Absolute gem of a restaurant. The food here is incredible. The portions are great for the price and I have yet to be disappointed by a single thing on the menu! My go to is the chicken and pork combo. So tender and fresh every time. Their hummus is to DIE for and they give you a huge stack of bread to dip in it. The food alone is to die for but the service is what sets this place apart. My second time picking up, they already knew me by name. It is currently cash only and when I forgot cash, the employee was SO sweet and even offered to let me pay half (the amount of cash I had before) and "get him back next time". I ended up venmoing another person in line to pay but even the offer itself was so sweet!! Feels like family every time I go and they have some of the best food on this side of town. This restaurant has been featured countlessly, and I can confirm that it is worth all the attention Mini Kabob has received. Located next to a plaza on a residential street, Mini Kabob definitely is a hole-in-the-wall joint. Would definitely recommend calling in your order ahead of time if nearing dinner time to ensure they are not sold out. You can call in your order and specify a pick-up time also if needed! The customer service here is top-notch and you can really tell the owner connects with his customers/community. We ordered 2 combination plates with 3 meats each. We tried the chicken kabob, beef kabob, lamb kabob, beef luleh, and chicken luleh and let me tell you they were ALL DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection! My go-to is usually luleh, which did not disappoint. The kabobs were very tender/moist and not overcooked at all. The garlic sauce is addicting and the eggplant caviar was so good with a nice kick - would recommend if you like eggplant! Smash the roasted tomato all up in the rice and you have a perfect meal. I eat a lot of Mediterranean and work/hangout/eat with a lot of Armenians... this spot is legit delicious every time. I think it's cash only and they close by 6pm. I never ate there until the pandemic, so I only know it as a to go spot, which I think it is only "to go". I read a review online that this is a spot "Michelin star chefs like to come for their Mediterranean take out" so I had to try it out... Been back plenty of times and it's delicious. read more

This review is long overdue. This place has the best chicken breast ever!!! The chicken was so moist and fresh. I couldn't stop eating it. I ordered the combo plate which also came with steak. The steak was also good and chewy. The garlic sauce was very tasty! The best I've had. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be blown away by the juiciest chicken kabobs! The only downside was how small the inside was. It had only three small tables. I had to wait outside for about 30 minutes before getting seated. I suggest ordering it to go and eat it in your car. Been going here for years but like so many other places I go to somewhat regularly I do not write reviews. Today my dad picked up food for us that we ordered ahead of time. The key thing to that is know what you want and really order a lot earlier. We had the conversation about picking up food from there at 9am. I should have ordered then for an earlier pick up time, but by the time I did order my dad was picking up lunch at 1pm. It worked out. My dad was pleased with his Combo plate, and his favorite was the chicken which I traded for a Falafel. My Falafel plate was great but I should have gotten it with rice and salad. That's on me. I wasn't paying attention when I ordered. So glad we got the yogurt with cucumber and dill. It was an excellent addition to our lunches. My dad still has a stack of lavash for me to make sandwiches for him because he didn't get to his and I can't eat mine. As far as eating at the restaurant, my suggestion is if you are more than 2 people, bring your own table. It is intimate inside, which is a treat if you are two. read more

This place deserve nothing short of high 5 stars! What a magnificent haven of Armenian kitchen! I saw this place on Mark Wien's food channel video, and had to visit! Not only the food is amazing, but the owner is so kind and nice! I ordered the following: Combo plate, and the owner gave a free drink on the side which was delicious as well. The combo plate came with beef and chicken kebobs, hummus, rice, charred jalapeno and tomato, and onions, and thin pita bread! The chicken was creamy and soft, and perfectly seasoned. The rice was fluffy and a not a hint of mushiness at all. The beef kabobs was moist and cooked to medium well as requested. The charred jalapeno and tomato were perfect to wrap in soft thin pita (this is not your regular pita) and add sumac and garlic butter which came with it. The hummus was very fresh and had a perfect taste- a well balance ratio of sesame, tahini, and chickpeas, with just the right amount of salt and oil. This is a must visit food in L.A. CASH only. Ok, went here because Elie @ Foodbeast did a post and instastory , a while back, I'd been intending to eat here but I'm never in the area... Esp. Because it's a family operation. I ordered the falafel plate and the Steak kabob plates. I had a taste of everything and omg the food here was delicious/bomb/amazing, and quality and omg that thick garlic sauce: addicting, and I could just drink it all. Lol! 11/10 would return and will refer my friends here. Steak was cooked PERFECTLY and I haven't had such good hummus in a LONG time. rice was cooked perfectly and tasty. Salad and veggies were fresh, and that balsamic dressing, I could drink that too haha. Yummy! Also omg please order the falafel. Whoa! I love this place SO MUCH! Not just because the kabobs are incredibly sumptuous, but also because this outfit epitomizes the beauty and grace of a small, family owned business. Armen and his wonderful parents are truly the cornerstone of the Glendale community. They're warm, friendly and simply wonderful. Plus the food is so amazing, if you don't order ahead, expect to wait for a bit. I usually get almost a week's worth of protein from here. Being a Hindu, I don't eat beef. Notwithstanding, Armen's got my back. He'll always pack some extra goodies for me and my order is always ready when I arrive. Always bring cash. Try out the egg plant caviar too! It is the best egg plant dish I've eaten that rivals baingan bharta, a staple of the North Indian (Punjabi) cuisine. Oh, yes the garlic sauce. There's a tiny plaza next door but it doesn't seem like a good idea to park there. Let me tell you... this was the best kebob chicken I've ever had. I ordered the "chicken thigh" and it was SO JUICY AND TENDER. It was also perfectly seasoned and charred. I couldn't get enough. Also tried the "chicken lule" which was absolutely delicious as well. My boyfriend was on cloud nine too. We both loved the meal so much. Each order comes with hummus (awesome texture, delicious), a generous serving of lavash bread, really good rice, as well as a grilled tomato and jalapeño pepper. It's a large portion. I see their prices have gone up (compared to some old menus posted on here) as it was $14.00 per platter. Honestly, that's still a great deal, especially considering the quantity and quality. The service was terrific as well. Armen was soooooo nice. It's a family business (parents and son). The only issue is that they don't take credit cards. Honestly, the food is so damn good that it's not that much of an impediment. There's a Chase bank a block away too. It seems the owners are kind of old school in that regard but hopefully they decide to update their system in order to better compete with similar businesses. Armen told me that you can pay with a credit card if you order online but I am not sure what that means as I later tried to find their website and couldn't find it. Perhaps he meant Grubhub? This is another Mediterranean restaurant. I got the chicken kabob plate, the eggplant caviar, and salad. The chicken was excellent as was the hummus and salad. The eggplant caviar wasn't as impressive but I can see using this with meat or eggs. Maybe that was the purpose. I don't usually care much about the service, for me it's normally all about the food. Tried for the first time after so many glowing reviews from friends. I kept asking myself how could minikebob be THAT much better than other places but I was so wrong. I've never tasted a combo plate that comes close to one's found here in terms of flavor, juiciness, and freshness. The soft and pillowy basmati rice is buttered perfectly and mixes so well with some of the most delicious hummus I've ever had. I can't wait to try the the beef and lamb kabobs next. The sides include some of the freshest lavash I've ever had and incredible garlic sauce that I could eat 10 of at once! Awesome awesome awesome! Saw them on a YouTube channel and went there to try it right away. It's a tiny place on a residential street and you wouldn't even know it's there unless you are looking for it. It's actually like a small house converted into a restaurant with the kitchen right in front with 3 small 2 or 3 seat tables. The owner is great. He said his business is booming thanks to the video review and we told him we want to try everything. So he put together a big meat feast on rice and presented it all with baba ganoush and pita bread. The lamb chops, pork chops, luleh, beef, and chicken were all delicious and I can't complain about anything he cooked up. The sumac shaker for the rice was awesome and you can top off your rice with as much sumac as you want. You can tell everything is fresh home made because... Well... It's a home and you can see his family back there in the kitchen all pitching in to make sure you have a great meal. read more

I've been wanting to try Mini-Kabob for a long time! I was so excited to finally splurge and give them a go. I live in Glendale and eat a lot of different Armenian food- from the more a Russian, to the more Persian, to the more Lebanese. Anyway, my experience was pretty strange. I ordered from Grubhub and my food came fast with generous portions. Everything looked and smelled fresh. Hot items were hot, cold items were cold. I can tell they use good ingredients. The tabuleh salad looked beautiful, as did the hummus and everything. The meat was very tender and juicy, the perfect texture for kabob. And the lavash was warm and soft and some of the best I've ever had. So what is my complaint you might ask? SALT. They used way too much salt in the tabuleh and the hummus, so much that it over powered the flavor of everything, even the meat. I'm still recovering as I write this. For the record I love salt. Kalamata olives, feta and Bulgarian cheese, capers, pickles, etc...as you can see I am not sensitive or adverse to salt. They just used way too much and I don't understand why anyone would ever need that much salt in anything ever. Maybe this was a one off. Perhaps I'll try them again in the future and discover that this was just a salty day for some reason. But I am still sad about the money I spent today and the experience I received in exchange for it. I'm updating this review from 2 to 4 stars because the owner reached out to me and provided really great customer service to resolve the issue. He validated my experience and made it right. It's not easy to find customer service like this anymore. I truly respect him and appreciate his business ethic. I feel very certain that this was a random experience that is not up to their usual standards. Hey, it happens, and you know what? He made it right by reaching out to me. I saw the Mark Wiens video on this place and I had to come check it out. Unfortunately, we didn't do our due diligence and this place is cash only. No biggie, we just walked to the closed Chase which was 2 blocks away and got some cash. Before you come, please be aware that there is only seating for about 6-8 people at this restaurant. Super small. You can literally see the kitchen when you walk in and smell the good stuff. My wife and I both got the combo platter. I think it came with Chicken Kabob and Pork Lule, rice and grilled veggies. Everything was delicious, flavorful and moist. (A small hearth and a 4-burner stove) Hidden to the side and doesn't stand out? Check. (It looked like a house in the middle of nowhere) Owner cooking and chatting with customers? Check. Yep. Definitely my kind of place. Because it really now is only about the food. I didn't have much time but I came with an appetite. I've been binging on middle eastern food the moment I got to LA (mainly the Persian and Armenian variants) so I was excited to squeeze another spot in before heading to my next meal appointment. Lula kebab was what he recommended for my time crunch and what came out was magical moist beautifully cooked meat over my favorite sides: fragrant basmati rice, onions with parsley, grilled jalapeños, and a side of hummus. My mind is blown! We were in the neighborhood for a dentist appointment and smelled the most amazing food and decided to stop. This is some of the best food I have ever had. The rice is amazing, the tomato, the jalepeno, the hummus, the bread, all of it is just fantastic. The salad was so fresh. Everything is so amazing here. It was fried to perfection crispy of the outside and moist and flavor packed on the inside. You gotta try it. Now the combo plate is out of this world the rice was fluffy and moist, the chicken was absolutely divine, flavor and cooked to perfection, not sure what it's marinated in, but dang, it's on point. Just had my first meal from Mini Kabob and I will be back! I was the jerk who popped in 10 minutes before they closed and was prepared and would have understood if they turned me away. I was taking a chance! However, I was warmly greeted by Armen who made dinner possible! They were fast and kind! The food was delicious!!! I got the chicken kabobs and secret (not so secret) potatoes. Both were amazing! I almost finished the potatoes on the car ride home, they were so addicting. The chicken was moist and very flavorful! And the hummus really stood out. It's easy for hummus to be bland, but Mini Kabob's was the exact opposite. It was extra tangy and disappeared in minutes. I love the food here. I live an hour away and I drive down for the food sometimes. The family who runs the place are super sweet and friendly. The place itself is very small with only one table so keep that in mind. Also if my memory serves me correctly it is cash only so be prepared. Not only the food is amazing (always order the steaks and lamb) the sides that comes with: hummus (by far the best I've had hands down) and their amazing garlic cream sauce - I always get refill for this...Sooo good!!! (Just not ideal for dates) And the service, you MUST converse with the owners to get the full experience of this amazing restaurant. Never a dull moment here. We ordered the chicken thigh, ground beef koobideh and beef shish kabobs - the marination and quality of meat was instantly noticeable - actually just the smell of the grill coming out of this small hole in the wall sparked off nostalgia for me. our kabobs were cooked perfectly, super juicy and with beautiful flavors - will for sure be back. The place is busy and we picked up and took it to nearby griffith park - the owner is a very nice guy who was helpful and welcoming - I'm only sad that I live so far away in Irvine, but will def be back and will bring the rest of my fam.
