I returned to Telegraph Self Storage after Public Storage ripped me off by raising monthly rental and extra $150/mo after only 4 months! That would NEVER happen at Telegraph Self Storage.

Zero stars if possible........Do NOT use the place !!!…read more 1. Mice !!! 2. Not maintained. Constant issues with elevators, lighting, and doors not working. 3. Not secure. Although they give you a passcode for the door, anyone can easily just pull the door open (when, and if, they are even working !) 4. Rarely has anyone working in the office. 5. A unit near mine leaked something out into the main hallway. They sent email to people with units in that area to check their units. Over two weeks later and the leak / puddle remains in the main hallway. 6. A week after a heavy snowfall, the entry and parking lot are still blocked and covered in snow. No effort has been made to clean it or make a passage for customers. 7. Kept charging me monthly for insurance although I stopped by at least 3 times and provided them proof I was already covered by homeowner's insurance ( and each time I was told the info they needed was on the paperwork). When they finally "corrected" the issue......they were "unable" to give me my money back or give me a bill credit. (NOTE: I had to go to an office at a different facility since the office at this place is never open.) 8. Homeless people are frequently in the building. I personally witnessed one living in a storage unit a few doors down from mine. I was also told that by an employee who said that and said they now keep all bathrooms locked because of the problem they have with homeless. UPDATE: I guess they keep one bathroom nearest the office unlocked......but it's always been filthy when I've seen it. 9. Climate controlled !??.........not controlled at all. I went in the winter and inside it would be freezing cold and during the summer it would be blazing hot. 10. The periodic rate increases are astronomical !!!! (Yes.....I know it's a common issue in the self-storage world.). The people running this place are like the slum lords of the self-storage world !!

It was nice when you knew the faces and names of people. Some carts don't work as they should - a wheel off, doesn't turn. To get you in, they start with low fees but you will need to pay for the year if you want to keep that fee. That's standard practice so that's a reminder cos once it goes up it's up. Any specials don't apply to existing customers oh well. I know that they auctioned a friend's storage units without contacting her at all, which is against the law - so keep in mind this could happen if you don't pay the fees. I'm still here though...it's my laziness.

I thoroughly cleaned and sprayed my unit before moving in. I opened my unit today and a dead roach fell from the ceiling! I let the woman at the front know and her response was, "none of our customers have complaints about roaches" but says the exterminator only comes once a month to check on the rat traps. He doesn't spray for roaches. The gate to the front is always open too. This place is dirty and ghetto. I'm moving my belongings out pronto and I suggest you avoid this place altogether.
