what appeared to be a broken wing, as well as a dead bird inside one of the exhibits. A group of us immediately flagged down a staff member to report what we had seen. Rather than showing concern, she seemed visibly annoyed that we had interrupted them while they were driving a golf cart. After I explained the situation, she rolled her eyes, said she would "let someone know," and drove away. For an organization that places such a strong emphasis on animal conservation and welfare, the lack of urgency and compassion we encountered from staff was incredibly disappointing. I sincerely hope this experience was an exception rather than the standard, but it left us with a very negative impression.

Unfortunately, we were only able to use the passes twice. When I originally asked the girls working at the front desk about the schedule, I was told that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. Based on that information, I felt comfortable purchasing the season passes because I knew my other kids would be coming back from vacation and we would have plenty of opportunities to use them. That ended up not being the case. The park was closed multiple times for private events, and then the schedule changed. I eventually called to check whether they were open and got a voicemail saying that they would now only be open on weekends until Labor Day. I emailed the park because I was disappointed and explained the situation. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like they were very helpful. I was basically told that the calendar had been posted since the beginning of summer and that it was my responsibility to check it. The problem is, I didn't even know there was a calendar to check. I was given information directly by the employees at the front desk that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. If someone had told me, "Our schedule can change, so please check our online calendar before purchasing," I absolutely would have done that. In fact, if I had known the actual schedule, I probably wouldn't have purchased the season passes in the first place. Because of the closures, private events, and schedule changes, I was only able to use my pass twice and couldn't use it when my other kids returned from vacation, which was the whole reason I purchased the passes. I think it's a cute little water park and could be a fun option for younger kids, especially if you're looking for something smaller than the big water parks. But unfortunately, the way this was handled left a really bad taste in my mouth. I completely understand that schedules can change and private events happen. What I don't think is fair is telling customers one thing when they're purchasing passes and then essentially telling them afterward that they should have known to check a calendar they weren't aware existed. I'm sure three season passes aren't going to make or break the business, but as a customer, I definitely feel like I got screwed over for simply trusting the information I was given by the employees.

The highlight of my visit was the Oak Tree Mountain slide. It's North America's largest all-weather outdoor tubing slide and 350ft of fun. My siblings and I took a ride down and got the best laughs.
