    dim sum
    Sam L.

Convenient place for dim sum downtown. Not the best dim sum I've ever had but the prices were nice and it hit the spot when me and my friends needed some food on the fly. I was excited for the Zongzi I ordered (rice and meat steamed in leaf) and it came out to not be that great. Overall lacking flavor and the meat felt cheap. I think I've liked other ming hin locations I've tried slightly better.

Our family had a wonderful experience here. This dish delivers a wonderfully savory experience. The portion is good and selection of dimsum is great. A true comfort food classic and one of the best dimsum we've had. Service was good and place is spacious and clean.

Loved Minghin!! Phenomenal hot & sour soup, truly the best I've had ! Great dumplings and incredible service! I preferred the south loop location over the other, feels more authentic! TVs were present so I got to catch some football and they give you free tea with your meal!! You order on an iPad! The only thing I will say is to Park on the street instead of the garage! Apparently it was event parking ( though no events were going on) and I got charged $70 lol!! Anyways Perfect solo time outside of the neighborhood!

This is a nostalgic place for me- not this location but the original one in Chinatown. I had to go to Minghin during our short visit to Chicago. I've been spoiled by good dimsum places in Southern California, but I was pleasantly surprised that Minghin dimsum tastes pretty good. All the classic dimsum items were solid. Happy that Minghin has more locations now.

Stopped in based on reviews and wanting dim sum. It was almost completely empty when we got there for a late lunch in a weekday in September. I'm sure it's a different story at dinner though. There are plenty of tables of different sizes making this great for a date or larger groups. I loved ordering from the tablet. It made it easy to decide what we wanted and pick new items to try. I can see that being annoying with a group though if you're all sharing one tablet which also doubles as the menu. We were promptly brought hot tea and water. Our food came out quickly after we ordered. Overall things were tasty. I wouldn't say anything blew me away but it was good.

Good place to grab a quick bite Apparently they are popular for their domain, but we just got their Chinese broccoli and stir fried noodles. Both were good but were lacking a bit in flavor. I really enjoyed the broccoli after adding some salt/soy sauce

Nice location near Millenium Park. Very nice selection of dishes. I was with a group of 6 and we all ordered something different and was able to try a variety of things.

Minghin was a great choice to find something warm and hearty on a cold day. We tried a couple dishes and the portions were huge - chow mein (5/5) I had never had thin noodles with toss dish but it was the tastiest of the three we ordered and we loved it - Kung Bao Chicken (4/5) I'm not usually a fan of peanuts in my food but it added a lot of great flavor and texture. This also comes with a small side of rice. I was hoping for something spicier - veggie fried rice (3/5): I felt that this lacked salt and general flavor. I liked that there was egg added in and the quantities are huge. Service was minimal, because we ordered on an iPad and didn't really interact with the waiter.

I enjoyed my food! They provided us an iPad and we ordered our food. The service was fast prompt and deliciously fresh. They did a very nice things for me. I was heading to a concert and they packed my food up and sent it off to the hotel for only $4. The atmosphere was perfect not loud and I defined plan on coming back.

    So delicious!

My love and I came here to celebrate my new job. We did the seasonal tasting menu at the Japanese sushi area upstairs. When we entered the restaurant it was beautifully decorated. Surprisingly there weren't a lot of people there for dinner at like 7pm. I was worried the food wouldn't be good, but I was pleasantly incorrect. Everything was SO delicious! So fresh and flavorful. I honestly cannot wait to go back and taste the next seasonal tasting menu, or even just the normal one. My boyfriend really enjoyed it as well. We really love uni and it was incorporated into a few different items, like a decent amount!! Yum! The fish was super fresh and fatty, melt in your mouth delicious. I seriously enjoyed every bite...minus this pumpkin stuffed one. I'm not a big pumpkin girly, so that's why. Drinks: They have a wide variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drink options to pair with your dinner. I was very pleasantly surprised. I've gone to one other omakase tasting and I was still starving after the other one and it was like 9 courses. This one I was so full and content afterwards. It was seriously worth it! Aesthetics: it is beautiful inside, you have the option to sit in traditional Japanese tables or the normal tabletops. We opted for the Japanese style set up. It was so beautiful. Service: our server was so sweet and attentive. He took the time to explain everything in great detail to us. He made wonderful recommendations on drinks and menu items. He checked in often to get our opinion on how we were enjoying each item and what our favorites were. You can tell that he and the chefs truly enjoy what they do. It was A+ service. Overall it was a flavor experience and a fun date night experience. I was excited to cut out this hidden gem tucked away upstairs of MingHin. I'm surprised more people aren't aware of this. If you want an exclusive date night experience filled with DELIGHTFUL bites and drinks, with unbeatable ambiance then THIS is your place. I highly recommend the seasonal tasting menu! Enjoyyyy

MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. A Chinatown institution for good reason. Just know what you are walking into and embrace it fully.

Be prepared to wait a little bit for a table, or share a big one with another party at peak times. Prices are reasonable and portions are pretty generous. ===== Kind of lost count of how many times I've been. Love getting the dim sum and noodle dishes here. Some favorites: beef cheong fun with egg, siu mai, Singapore noodle, xo rice noodle rolls, spare ribs, pork and century egg congee. All the food has been very solid. Inside is always bustling and can be a bit crowded. Service is pretty friendly as far as Chinatown goes, and very efficient. There's a guy who works there who I think is the manager or something, because he puts in 200x effort and is always hustling. When he's not around it feels like something is missing. Prices are very reasonable and we like ordering a lot here so that we have tasty leftovers for later. This place has quite a few big tables and is good for large groups. My only nits are that very occasionally a dish or teacup will have a dirty spot, and that the bubble tea here is kind of meh. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was a little watery and lacking in flavor. It's also probably tough since they're boxed in by boba places now. Pro tip: When you first get your table, they'll ask you what kind of tea you want. If you ignore them or don't know how to answer, the default is green tea. Another one is to come at off-peak times. Not only will you get a table faster, but I think they tweak their portion sizes depending on how crowded it is. Definitely will be back! And I recommend you visit too
