The food, decor and service are stellar! I was born and raised in Lexington, but moved to Georgia after graduating undergrad where I have remained since. We didn't have anything as unique, inviting with such engaging service when I was growing up and going to school in Lex! I only wish I could stop in at least once a week for a bite and the exceptional, kind and genuine people that work and tend to patronize this one of a kind place! Can't recommend enough - if you're considering just do it!

This is a gem located in Lexington. The menu is not big but everything looked delicious. We started out with Bloody Mary's and they were delectable. I ordered the fried egg tostado. The black beans were so full of flavor. It was a fantastic breakfast. Our waitress was adorable and so much fun. The music was the 80s and we were dancing and laughing. Highly recommend and hopefully will be back

Fat Man Reviews set out for a local lunch/brunch spot on a hazy Saturday morning. Minglewood is an easygoing, warm stop serving Southern-style comfort cuisine with global influences plus drinks. I started with a Cult of Personality drink made with Cazadores reposado tequila, orange liqueur, fresh mango juice, mezcal blueberry drizzle, soda, and basil. The orange and mango smell hits right away, then you taste the tequila, and there is a fair amount in the drink--the soda waters down the drink a bit and the blueberry is all at the bottom, so it only comes through a little. Once stirred and combined, everything makes for a sweet drink but a little thick. My fiancé tried the Eggs Your Way, which comes with three eggs any way you like; she chose scrambled with cheese. The meal has three pieces of bacon, house potatoes, and French toast. The potatoes are cooked to a crunchy outside with a soft creamy inside and are seasoned well. The French toast was a little stale, with lots of cinnamon, but it had a good chew. The eggs are cooked well, fluffy, and light. Her bacon was thin and had a good crunch to it. The portions are not huge, but it is filling. I had the Cali Burger, cooked medium, with pepper jack, bacon, avocado, fried egg, heirloom tomato, and herb aioli with hand-cut fries. The fries are good and crunchy with proper seasoning. My burger had a good-sized patty, cooked to an appropriate medium with a good amount of seasoning. The burger was on a brioche bun, and the ratio was almost equal from burger to bun. The entire burger and condiments are a big bite, but not so big most people couldn't eat it. The pepper jack is not very spicy, and the sandwich could use the kick of heat. The bacon was crunchy with a slight chew, while the tomato was sliced thick. The egg yolk and avocado combine for a creamy, fatty bite. I wish I could get more of the herb Aioli, as it gets lost under everything else. Minglewood offers a full bar and canned beer. They have a small menu with brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The staff was amiable. This is a smaller restaurant, so there may be a wait. The Fat Man says that Minglewood is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.

We originally stopped by to visit the restaurant next door but they closed early ( SOOOOOO annoying but I understand, it was raining and probably a slow day) but to OUR delight, this cute little spot welcomed us with open arms!! The staff were so friendly I thought we had won the literary! It was really the genuine friendly you hardly ever find. Our waitress recommended her favs and we went with Chicken wings- WHAAAT! These babies were my absolute favorite. They were probably the smallest pieces of chicken I'd ever seen which means it's probably reallllll chicken, the flavor was SOOOO unique and so was the dipping sauce. They were so good we couldn't stop eating them. - the guac with chips- HOW DO YOU MAKE HOMEMADE CHIPS THAT GIVE YOU THE VIBE THAT A CHEEZ IT AND A PITA HAD A BABY?!? The guac by it self hands down the best guac I've had and those unique chips... what... so good!! The burger- while I just needed a dash of Mayo because I'm THAT girl, I was SHOCKED to taste a burger that had a Smokey grilled on the bbq pit flavor made from a regular kitchen!! Such a SOLID burger. It was indeed a unique flavor and the chef came out and explained all she did was put salt and pepper on it. I said NO MAAAAM there's a pit hidden in your kitchen. The tostada- divine! Again all the flavors were just so uniquely place ever so effortless. Wow wow wow! French toast was a passsss. When you stumble upon greatness; your left with wanting more. And that my friends... was a very complete 5 star meal!! I really enjoyed Kentucky as a WHOLEEEE!

Very hipster place with friendly and fast service. Small but nice inside, also has nice decor. Loud music indoors, but also has outdoor seating. Great and yummy food. Really enjoyed the Brussel sprout salad. I would recommend but not for big groups!

Interesting vibes at Minglewood, I came on a Friday night and it was moderately busy. I called beforehand and was able to reserve a table, but upon arriving there was no host. We found a server who led us to our table. The menu was quite short and seems as though it may change regularly based on the fact it was different from what I saw in previous Yelp Reviews. I did not find very many appealing vegetarian options, but they do have an all-day brunch menu. I had the creamy mushroom pasta with no added meat, it was okay, nothing special. My friend had the nacho appetizer and was also relatively unimpressed. Our drinks were the best part, a blackberry mule which did not have the price listed on the menu (it was $11.50). For the price ($14 pasta), I was not impressed with the food here. The decor was cute and music decent, but I would rather come here just for cocktails next time. PS-- they do not accept Discover cards.

A great cute spot in downtown Lex for drinks and dining! My most recent experience at Minglewood was for brunch this past weekend. Our group had made reservations as it was for Mother's Day- so I couldn't say if reserving a spot would be required necessarily on a non-holiday weekend. The space is relatively small and includes bar seating- maybe room for about 10-15 tables. The brunch menu while not being super extensive, has a decent amount of options. You are able to order off the regular lunch/dinner menu as well. We decided to start with the grilled pimento cheese sandwich to split to start that came with fries. The fries were more "fry" than potato- but definitely delicious! For my entree I ordered the veggie tacos which were made with a spicy quinoa and black bean mixture that was really tasty. All of our orders were presented artfully as well; very yelp-picture worthy. One thing I'd note was that it was a little cold inside as the door was set open and it was a chilly spring morning. Our table setup was a little awkward as the booth seats were higher on their side than on the chairs opposite- so I'd definitely seat the shorter person on the booth seat so no one feels like they're being interviewed haha. I also noticed one long table in the back with bench seating- ok for school cafeterias, but not the most comfortable for enjoying a meal.

We decided to stop into Minglewood on a whim, and our experience was okay. To be honest, I was slightly disappointed with our time there, despite friends raving about Minglewood. The cocktail I had was amazing! It was called Olfactory Hues, made with brut champagne, raspberry lemonade, lavender syrup, and fresh lemon. It was garnished with Rosemary! It looked beautiful and tasted delicious. The cocktail was light, refreshing, and fun! We also ordered the face plant into guac appetizer. It was really yummy!! The guacamole was made fresh, as was the salsa and tortilla chips! Unfortunately a tiny portion for the price. My boyfriend had a rhinegeist canned beer. At first he had ordered a modelo, and when they realized they were out our waitress came over to offer something else. Except for, when we asked for options and different beers, she didn't know!! And responded, "oh, I'm sorry, I can't read the chalkboard menu from here!" And did not help us at all. Disappointing that the staff was not knowledgeable about their own selections. Lastly, there was an older man in the back of the restaurant (who I'm assuming was the owner, but unsure) walking around without a mask and inviting many people in, also not wearing masks. It made us uncomfortable that people were walking in and out of the area where food is prepared without masks and sitting around chatting without taking COVID precautions.

Never wrote a review in my life but had to write something about this garbage excuse for a restaurant. Absolute joke of a management staff. Went yesterday before the UK Game around 6:45 PM. Tip-off was at 8:30. Told our waitress (who was clearly high as a kite) that if we couldn't get our food by 7:30 then don't worry about it because we absolutely had to meet up with people at 8 and needed to leave 30 mins before then. She assured us that it would be out quickly. 7:30 comes around, still no food. Told them we just need to pay for the drinks and go. They said we would still have to pay for the food that wasn't even close to being ready. The asshole of a GM gets in my face saying it's "theft" and has his little phone out saying he's going to call the cops. Then psycho owner / chef "Trish" stumbles out of her hole of a kitchen and starts threatening me too. Getting all red faced and screaming. She's an extremely entitled piece of shit and the legal action I am pursuing against her personally and Minglewood as an entity has nothing to do with the money but solely to put her in her place. Apparently every restaurant she touches turns to dust -- no surprise this one will go under soon too. Might take up their lease and open my own restaurant just to dunk on her after hers fails. Bottom line: these clowns held me against my will and forced me to pay for food that we never received. What a business. Also have had the food at this place once or twice before and it sucks. Small portions and food is mid at best. Overall just a very entitled and arrogant staff running a very mediocre restaurant. Thank God Jack Browns is going in next to it -- it'll put them out in a month. AVOID THIS TRASH! read more

My new fave place in all of Lex. Love the people, the food and the drinks. Great atmosphere, music, friendly people. Good beer, drinks and specials. Cali burger is great.... and so is everything else I've tried! Has outside tables, no tv inside (or not on when I was there, anyway), which I love. Try it out. Finally made it over here to brunch... parking downtown is normally a nightmare at times throughout the week but Sundays aren't too shabby. This place is super inviting and casual. Come as you are kind of place which I adore. The music style is alternative rock. Heard everything from new Incubus to No Doubt while in there (seriously made my day... we DON'T have enough places like that in Lexington). They have $5 bloody Mary's and mimosas throughout brunch time. We started with waters and when we asked for a straw they let us know the owners didn't have that there because they're environmentally aware which I really respect, imagine if we all did a little more what that would look like. Totally got my wheels turning. I opted for the grilled pimento cheese with bacon on wheat. Super noms. On the suggestion of the server I had the chipotle aioli as a dipping sauce for my fries and it was tasty. Great place tucked away on Limestone. Kudos for staying true to the cause (insert *finger guns*). read more

Saw this place while driving to my sister's wedding dress fitting and decided to try it out. The sign for $5 mimosas definitely helped sway our decision to go in. We ordered eggs your way and the fried egg tostado off the brunch menu and they were tasty. Definitely came with portion sizes that will fill you up. I would come back. It's located downtown so a nice easy walk to the farmer's market on the weekend. read more

I've been here for both brunch and lunch. I really enjoyed both experiences. There was a great crowd for brunch and I recommend the egg tostada entree. The bloody Mary's are delicious! For lunch I liked the siracha shrimp tacos. It's a cute intimate space and they also offer some fun daily food and drink specials. read more

I've had the takeout Sunday dinners several times during the Covid19 pandemic. Trish and her staff make great meals - good ole comfort food! I recommend this to anyone. Order on Friday or Saturday and pick up on Sunday. Check Facebook for menu and ordering details. My meals have included fried chicken, curry over rice, and pasta Alfredo with steak and veggies - all very delicious as are the wings! Check it out - your taste buds will love you! read more

I'm not one to write a review but I couldn't not complain about this place. "She does not take temperature requests on bacon" because she cooks it all in the morning. Very raw bacon, burnt eggs, grossly over cooked fries. The staff was affable, at best. Cocktails were delicious though. Delightful new spot on Limestone. Smallish menu with a delicious take on bar food. We had a double stack of fried green tomatoes and pulled pork, sliced grilled bread and house made pimento cheese with pickled jalapeños... Let me tell ya, this was an amazing pairing with a cold Ei8ht Ball Dalton Creek sour! The pork was sweet and tender with a yummy turmeric pickled topping... It was all we could do NOT to lick the plate! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had a few questions about the food and drink menus - the bartenders made great suggestions! Stopped by for Taco Tuesday. I've been here a few time before and the food is pretty good but I was very impressed with the tacos. You get 4 street sized taco for $12 but that was more than enough. These were made with ground turkey with a nice seasoning with a touch of spice, homemade pico, queso, avocado, and a lime. They were fantastic. I would definitely recommend stopping by on a Tuesday for the tacos. Well, stop by anytime, and you will have a great experience. And don't forget the waitstaff because they are amazing, attentive but not over, and will hold a conversation with you. read more

I absolutely love scratch kitchens. Recipes that are well thought out and meticulously put together. Minglewoods hit all the right marks last Friday night. My green pork chili tacos were excellent. Who would have ever thought Jalapeno infused mescal blueberries would be great on a taco. They were awesome! Crazy delicious! Great place to eat with friends. Service was top notch and drinks fantastic. Parking around this restaurant can be tricky. All paid or restricted lots. It was worth the effort. Reservation is a must if you are going during prime time hours. No Open Table connection. Email or call the restaurant. They will take care of you. read more

Not the best brunch experience! The service was great so let me say that! She was knowledgeable, hospitable but she seemed to have to make excuses for the ambiance. We asked 3 times to have the music turned down a bit so we could hear each other talk over brunch. Were we successful with our requests unfortunately really no. The music was turned off (our request was turned down-we aren't that difficult!) 15 minutes and it was right back up. The server did try to get the music turned down but it seems management overruled. Ambiance is sorely lacking...run down building. My Bloody Mary was flat amazing!! Loved it! It took so long to get it however that I didn't bother to order another one. The food was passable and be aware small portions. I had the Green Chile Pork tacos and my husband had the Pigs Got Wings. Will we return? Not a chance. read more

Sundays are meant for brunch and great Bloody Mary's. So naturally when I woke up last Sunday morning I went right to Yelp and checked for a good Bloody spot. I was immediately brought to Minglewood. We were pumped and arrived around 11AM only to be greeted at the door by a sign saying they unfortunately were closed till 1PM. We had to go else where to eat which was a major bummer, but we stopped in for some drinks later on when they were open and we really enjoyed ourselves. The bartender was super friendly and made small talk here and there. Beers were fairly cheap and although we didn't end up getting our bloody mary's we wanted so much they looked pretty decent from across the way. While sitting at the bar we noticed the lights would go out every once in awhile. Thought it was strange till I read on the bottom of the menu they use less power! Environmental friendly places are RARE and even more awesome to find. They also only carry can beer and recycle everything! Great job, Minglewood. read more

It's taken me a while to get down to Minglewood for brunch but I've always heard good things. The restaurant is really cute and cozy with a variety of different seating areas, including a bench eight pillows at the back. The bloody Marys and mimosas are $5 on sundays- the spicy Bloody Mary has just the right amount of heat. I am a sucker for pimento cheese so of course I got the blt- it was really tasty! My friend ordered the French toast special which had Brie, apple butter and blueberries- so good. I will definitely be back tot eh the dinner menu soon! read more

We were visiting Lexington for the first time and our host suggested Minglewood. We ordered the High on Cheese and the chicken wings. Both were very good! Our cocktails were also good...would love to see more options on the menu, but it was great overall! read more

This place has great food and service. The staff was able to quickly accommodate our group of 7 at 8pm on a Saturday night. The service was great. The food is amazing. Highly recommend the house-made pimento cheese which comes with jalapeños and toasted bread. The chicken wings were so good we ordered a second round. The Turkey Sloppy Joe's and Brussels Sprout salad were also excellent. read more

It was a perfect happy hour spot. We sat at the bar and ate burger, Brussels, and pimento and cheese that was incredible. The burger had an orange jam on it and it was perfectly cooked. I'm not a fan of the whole potato fries but my coworker loved them. The brussel sprout salad was AMAZING! It really had a unique flavor profile and you could taste all of them. We added chicken to it but it didn't really add anything to the dish. Finally, I ate the pimento and cheese with bruschetta bread... IT WAS Soooo GOOD! It tasted homemade and Smokey and was topped with jalapeños. The drinks were very fresh and flavored perfectly too. I had the sour diesel (bourbon and sour mix based drink), watermelon mojito, and a dirty martini. Bartender was very friendly. 4 stars because I wouldn't eat here for dinner because the menu just isn't robust and only has around 7 things on it, BUT if you want something light and wonderful drinks, I highly recommend (or you could just try all of it like I did and eat heavy lol). read more

Ran into this little gem. Delicious! Chicken drums were like no other I've ever had. The meat effortlessly came off the bone and the skin was crisp and super tasty. I also had the asparagus salad. Yummy. Hubby had the tacos which were also delicious - tortilla was semi toasted which gave it that special flavor. All our tastebuds were awaken at this place. Absolutely awful service. My girlfriends and I came in from out of town and made reservations to celebrate her birthday and waited over 30 minutes for the crew to take our orders. We made reservations accordingly to make our other plans work and it ended up disrupting the rest of our day. Not only did they not apologize for the disruption but didn't expedite our orders in anyway. Extremely disappointed with this overall experience. read more

Very cool spot. Small inside, crowded tables. Creates a more intimate and shared experience than a crowded one. Friendly staff. Pricing was really great. I had the burger. I was expecting it to be good but I was not expecting to fall in love with it. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Girlfriend had the shrimp tacos. She enjoyed them but I didn't try them. We shared the sprout salad and man it was a treat a different taste than what I was used to, but instantly pleasing. Honestly I want to go back to this place asap. read more

On this particular occasion, my wife was at a banquet in the downtown Hyatt, so I took myself out for dinner and drinks at some new places. This was stop #3, and it was by far my favorite. I found a seat right at the bar and started looking over the extensive cocktail list. As I took in the atmosphere, I noticed several couches, a long bar, and some open area by the front. The bartender working while I was there was Jordan, who runs the bar as well as one of my favorite Lexington late night spots, Centro (another 5). And when I say he "runs" the bar, I mean it. He managed to make cocktails and keep the line moving mostly by himself while I was there. He recommended the Quiet Beatle, which I thoroughly enjoyed for a perfectly reasonable price. I got one more vodka soda when things calmed down a bit, and went on my way. There are little bites available, as well as an extensive cocktail and bourbon list. This is definitely a place you can meet a group of friends for happy hour or late night drinks, or have a nice date. I can't wait to come back!

The prices were reasonable & it was all good--fast & fresh. The screen was crisp, clear, big & bright--good quality & enjoyable to watch. In my opinion, an employee parking people, or at least driving through before the movie starts, would make the experience even better. Most of the customers were taking an extra spot for their chairs, which is against the rules & resulted in a lot of people having to park adjacent to the screen or far away, & there were some tall trucks toward the front that blocked the bottom of the screen. Despite that, it was a great experience & we can't wait to go back!

BLM gathering spot - stay away as you may be accosted for having a different viewpoint. I just don't understand why restaurants like this are so racist that they can only cater to one type of political belief. Don't go unless you think just like the owner - Even then, I'm sure she may find something to be disagreeable with you about. The food?
