    I circled my drink :-)

Last day of August 2025 we dropped in real quick before a dinner reservation at Prubechu. Immediately felt at home. Welcomed by the bartender, given plenty of time to choose our drink, the drinks came quickly and the vibe was just right. I had the Passion Playmate - Vanilla Infused Cachaca, Passion Fruit Cordial, Velvet Falernum, Lime, Sparkling Rose. Did I have to ask what a couple of those ingredients are? Yep. Do I remember what they are now? Nope. But I loved it. Small place, but super comfortable and I look forward to coming back.

What a lovely ambiance, it was very relaxing, the bartender was attentive. The decor was fun and we sat next to a lot up globe that was really cool. It was a good spot for socializing and we're were lounging on the couch enjoying ourselves. Not too crowded. Thank you!

Cozy cocktail bar with lounge and bar seating. I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night around 9pm. Had no problem walking in- most of the seats were taken but we got lucky and couch seating quickly opened up. I had the dead to me cocktail which I definitely recommend if you like your drinks alcohol forward and generally tolerate mezcal. They add basil oil drops on top which I think is so fun and adds to the drink. Definitely worth checking out for a date night or night out with friends.

Now this is one stylish bar. Not surprised this is owned by Hillary and Gavin Newsom's PlumpJack Group. Wildhawk has that kind of monied vibe. The interior decor felt like a contemporary boudoir heavy on the use of black and white floral prints with dark green backgrounds. It's pretty spacious with plenty of seating mostly for cliques of young barhoppers. I sat at the bar since I'm not a young hipster. The craft cocktail was extensive and intriguing with specialties focused on martinis and vermouth. The bartender was super friendly and queried me about my recent and upcoming travels. I tried a couple of the house cocktails in relatively quick succession. The first was the $17 Sueltate, a tangy Latin-based libation. It had mezcal, tequila, basil eau de vie, genever, lychee, chiles, and lime (photo: https://yelp.to/a2cciaCorB). Quite a sweetly piquant treat. The second was the $17 Diving Swallows, quite a tropical carnival of a cocktail with a couple of scotches, San Janz rum, galliano, pandan, and coconut milk topped with buttered popcorn (photo: https://yelp.to/gHq6BVlXQz). I'm a sucker for coconut...literally, so I was hooked on this one fast. COCKTAILS - 5 stars...audaciously creative cocktails that work very well AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...stylish but not invasive SERVICE - 5 stars...the male bartender was great...didn't catch his name TOTAL - 5 stars...$17 cocktails but worth it in this setting RELATED - Exploring the Mission? Loved hanging out at Wildhawk for a relaxed evening with friends. The bohemian meets vintage style gives the space an effortlessly cool vibe, and the friendly, attentive service made the night even better. I can't wait to come back for another round.

If you're looking for a nice classy joint with strong and well-mixed creative cocktails, Wildhawk does the trick. I was trying to find a high quality establishment to relax before enjoying a dinner at Lazy Bear and am happy to have stumbled upon this spot. Wildhawk was just 1 block away from the restaurant and it ended up being the perfect fit to get a pre-dinner drink. I had myself 2 yummy concoctions: - Old Fashioned - Diving Swallows (the popcorn drink) - Highland Park '12 + Sia Scotches, San Zanj Rum, Galliano Pandan, Coconut Milk, Buttered Popcorn Expect to pay about $20 per drink (including tip).

Suspicious price gouging for drinks at Wildhawk

As much as I love to explore different bars in the city and support local businesses it is always incredibly disappointing when you find yourself at an establishment that intentionally just rips you off. I was actually pretty excited to check out Wildhawk as I had this bar on my list of places to check out for a while. My friend ordered a couple "basic" drinks (rum and coke + gin and tonic) prior to me ordering two cocktails. He had mentioned in passing that it was weird that they had charged a different amount for the first round of drinks versus the second round (note: for the exact same drinks taken by the same male bartender). I do not know if this was a case of assuming people who get drinks do not take a look at the alcohol price or what but this is super strange. I experienced it for myself when I took care of the third drink. I took the tab for the third drink and was surprised when I found out that it was $48 not including tip for drinks that should have been around $30. (Note: nothing additional was noted on the receipt). Definitely felt ripped off. For that third round, I had ordered an Espresso Martini ($17) and a spritz ($11) but somehow the total came out to over $50 total for two drinks. I am disappointed with the shady practices conducted by the staff at Wildhawk and I think it's important to warn people about these price differences, not explicitly mentioned on their menu. Not sure if this is even legal, according to my friend. I personally would not want to go to Wildhawk again if their custom is to mislead their customers.

Loved the vibe of this bar - very cute wallpaper and asian inspired decor. Came with friends on a weeknight and it was super chill. Bartenders were friendly and there was a nice couch/table space for us to hang out as a small group. In terms of the drinks, we ordered the Cranes in the Sky and the Madame Butterfly. Both were a lot stronger than I expected, and I personally was not a fan of either of them. Some of my friends liked the Cranes in the Sky, but we all agreed that the Madame Butterfly was SUPER strong and I personally could not drink more than a tiny sip. All the drinks were very aesthetic though and the tiny paper cranes were cute! Would come back for the aesthetics just to hang out, but personally not a fan of the drinks. One other thing to note - the bathroom door does not lock!

Like how cozy this place is and it's bartenders are knowledgeable about about the cocktails and happy to make recommendations. Their menu has classic and contemporary cocktails and selection of seasonal drinks. I like to try something different each time and mostly I like what I get. I'd recommend this place for a night out with friends or even a date. Its lovely interior in art deco style will suit both.

Clover Clove in the middle. A drink with Rosé the other 2, can't remember the name.

A gem! From the outside seems like a dark regular place. Inside is a different story. I liked the wallpaper and the atmosphere. It was hard to find a place to seat but luckily we could sat at the bar. They have a huge selection of drinks and Martinis. I had the Clover Club. Gin, dry vermouth, raspberries, lemon and egg white, dusted with raspberries. Delicious!!! The barman was friendly and my drink was ready pretty fast. Water was served in a cute green glass bottle. I enjoyed this place very much, a great option for drinks!

My friends and I bar hopped throughout the mission and Wildhawk happened to be the last bar we frequented at. The drinks were quite strong. Came on a Saturday night and the line at the bar wasn't bad. There's outdoor seating and standing as the inside filled up. The wall decor was bright and gave inviting vibes. Would frequent again and try out a couple of their other drinks.

Stopped by for some drinks on a cold evening. Unique cocktails in a cool, moody place. Classic cocktail lounge ambiance with the exception of the wallpaper, which is especially eye-catching. All the cocktails seemed different, and the two I tried also tasted different too! Not particularly memorable but good cocktails. Service is a little lacking but quick. Bar can get very chilly!

Luckily, my friend had already been to Iron Horse Cocktails, and suggested we go there instead. Walking down the alleyway it is located in was a nice getaway from the otherwise hectic union square atmosphere. Walking in was also a neat experience that felt like we were stepping out of the city into a tiny pub. We also really liked the atmosphere inside and the cozy upper floor that had an interesting mix of old paintings and woodwork, creating an eclectic feel. I got the We've Got the Beet cocktail with mezcal, beet reduction, ginger, fresh citrus, thyme and firewater bitters. I love mezcal's smoky flavors and was drawn to the combination of ginger, citrus and mezcal flavors in the drink. The cocktail was very good and had a nice smokiness from the mezcal, along with the kick from the ginger and zest from the citrus, creating a refreshing and tasty drink. My friend got the About Thyme, with gin, blackberry liquor, black pepper thyme syrup and fresh citrus. We both really liked his drink as well, which had an interesting kick from the black pepper thyme syrup that offset the gin and blackberry liquor nicely. While we only had time to grab a drink each, we were both very happy with the drinks and would definitely come back the next time we're in the area.
