Tl;dr this place is very solid and my go-to dim sum place. I'm sure the seafood and everything else on their huge menu is also good. Be prepared to wait a little bit for a table, or share a big one with another party at peak times. Some favorites: beef cheong fun with egg, siu mai, Singapore noodle, xo rice noodle rolls, spare ribs, pork and century egg congee. All the food has been very solid. Inside is always bustling and can be a bit crowded. Service is pretty friendly as far as Chinatown goes, and very efficient. There's a guy who works there who I think is the manager or something, because he puts in 200x effort and is always hustling. When he's not around it feels like something is missing. Prices are very reasonable and we like ordering a lot here so that we have tasty leftovers for later. This place has quite a few big tables and is good for large groups. My only nits are that very occasionally a dish or teacup will have a dirty spot, and that the bubble tea here is kind of meh. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was a little watery and lacking in flavor. It's also probably tough since they're boxed in by boba places now. Pro tip: When you first get your table, they'll ask you what kind of tea you want. If you ignore them or don't know how to answer, the default is green tea. Another one is to come at off-peak times. Had to go with the dim sum goodies since it had so many things we'd never seen in any Michigan Chinese restaurants. Sweet walnut buns, fried bean curd skins filled with deliciousness, brisket with rice noodles that looked like Korean rice cakes, meatloaf, and more. Everything was outstanding, with various sauces presented with different items. This was new for us as well. A deep red vinegar with some fried dumplings, a tasty black sauce with the fried stuffed bean curd skins, a sweet plum sauce with the fried skinny shrimp rolls, it was really fun food. Really had a good dim sum meal. All the food was very tasty and done really well. You just order off the picture menu, note how many of each and then they bring it out as it steams. It's not a large place but seems like a very decent crowd for lunch on a winter weekday. My brother who goes to Chinatown said this was one of his default go to for dim sum, so that's why we went. Came here on a Saturday morning and super thankful to be seated early. There was no wait! You order through a piece of paper selecting what you'd like to eat. Make sure to put what size you would like in the boxes or else they will automatically give you the largest size. The food was delicious but the service was another story. My party and I didn't get the best service. We'd ask for extra bowls and condiments, but it seemed like we were annoying the servers instead. Even when asking for the bill, it was hard to flag them down. When it came to leaving, the server saw that there was a low tip added to the bill and became unhappy. They cornered my one friend (three vs one people) and demanded more tip money. They didn't let her leave until they got her credit card to tip more money. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this was going on and thought she was using the restroom. This experience was quite fustrating/traumatizing so I will not be going here again. We didn't like the dim sum here. Not much taste and things were a bit cold. At least we tried it and can stick to our favorite places. We ordered a few usuals and tried a couple new things. The potsticker had a good amount of filling but it was cold. Yes pan fried and it came out cold. The preserved pork congee had no taste but came out with the fried dough you normally have to order extra. The Siu Mai's were small and didn't look appetizing. Then we ordered a chicken sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leave and when we opened it, it smelled spoiled. We returned it and they took it off the bill. And they didn't question us. Located in the older part of Chicago Chinatown on Wentworth Ave. They will validate your parking ticket to be just $2 for 3 hours at the 2 parking lots off Wentworth in Chinatown. Serving up dim sum and Cantonese cuisine with lunch specials at $8 per plate. We ordered dim sum of chicken feet, beef chow fun noodles, tapioca fried ball, and rice roll. You won't find servers pushing the dim sum carts here, but the food was delicious. They also serve boba drinks, but I didn't try. A smaller place with old music videos of Cantonese singers playing in the background. Bonus points if you speak Cantonese, but not a must. I'll definitely return! read more

Went for dim sum and was pleased with what we got. There's a slight ramp walking in--although it feels narrow for a wheelchair, it's technically doable. We got a seat by the window, so it was nice and bright. The servers were attentive and helpful. What we got: Scallion pancake - This was surprisingly one of our favorite things we ordered! Nice layers and crispy. If you like the doughy, chewy kind, this one might not be for you. E-fu noodles - Super flavorful. I feel like it's hard to mess this up, but some places do. This is a very kid-friendly dish--noodles with sliced veggies and mushroom. Turnip cake (lo bok goh) - Flavor was great--maybe a little more seafoody than other places. Texture wasn't bad, but also not my favorite. This was light and tender but not as delicate as I like. It has some chunks of radish that are slightly tacky in texture instead of really smooth and silky. Still would order again because it tastes great. Rice crepe (cheung fun) - Another surprise! We got pork--my husband thought it was barbecue pork (char siu)--but it was just this tender, tasty marinated pork. The meat was juicy and not dry at all. Soup dumplings (xiao long bao) - Always a fun dish to order when a restaurant has it. These were pretty good! The broth wasn't fatty and the meat tasted good. The dough was a little thick but it's hard to get it all right. Our kids like this too. Chow fun - Such good flavor! Just wish it was crispier. Another kid-friendly dish! Shrimp dumpling (har gao) - This was ok. I think the outer wrap could be thinner and the shrimp could've been shrimpier. But a classic dim sum order that we just can't not get it. Pork dumpling (siu mai) - Also just ok for me--a little too much mushroom. But if you like mushroom, then maybe this will be excellent. Walnut bun - Wow! K best for last. This was our kid's pick, and boy was it the winner. Try this! And make sure to eat it while it's still warm. The inside is like this rich, nutty, not overly sweet, filling that's almost custardy. The bun itself was so soft and just a nice had a nice chew. 10/10 would order just this if I only wanted dessert. We also got this sampler dish with chicken feet, spare ribs and vegetables. Came for a weekday brunch for dim sum. The place was not busy but by the time we left it was pretty busy. We ordered from their menu, they have a pretty standard offering of items. There was 1 item the chive deep fried dumpling was the only one that was really different from other dim sum locations. We ordered the following dishes (**= especially recommend): - Pan-fried beef with rice noodle: always a classic and go-to in any traditional Chinese restaurant; this one was cooked and flavored perfectly. - Eggplant Casserole**: super good! the eggplant was really delicious, creamy, and intensely flavorful. - Salt & Pepper Egg Tofu**: I'm always a huge fan of egg tofu, and this one was cooked very well, retaining lots of flavor with a crispy exterior and soft silky interior. - Walnut Shrimp: always delicious and a classic. - Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab**: really delicious! This dish was flavorful, crispy, and well-fried. - Sweet and Sour Fish Filet: this one was not a highlight; I wasn't a huge fan of the sweet and sour sauce and felt the flavors were too simplistic overall. - Szechuan Style Mixed Seafood with Vegetable: this dish was just okay; the seafood was a little overcooked and tough in texture. This is definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Chicago! They have a wide array of dishes, and they do pretty well in being authentic. They have a slightly smaller space, but they have adequate round tables to seat larger parties and we were able to be seated pretty quickly despite it being packed. A lot of the dishes reminded me of my childhood growing up, and the seafood dishes are actually pretty quality. Definitely recommend the lobster noodles and the sweet and sour pork (bone-in of course). The place is relatively small when you think of the larger "palaces" that serve dim sum, but it seems to still accommodate quite a number of people. When full, smaller parties tend to be seated in the communal large round tables. And the place does get crowded during prime time. The food here is solid. We came to Wentworth Seafood for their dim sum lunch menu which is a bit limited, but they do serve the basic and more popular items. Their pork sui mai and shrimp har gow were very good. The crispy shrimp and chives dumpling is a different take to the typical steamed dumpling version. The pan fried turnip cakes were decent size. They also have lunch specials to choose on their menu. The beef chow fun was tasty. The only disappointment is their wonton noodle soup. The soup had no flavor and the entire dish was bland. Service was friendly and good and the food came out well paced, but possibly by accident. Our party of 4 returned here for a Friday lunch.  It's been 4.5 years since I was here, and I really didn't remember it, but they have a comfortable and airy space.  It was fairly busy at the time but service was quick and attentive. We had an 8 item lunch comprising of 6 dim sum items and a couple of entrees (a chicken feet and spare rib rice and a mixed mushroom rice noodle dish).
