I came here for lunch, and as I was perusing the lunch specials, the server, possibly the owner,…read morestated that today, October 31st, being Halloween, it was considered to be a holiday. I thought that was odd but okay. Since I've never frequented this establishment before, I always order the Drunken Tofu Noodle along with curry puffs to see how it is. It's my barometer for judging how they are as a Thai restaurant. The server mentioned their curry puffs contain chicken as an ingredient. I was fine with that. The server boasted that they make it in-house, so I was looking forward to it. After she placed it down and I took my first bite, I was expecting it to be crunchy as it's fried. I was met with it firstly, with it being room temperature. Taking my initial bite, I was disappointed with the lack of crispness. The stuffing inside was also very mushy, and it was supposed to be chicken curry puffs. I was, however, able to taste the curry powder, so that was good. The Drunken Noodle had American broccoli and baby corn in lieu of onions and carrots for vegetables. I was expecting the usual long flat noodles, but the flat noodles appeared to be broken into shorter pieces. At the time of my ordering, I had no idea it didn't come with the standard tofu because they kept asking if I wanted shrimp, chicken, or beef. I was surprised when they upcharged me an extra $2 for the fried tofu. My stomach was bothering me today, so I asked for it to be mild. It definitely took me by surprise as it was spicier than I planned for. It was extremely greasy; however, the taste of chili paste was evident, giving it a good flavor. After finishing up, the employee asked me a couple of times if I desired any dessert, to which both times, I indicated I was quite full, declined, thanked them, and requested the check. I could see the clear disappointment on their face. The ambiance is quite beautiful, and their food was tasty. Being seated at a booth allowed me to feel deliciously isolated and get some reading done.

We have enjoyed sushi and other dinner menu items. Honestly I would have given them four stars (With an actual rating just about 3 1/2.) but that was before going HIBACHI-Style at KOI! First, I don't need the show and have never been wowed by the food until my Koi experience. Our chef, Jacky, was great and funny! He realized that my 5 year old grandson was not into the experience and he focused on on the adults. He made sure we enjoyed all the traditional fun. A side note, it was really nice sharing the hibachi table with strangers! As the saki squirted out we cheered for each other and there in an evening around the stove we verified that humans can really enjoy each other's company as strangers. I will admit I was disappointed in getting clear soup, which everyone else loved. I missed whether or not I could have chosen Miso and I really love their Miso at KOI. The food was more than plentiful but more importantly it was delicious. Three of the group had scallops and they were so perfect... imagine the best scallops you have ever enjoyed because these were a match for the best! The diner getting steak gave a thumbs up and everyone was happy as take-home boxes were handed out. I had room for green tea ice cream ... We all kept thanking my son-in-law on the way home ... hibachi was his idea but next time it will be mine.

I grabbed everyone's order and roughly $76.00 later (minus tip) we placed our order. I cannot even begin to say how long the delivery took, but at the 1.5hr mark and my co-workers asking for status--- I knew this was not a good sign of things to come... I understand, that a large order takes time to prep, but after 3 calls and now at the 2hr mark into this, we all figured, it just was not gonna happen. But then, food arrived, and everyone grabbed their order, first bites were taken, and then the looks of disbelief and absolutely nothing, not even the rice was edible, how is that even possible???? for instance, how bad the sushi rolls were- not even fancy rolls, just 2 regular California rolls and 2 spicy California rolls, coconut rice, crispy tofu order, crispy chicken, Moo Shu chicken, beef chow fun.. anyway--- this was not a small order. Spicy California rolls, were topped with kewpie mayo and chili paste, I mean, I smelled the "hot" as soon as my co-worker took off the lid to the Spicy California rolls---took one bite and none of us could tolerate it, and I like "love" hot & spicy food, but this was, simply inedible. Unfortunately, our whole order of food was scrapped and tossed in the trash. I can't even say I would give them a second chance, because at the cost of the food, quality/taste and delivery time, I can't justify another inedible order and my co-workers would be pretty upset with me.

I have no idea where the under cooked broccoli came from, but that is the least of my troubles. The cold sesame noodles were hot and have as much sauce as you can see, maybe a spoonful on the top. The peanut beef looks like it's been sitting on heat for a really long time, it's completely separated. The wonton soup just smells stale, the broth is way too dark. Looks like it's been sitting on heat too. I called after an hour passed, the phone rang for over a minute, and the guy that picked up the phone said "I be there few minutes, ok? I be there few minutes" then hung up faster than I could say "ok?". If you order from this place after reading my review, I'm sorry you didn't believe me and I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews first.

When I placed the order it was sub total $26 plus a $4 delivery fee so I added $2 tip.. therefore my total was $32 and some change. The lady called for my card info and said the total was $35 and some change so I said there was a mistake and advised my receipt details totaling to $32... she told me and I quote "the $2 tip you provided is not enough to pay the gas for your delivery" I told her I was not tipping for gas, I paid the delivery charge for the gas. She proceeded to tell me that the delivery fee goes to the restaurant and the hung up the phone. So I called back and I asked her if she was okay and she said exactly what she said before and hung up again. So I called for the third time for clarification again and she admitted to adding an extra $3 to my order to tip the driver. I tried so hard to record it from my phone but I couldn't. But basically these people are just charging and doing whatever they want in there. I would not trust it. The food is pretty mediocre, the chicken always tastes old and I question if the chicken and broccoli is even chicken. I see the owner is responding and honestly I would love to pursue legal action because I'm pretty sure it's illegal to add more money to an order before charging someone's card. A tip is a courtesy not a privilege. But on a positive note I will say I enjoy the little ma and pop Chinese spot on Route 130 called Number One Chinese. It's really good, clean, and the husband and wife that run it are much more pleasant as they were able to take and delivery my order, even provided a free can of soda.
