What a cute place both to get some kitty therapy and cuddles in, but also a good place to come to if you're looking for a kitten to adopt. You have to sign a waiver for each person going in using the QR code that is posted in the front. Upon going in, you will be asked to put shoe covers on or for the little ones, take their shoes off and the person will charge you your admission and go over the house rules with you. Admission is $15 for 30 minutes for those over the age of 12 and $10 for 30 minutes for those under 12. There are a couple of dozen kittens of various ages inside frolicking around with most being super playful and friendly. There are toys available inside for you to engage with the cats. The place is relatively clean and surprisingly, no strong smell of cats or litter present. There aren't any official places to store you items when you go in, you just put it on the floor to the side but you should expect that there will most certainly be some curious kittens that get into your stuff and nuzzle up with your clothes, so be ok with some cat hair getting on your items. read more

We came around 3p and most of the kittens were sleeping. A few woke up to play and my girls enjoyed just being close to kittens. My daughter has been begging to visit the kitty cats here for months now. There is usually a long wait during the weekends so we tried coming on a random week day morning. After paying the fee, signing some forms and putting on shoe covers, we were able to come right in. Because it's run by a a non-profit rescue organization, there are certain rules such as being quiet and gentle with the kittens/cats. There is peaceful music playing in the background; truly an environment where you can just relax with the kittens. In fact, I saw some people taking naps on the couch; others were reading quietly or playing respectfully with the kittens. When I stepped into Mini Cat Town, I thought I was at Disneyland. The last time I played with a cat was about 10 years ago when I went out for my weekly jog at the park. For some reason, all 5 cats near the park disappeared. I've always longed for a cat, but never got around to adopting one. I expressed my interest in getting a kitty to my friend. She was the one who told me about Mini Cat Town. She also adopted a kitty a few years ago from this place. My bf and I paid $15 each to interact with the kitties for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the girl politely told us our time was up. I found a 1-year-old kitty that I want to adopt. His name is Neo. The problem is that I also have to adopt his little sister Peppa since they are bonded. Sigh. After my brief visit to Mini Cat Town, I found a little taste of happiness here. I will definitely adopt a cat in the near future, as soon as I buy all the needed supplies and save up some money for vaccinations, procedures etc. If you are thinking about adopting or want a place to destress from everyday life, this is the place to visit. If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been here several times and every time I have an issue with one specific girl and her name is Charlotte (as per her she's the lead). I haven't had any other issues with anyone but every single time I come, if she's there, I already know she's going to start complaining. Background; I have a 4.5 and 1.5 year old and she seems to not like kids. So if you're coming here even though they allow young children to come I would say save your money and don't visit this place. She falsely said that my daughter hit the cat which was not true, she did pat the cat and the cat didn't cry or bite or scratch her they just moved away. Advice to the cofounders - you may want to reconsider who you staff and ensure they are actually nice and have good customer service skills. My time was cut short and when I asked for a refund she said they I broke their rules because of my daughter pating the cat. Seems like this establishment is just trying to make a quick buck! Beautiful and well run cat lounge. The place is clean and the cats are well groomed. The fee to visit is minimal and all the cost goes to care and feeding of the cats. The idea behind this place is so that cats can be cage free and allow potential adopters to get to know the cats in a stress free environment. I did notice a few people trying to visit with their rowdy kids and getting irritated that their kids could not pick up the cats or get too aggressive with the cats. I wanted to tell the parents that the cats are not there to be abused by their ill behaved children! This place has rules to protect the cats and I was so glad to see that the volunteers were professional with clients but also made sure the cats were safe. I read online views where people were upset with paying a fee to visit with cats. If you don't understand the purpose of a cat lounge then you are not the type of person who should visit. I love the idea of this place-pay $15 to play with the kitties for 30 minutes, and you can adopt the cats too if you like. For the most part, they are pretty good about picking up after the kitties, and the kitties seem to be well taken care of and friendly. They have a cap on how many people can be there at a time, so don't be surprised if you have to wait and come back. I have seen people go there at 6:30 PM (they close at 7) and they get turned away because they have too many people there. It may not look busy, but they may be at capacity, so just be aware of that. read more

This location is very dirty 1/5/24. There's kitty litter all over the floor. I count 5 employees and there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge and none of them cleaning after the cats. It was very busy and they put me on a waitlist. Then let everyone else after me in. I came back at my time and after paying I just stood around for a while before they figured out if I could come in or not. Very simple process was too chaotic for them to figure out. We had plans to visit and spend time with a specific cat so we could decide if she would be a good fit for our home (Nori). A staff member came over and said "I need to put this cat on someone's lap, unless you are petting it?" Yeah. We were. We were sitting on the ground beside this cat. She didn't wait for an answer and scooped the cat up, walked away and put it in some kids lap. We looked at other cats (one had an infected eye, several had head guards on assuming they just got fixed). First off, that volunteer needs to read the room a bit better. When a couple is sitting on the ground around a cat.... They are probably interested in it. You could have put a potato in that kids lap and he would have been just as happy. Second, animals that have infections or issues that require lick guards should not be out for kids to bother them. Give them some solitude to heal before you subject them to the public. This poor cat squeezed himself into a box to get away from people touching his sore face. Just disgusting. read more

I'm writing this review as an adopter. I wasn't going to leave a review but after submitting feedback via email and receiving no acknowledgement I feel disappointed. My daughter and I stumbled across this place Saturday, and being the animal lovers we are we paid to go in and spend time with the kitties. My daughter connected with and fell in love with a kitty named Pepper and when she learned you can adopt the kitties she immediately said she wanted Pepper. The next day she wrote a letter to her Dad telling him about Pepper and why she wanted to adopt her and what she would do to help care for her. My daughter just turned 8 years old last month. While she worked on getting approval from her Dad I submitted the adoption application online to make sure we were approved to adopt should he say yes. Sunday evening we got the go ahead and approval and I booked the first available appointment it showed online for us to go in the very next day (Monday labor day) at 3:15pm for the adoption meeting so her Dad could meet Pepper and we could complete the process. I had already read that it was first come first serve for the kitties and it was possible someone could adopt the kitty you want before you, however, I assumed so long as I didn't hear anything from them and my appointment stood that meant the kitty we wanted was still available. We drove from Mountain House to Pleasanton and walked in with our carrier in hand for our scheduled appointment. The girls at the front asked if we were there for Pepper, I said yes we have an appointment. She said "oh did you just want to come in and take her?". I was confused and said we were here for our adoption meeting appointment. She started checking their tablet and then said "oh your here for the meeting, but you weren't here earlier today were you?". I said no we werent. She said "ok sorry I had you confused with another family that was here earlier to see Pepper". At that point she said "ok you can come on in to see the kitties, Pepper is here but she was adopted by the family earlier and they are coming to pick her up". It was totally nonchalant. I turned to my daughter to see the sadness on her face "but I still want Pepper". Right there on the spot I had to let my daughter down in a small crowded entry spot with onlookers. We decided to go in to see the kitties since we were already there. I let the girl know that it was very disappointing that we didn't receive any call ahead of time to let us know the kitty we were scheduled for was adopted before we could even get there. Many times there are going to be children involved in these adoptions and if you aren't going to let a family put a deposit to secure a kitty before their scheduled appointment then you at the very least need to call and give them a status update before they arrive so they can prepare their child and decide as a family how to proceed. Even for me this was upsetting as I, too, had fallen for Pepper as she reminded me of my late kitty Peanutty who had been with me for almost 18 years. I understand why they are doing first come first serve because they want to move as many kitties out to homes as they can. But their adoption fees are far higher than any other rescue I know, so anyone who agrees to their adoption fees and sets an appointment is clearly serious about adopting. There needs to be a better process, either inform families booking for a specific kitty if another family is ahead of them in the process or allow families to submit a deposit prior to their appointment. I don't know any other rescue that wouldnt inform a family if they already had a prospective adopter ahead of them. We ended up adopting a little black kitten named Theodore, now named Arlo. We love and adore him and are happy to have him as part of our family. We paid $200 for his adoption fee which came with microchip, and all vaccine/neuter history. We love him and will love him for all his years, but this doesn't change how we feel about what happened to us that day. As a parent it was heart breaking to see that look on my daughters face and it would have been even harder if we didn't connect with another kitty that day. Add to all that our Arlo brought home a kitty cold from this place. He has green discharge from his left eye and is sneezing. Thankfully I still had erythromycin eye ointment from my elderly kitty so I can treat his eye. I did hear a staff member, when we were there Saturday, mention she noticed one of the cats was sneezing and I had noticed another who looked like they might have some eye discharge. Unfortunately it seems a lot of the staff there are young teenagers who are volunteers and seem confused on a lot of what is going on there. I hope that they can actually take my feedback into consideration. The concept of this place is great and I am all for any rescue working to help get animals into forever loving homes. read more

I really appreciate the mission of this place to encourage rescue-cat adoption, but it was way too chaotic when we visited (a Saturday afternoon--yes, probably a mistake). As pre-approved adopters, we were excited to meet several cats, but any cats that weren't hiding were being grabbed or chased by young kids. It was pretty stressful. The staff was definitely doing their best to make sure cats were properly handled, and maybe we just got unlucky visiting when there was an exceptionally unruly group of kids there, but it was impossible to gauge any of the cats' real temperaments and choose one to adopt in this situation. I think it would make for a better experience for the cats, visitors, and staff if they limited the number of people in allowed at a time even more and provided a separate spot where potential adoptees could spend some quiet time with the cats they're interested in. read more

Just visited this place. Kids had a great time my wife asthma started after a few minutes. She was there with my 3 kids and had to stay with my 10 year old daughter. We asked the manager if okay to switch so I can be there with my kids and my wife can leave but the manager name Alma refused that. I am extremely disappointed. The other volunteers were really helpful but our visit turned sour because of the manager. read more
