Found this to be pretty cool spot in Mission area. The night ambience was really nice and there was decent hustle and bustle around late evening on a weekday. The drinks and service were pretty good. Dropped in here for a small bit yesterday! There definitely was a good ambiance, and every seat was almost taken. At me and my friends' count, there were five couples and two groups of three. So, definitely quite popping and probably a good place for a date. The bartender welcomed us in and gave us a bunch of time to choose what we wanted to get. But I was mostly looking around as I hadn't been there in a while, so I just got a quick water. The decor in the place was absolutely lovely, as you can see in the photos, with a lot of different fun holiday-like Christmas decorations. I wouldn't say that the drinks on the menu to me seemed super novel or differentiated, but rather focused on more solid, slight changes on classics and sometimes stronger -- but I have come before in other months where they'll have fun drinks like pandan inspired ones or like coconut and rum-y drinks but I also do notice that it kind of is also depending on who's behind the bar and if they want to do things that are off-menu or interested to try something out because they're experimenting themselves. Overall, a great place to sit and hang out for a small bit, chat with friends. The music is not too loud so you can still hear each other, while the lighting is a good way to set ambiance and the chairs are definitely the most comfy out of many bars I've been to. Last day of August 2025 we dropped in real quick before a dinner reservation at Prubechu. Immediately felt at home. Welcomed by the bartender, given plenty of time to choose our drink, the drinks came quickly and the vibe was just right. I had the Passion Playmate - Vanilla Infused Cachaca, Passion Fruit Cordial, Velvet Falernum, Lime, Sparkling Rose. Did I have to ask what a couple of those ingredients are? Yep. Cozy cocktail bar with lounge and bar seating. I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night around 9pm. Had no problem walking in- most of the seats were taken but we got lucky and couch seating quickly opened up. I had the dead to me cocktail which I definitely recommend if you like your drinks alcohol forward and generally tolerate mezcal. Now this is one stylish bar. Not surprised this is owned by Hillary and Gavin Newsom's PlumpJack Group. Wildhawk has that kind of monied vibe. The interior decor felt like a contemporary boudoir heavy on the use of black and white floral prints with dark green backgrounds. It's pretty spacious with plenty of seating mostly for cliques of young barhoppers. I sat at the bar since I'm not a young hipster. The craft cocktail was extensive and intriguing with specialties focused on martinis and vermouth. The bartender was super friendly and queried me about my recent and upcoming travels. I tried a couple of the house cocktails in relatively quick succession. The first was the $17 Sueltate, a tangy Latin-based libation. As much as I love to explore different bars in the city and support local businesses it is always incredibly disappointing when you find yourself at an establishment that intentionally just rips you off. I was actually pretty excited to check out Wildhawk as I had this bar on my list of places to check out for a while. My friend ordered a couple "basic" drinks (rum and coke + gin and tonic) prior to me ordering two cocktails. He had mentioned in passing that it was weird that they had charged a different amount for the first round of drinks versus the second round (note: for the exact same drinks taken by the same male bartender). I do not know if this was a case of assuming people who get drinks do not take a look at the alcohol price or what but this is super strange. I experienced it for myself when I took care of the third drink. I took the tab for the third drink and was surprised when I found out that it was $48 not including tip for drinks that should have been around $30. (Note: nothing additional was noted on the receipt). Definitely felt ripped off. For that third round, I had ordered an Espresso Martini ($17) and a spritz ($11) but somehow the total came out to over $50 total for two drinks. I am disappointed with the shady practices conducted by the staff at Wildhawk and I think it's important to warn people about these price differences, not explicitly mentioned on their menu. Not sure if this is even legal, according to my friend. I personally would not want to go to Wildhawk again if their custom is to mislead their customers. read more

Loved the vibe of this bar - very cute wallpaper and asian inspired decor. Came with friends on a weeknight and it was super chill. Bartenders were friendly and there was a nice couch/table space for us to hang out as a small group. In terms of the drinks, we ordered the Cranes in the Sky and the Madame Butterfly. Both were a lot stronger than I expected, and I personally was not a fan of either of them. Some of my friends liked the Cranes in the Sky, but we all agreed that the Madame Butterfly was SUPER strong and I personally could not drink more than a tiny sip. All the drinks were very aesthetic though and the tiny paper cranes were cute! Would come back for the aesthetics just to hang out, but personally not a fan of the drinks. A gem! From the outside seems like a dark regular place. Inside is a different story. I liked the wallpaper and the atmosphere. It was hard to find a place to seat but luckily we could sat at the bar. They have a huge selection of drinks and Martinis. I had the Clover Club. Stopped by for some drinks on a cold evening. Unique cocktails in a cool, moody place. Classic cocktail lounge ambiance with the exception of the wallpaper, which is especially eye-catching. I did appreciate that they gave each party a carafe of water. Price (4/5) Cocktails are $17, pricey but seems on par for SF. Wait Time (5/5) We came around 9-10pm on a Saturday and were allowed in. We stood at the bar and ordered our drinks before a seating area opened up (~5-10mins). Ambience (3/5) The interior is nice and the atmosphere is welcoming. It can get kind of loud inside. There are about four to five couch areas that seat larger parties (~4-6) and there are about fifteen seats at the bar. See my photo - apparently dress code for the bar is jeans haha. The bathroom situation is interesting - there are two gender neutral toilets with two sinks in between. I say toilets because they are simply stalls with toilets (no sinks) inside. The lock is a turn lock counterclockwise. I had the misfortune of walking in on a drunk patron who had forgotten the lock. Service (5/5) Staff is efficient and nice. The bouncer kindly let us stand in the entryway while we waited for our rideshare as it was cold out. Parking/Access (5/5) This bar is just off of Valencia. I think parking is pretty easy to find. We took rideshare and there were many spaces available for our rideshare to stop at. Not a bad experience, but it wasn't the kind of place my group preferred. Briefly considered waiting in line like 2 idiots at a few Mission bars offering outdoor seating in rare, but gorgeous SF sunny weather. "Nope, not gonna do it..." means we didn't make reservations. Found this great middle-of-the-block corner location with this Yelp App. Funky interior, cool efficient mixers, cushy stools, large restrooms. Dog and people friendly. Ponied up the corner of the virtually empty bar like two hip and swinging AARP male models and ordered cocktails to sip. Basil Gimlets are tasty, if a tad too sweet, Old Fashions are balanced and robust. It would be good if they offered something to nibble on while drinking. A Friday crowd will eventually overtake you, so start early and bring a sweater, so the 65F SF summer breeze doesn't kick your ass when you stumble out. I read more

I found this place when I watched Drink Masters and one of the contestants, Suzu, co-owns the bar. The place is really cute and a bit dark but I think that was the atmosphere they were going for. Seating can get a little tight on some nights but there are usually good spaces to stand. Service is really friendly depending on bartender but generally positive. They really try to create some kind of experience for you while you visit. Certainly a more sophisticated take on cocktails. The menu usually has some form of Japanese inspiration and the drinks are indeed very spirit forward and can be considered dry. But i personally enjoy those kinds of drinks. There are also standard drinks if you don't want to try the custom menu. Overall I would say it is worth a visit to check out their drinks and soak in the experience. What a great experience! After watching Drink Masters on Netflix, my husband and I were excited to learn that one of the contestants (Suzu) worked at a bar in SF. We decided to check it out. I tried the "Cranes in the Sky" cocktail, which had some ingredients I wasn't familiar with (hoku rice, aloe), and some ones I knew better (vodka, pisco). Upon tasting my cocktail, I described it as "delicious and complex." It truly was one of the most interesting cocktails I've ever tasted - and it was beautiful. I could see why Suzu was popular on the show. Best part? We got to meet the man himself and he was super nice! We would definitely come back and try some other creations. read more

Not going to lie - we came up all the way from the South Bay because of Netflix's Drink Masters. In other words, we came to Wildhawk because of Suzu, who was one of the amazing bartenders on the show. In case you're wondering... yes, he's just as sweet and funny on the show as he is in real life! My boyfriend and I arrived around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. Mind you, we honestly didn't think Suzu was going to be working during that time, so it was such a pleasant surprise when we saw him there. Wildhawk was such a classy and cozy neighborhood bar in the Mission. I immediately vibed with the atmosphere and dark décor, and the handful of patrons there made the place feel lit and lively. We ordered a few of the house cocktails including Together in San Junipero (loved the Black Mirror reference), Frenching the Bully, and Echa Pa'lante. If I had to choose my favorite, it would have to be Together in San Junipero but they were all great in their own right. read more

I've been frequenting Wildhawk for years now and this is absolutely one of the best cocktail bars here in the city. The picture uploaded is from me celebrating my bday during the holidays. I requested a table in advance and I suggest you do the same for a large party. The vespertine is by far is my fav drink, whoever came up with that name has to be a Björk fan! If you're new to the bar scene in SF, bars usually give a 45 minute last drink call out and they need everyone out of the building before 2am especially since Wildhawk is located in a residential area. The older bartender was extremely rude and seemed like he was bothered that we stopped in. My friend asked what they would recommend and his answer was "idk what you like" and after still proceeded to not answer or recommend anything. This bar is beautiful. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by a gorgeous bar, comfortable seating and stylish decor. It was like being inside of an art magazine the second we walked in. We showed our bartender our IDs, and had a tough time narrowing down what we wanted from the menu. There were a lot of great options. Reading their menu was very inspiring! Not only did they detail the cocktails they serve, they had a couple pages about their bar and their favorite spirits. They even sell bites and merchandise! Also their menu's presentation was a little binder you could flip through and just read. I ended up ordering the Sueltate with the mezcal. The lychee and the mezcal are a great match, I could taste them immediately. I felt the heat in the aftertaste. This started sweet, turned smoky and ended in a lime heat. This was hard not to finish immediately. I shared a Cranes in the Sky with my fiancé. The color of this cocktail is beautiful. This was sweet without overshadowing the flavors of the watermelon or the aloe. For the second round I decided to ask the bartender, Courtney to make something with mezcal. I don't know what I would name the drink she gave me (our ideas were the Mezcal praline or the smoky praline). She nailed it. It was a blissful combination of mezcal, amaro, and orange. I was not aware of this trio, but I'm obsessed. I'm going to be attempting to recreate this masterpiece in my home bar. I absolutely loved it and it was easily my favorite cocktail of a San Francisco weekend. I was inspired by the flavor combinations of the drinks. This place is a super chill bar in the Mission! It is tastefully decorated and their bartenders actually look like they enjoy being there. They won't hesitate to give you some recommendations and constantly checked in on us. Seating is pretty abundant as there are many different chairs, couches, and tables to choose from. This place is also open until 2am, which is one of the few late night options in the area. Something to note here is that their drinks are STRONG. I personally like this, but if you're looking for sweeter, fruitier drinks, then you probably will not like this place. I got their Cranes in the Sky Cocktail and it was a great drink! It came with a cute tiny folded paper crane on top which I thought was a neat touch, and the drink itself was solid. The vodka flavor was present, but did not overpower the drink, and worked well with the watermelon and aloe flavors. Cocktails are $17 a drink. Overall, if you're looking for a place to add to your barhopping list, I would definitely come here for the chill vibes and nice staff. Such a dope little local cocktail bar that's situated in the cuts and crevices of the Mission district! Came here with the ladies to continue our friend's birthday festivities and Wildhawk did not disappoint. It's a cozy lil' spot that's decked out in some really darling decor. Fun fact: this used to be the original location of the Lexington Club which was a popular local gay bar back in the late 90's and early 2000's. There's a commemorative placard honoring the old bar right near the entrance. I was reading some of the prior reviews of this place, and most of them honed in on the bad service that they received from the bartenders. Welp, I'm happy to report that we didn't experience any of that. In fact, service at the bar was delightful! I should have gotten her name, but the bartender that tended to our party was super fun and a little spunky. She gave us some great suggestions of what drinks we should try based on our preferences. Since I'm a fruit cocktail kinda gal, she recommended that I give their "For the Birds" cocktail a try. I kinda sorta have this tropical tiki cocktail obsession, and this cocktail was the perfect fit for what I was looking for. One of my friends followed suit and also ordered this cocktail while my other friends ordered the "No no no" and a Pimm's Cup. Tried the Pimm's Cup and that sucka was STRONG! The drinks were good but I would have preferred a little less ice in them (especially the one that I got). I loved how we could still talk to each other and hear what the other person was saying. It was definitely lively but still intimate enough to enjoy a casual convo. We had space to move around inside too even though it's a smaller bar. The atmosphere was totally relaxed and fun.
