Ordered food for the first time from Ming Moon. I've never written a review anywhere before. Buyer Beware - $60 orange chicken ( had extremely weird after bite to it) lo mein ( my wife said it was good, but stopped eating it after her first few bites) beef chow mein ( one of the nastiest things I've tried, the small corn had this weird swamp water bite to it) rangoons ( what you would expect) Egg rolls (these tasted like they came out of a Walmart Great Value Egg Roll package, disgusting) Fried rice ( this was a shock to me, looked like Mexican rice and tasted just like it) In the end we could not finish any of it, ended up throwing away everything. read more

Stopped by this place for the first time earlier this evening. Ordered two entrees and a kids meals for dinner. Told them it's for dine in but turned out they deliver it in takeout boxes regardless dine in or take out. Why is this place even called restaurant if it's in takeout box? The food was ready in less than three minutes once the order was placed. And no plates were offered until after we specifically asked for it. I was like did they just microwaved the food? How can they prepare two entrées and a kids meal consisting of french fries and chicken in three minutes? Once we started eating, the food was totally bland and flavorless. We couldn't force ourself to finish it, stopped halfway, threw it in the trashcan and walked out. On the way back, stopped by panda express picked up an orange chicken and mushroom chicken and drove back home. Not sure if this place was always like this or because of Covid but we won't be returning here ever. Please save your Time and money somewhere else for your appetite. Very good Chinese takeout. We order at least once a month. Good ratio of meat and vegetables for every dish. Crab Rangoon are yummy. Chicken and beef are always tender and the vegetables are cooked perfectly.. Delivery time is usually under what they quote. Online ordering through a third-party didn't work well but when we called directly, they straightened it right out. Calling them directly gets you best service. Haven't dined in but great for delivery. read more

Excellent food. Quick delivery. Their style of Chinese food is exactly what I was looking for when we recently moved to Wylie from Southern California. It's not fancy, but is 100% delicious. Our kids love the cashew chicken and broccoli beef and I have to say they're quite tasty! They style reminds me of the old Chen's Express that was in Tyler in the 80s & 90s. Very flavorful, fresh and not heavy. Everything is cooked to order as should be expected and delivery is quick. The portions are really big and prices are great. We usually get several meals out of one order. I'm really happy to have such a great Chinese Delivery place nearby! read more

If Chinese take out is what you crave then give Ming Moon a try. New to the area, you'll find this little store front restaurant convieniently located opposite the Wylie Post Office on FM-544. There are only some 6 booths available so if you want to eat in during lunchtime it may be a bit of a challenge since it's usually very busy. My favs are the steamed potstickers (and I love the fact that you get 10!!), the wonton soup, the lo mein and the egg rolls. There is also a kid's menu for pint-sized appetites. Although there are several good Chinese places in the area, we frequent this one the most because the food is good, the portions are generous, the prices are competitive, the place is clean, and the staff is pleasant. The menu has a large selection of dishes, but it's odd because the same dish seems to be listed several different ways with different prices. Some differences make sense, others make you wonder why the price is different. Let me give an example: Lunch Special: Kung Pao Chicken $5.25 Chicken with Steamed or Fried Rice: Kung Pao Chicken $7.55 Dinner Combo with Steamed or Fried Rice + Egg Roll: Kung Pao Chicken $7.25 House Special with Steamed or Fried Rice: Kung Pao Combination $8.75 I understand the lunch special being less expensive because generally the lunch portion is smaller. The other 3 options I don't understand. Like if you get Kung Pao chicken with Fried Rice, it's $7.55 but if you get the same thing with an Egg Roll, it's 30 cents less? And what is a House Special or a Combination? Talk about cryptic descriptions! I'm guessing that since the House Special doesn't say "chicken" that it is a combination of kung pao chicken and kung pao shrimp? Or is it beef? What is it? Why not describe the dishes on their internet menu? Are they payng their web designer by the word? This isn't a telegraph! No, I think the issue is laziness. Why exert any more effort than the bare minimum? This laziness sentiment is echoed in the coupon section. The coupons are a year old, and the restaurant is aware of this, but they choose to leave the coupons online and inform any customers who mention the coupons that they have been expired for a year. (I looked at the month and day, didn't think I had to check the year as I thought it would be rediculous that a restaurant would have 1 year old coupons on their web site) Ok, so I was a little apprehensive to order when I found out about the coupon thing because generally when a restaurant doesn't pay attention to details, it's a very bad sign for the person about to eat their food. That said, I decided to try them anyway. Appetizer: The chicken sticks are good. Well worth the menu price. You get a good portion of chicken, and it is very tasty. Dish #1: General Tso's Chicken: This is the dish I almost always get when I eat Chinese food. The General Tso's dish at Ming Moon was hot, fresh and delicious. Dish #2: Kung Pao Chicken: I had no idea what Kung Pao meant, but it sounded kind of cool, so I thought I would give this a shot. It has an interesting mix of spices, vegetables and peanuts. It was pretty good. The kids hated it. (Too spicy for them) It would be a better experience if the online menu had been up to date and included descriptions of the dishes, instead of just their name. read more

I was very disappointed when my favorite Chinese place - Lucky Chan's - closed a few years back. It's taken me forever to finally settle on a new place to satisfy my take-out and delivery needs when I'm feeling lazy. Considering the plethora of Chinese food places in the area, I've stuck with Ming Moon for a few reasons. First of all, no: Ming Moon's food is not fantastic, out of the ordinary or revolutionary. You're not going to order the Orange chicken, taste it, and have an epiphany because it's the best, most awesome Orange chicken you've ever tasted. SPOILER ALERT: The Chinese food here is the same as Chinese food everywhere else. It's Chinese food, after all. It's definitely not disgusting by any means. It's exactly what you'd expect when you order Chinese. And as long as you're okay with that, then you won't be disappointed. However, there are things that Ming Moon does exceptionally well that make me choose them over the competition. The first is that they are FAST. I mean really fast. Granted, I live less than a mile from their location. But when I order my food - no matter when or how much I order - it's at my doorstep in fifteen minutes or less. I've spent longer waiting for my food to travel 20 feet from the kitchen to my table at sit down restaurant. And that food arrives hot and fresh like you wouldn't believe, too. I can definitely dig that. I'm definitely that kind of person who freaks out when they say it'll take an hour for my pizza to get delivered. Second reason I enjoy Ming Moon: Online Ordering! If you are one of those people who hate talking on the phone, take a long time to order, have detailed special requests, then you'll like this place's set up. You can browse their ENTIRE menu, choose what you want, which portion size fits you, and make special requests right on your computer! No worries about messing up big orders or fearing if the guy on the telephone heard you right. It's all there in black and white. You can take as long as you want setting up your order, changing your mind, etc, and then simply click "Checkout" when you're ready to go. BONUS: You can also choose to pay for the food and tip online or in person. On top of the ease of ordering and the quickness of delivery, I enjoy how expansive Ming Moon's menu is. Their portion sizes for entrees range from kid-size to the traditional "How did I get all this food"? The diversity and selection of the appetizers are really nice, too. Here's a shortlist of menu-items that I find particularly tasty: Broccoli Beef Crab Rangoons Dumplings Chinese Donuts (all they are are fried, sugar-coated biscuits, but they're SO GOOD). Sweet and Sour Chicken I have to admit I haven't tried but a fraction of Ming Moon's menu, but what I have tried is delicious. Plus can't we all just admit the beauty of Chinese Take-out is getting the same thing every single time and having it always taste the same and eat it all without having to care? That's my view, at least. So if you're ever in the mood for Chinese, or have a lot of people you need to feed, or are just having a lazy day at home and want food to show up on your porch as fast as possible, give Ming Moon a try. As long as you aren't expecting something other than good old-fashioned Chinese take-out, I think you'll enjoy it. read more

Just moved to Wylie and have been trying out all the places around me. Ming Moon wasn't great but it also wasn't terrible. I think the food was pretty decent. The veggies were fresh which is always a plus. The rice wasn't dried out. The sauce had good flavor. The inside however is why there are not more stars. It was a little out dated on the inside. We tried this place tonight for the first time. Portions were good and prices were pretty good. However, the food wasn't great. We threw away one entire entree (broccoli beef) because it tasted so weird that we were afraid the meat was bad. The sesame chicken was bland and just blah. The only thing we ordered that was really pretty good was the crab Rangoon. Basically, we spent $50 on crab Rangoon since that is the only part we actually ate. Contacted the restaurant to let them know my order was not correct and the employee just kept telling me it was my fault, that they gave me what I ordered. I told them that was incorrect and she basically said too bad, we are out of chicken now. So that was most likely the issue to begin with. I asked, "Is that a bin of chicken just sitting out in the open on that counter?, and of course they told me it was. No wonder the batter is stale. Used to order from here quite often but now the place looks dirty and the attitude from all is lacking in basic customer service. I miss the old sushi place that was here and their kimchi rolls. I just called and placed an order and called back a few seconds later to make it a combo dinner and was told by the manager that it was too late that they had already made my order. I informed her that I was still ordering the same plate but a smaller portion. Needless to say I had ordered 3 additional full size plates for a total of $42 for this order. When she told me it was too late, I cancelled my order and the manager called me back and stated to not ever call them because they would not make my order by phone. I informed her that I was still keeping my order but wanted just to get the dinner combo for my daughter since she's a small eater and didn't think it would be a problem considering it was less than 30 seconds that I had ordered. It's not the best but it can satisfy the cravings it's quick and a bit cheaper than other places in the area. If you do like spicy food than the spiciest things on the menu are general tsos extra spicy and Mongolian extra spicy. It may not be the best but as I said it's quick and easy. read more
