Kathy has a beautiful home, extremely, extremely clean…read more Everyone at Angels Home Care is kind and loving! We are grateful for the peace of mind Kathy has given us! My Mother in law has never been happier!

My mom started her 7 year journey at Angel Home Care after breaking her hip while living alone. The…read morepositives were the home was extremely clean, food healthy and appealing and she hired kind caretakers. Although she was entering the early stages of dementia she did required more care. She was very happy there and loved the backyard. There was a big difference in mom's care as her dementia progressed. I was looking for a new home for her towards the end of 2025. Kathy complained a lot about mom's behavior's as her dementia progressed. Kathy let me know she wasn't going to bath mom anymore as of March of 2026 because of mom's outbursts of being showered so early in the morning. Kathy's home is run on the caregiver's schedule NOT on the needs of the residents. Mom's time there came to a head when I came for an unexpected visit to have mom meet a possible new Board & Care provider. Kathy texted me saying, "she didn't have a good morning because of shower and she had scratches on her back, because mom scratches herself." When I got there mom also had what appeared to be finger bruises. I made all the appropriate calls to Adult Protective Services and made a police report. I immediately gave Kathy a 30 day notice and let her know I would bath my mom going forward. When coming to her home 3 days later to bath her I discovered these noticeable 200+ bites on her back and arms. When ask the caregiver Sandra she told me, " they (the residents) all have them, they sit outside and get bug bites." I told her it was most likely scabies or bed bugs and they should let Kathy know. One of the residents heard this and said, "I am scratching everywhere." I made an appointment for my mom to see her doctor 2 days later and she was diagnosed with scabies. Even when I told the facility immediately they made no effort to start addressing the scabies issue. I sent the CDC guidelines on how to treat a scabies outbreak at a senior facility. They did nothing. The next day I decided to call 911 feeling my mom was unsafe and she was transferred to the hospital to be treated. Kathy's home is beautiful on the outside but in my opinion she is all about the money and not attending to the clients and their personal needs. It is my opinion Kathy has not educated herself about dementia and communicable diseases at senior facilities. I DO NOT Recommend her facility for anyone who has dementia.

Mom wasn't mobile at the time, and Darlene and the Golden Care team went overboard to find enough helpers to allow her to be at home. Darlene was also an incredible resource for information about at-home care - from the supplies we needed to which items of "durable medical equipment" we should request from the hospital based on insurance coverage. She even went out of her way to be there when PT and OT providers came so that her caregivers could help mom do the exercises in between visits. She was also incredibly responsive and accommodating even when our plans shifted multiple times. I can't recommend Darlene and the GC team strongly enough.

I have never written a bad review before, but I have had such a poor experience with this company…read morethat I felt the need to share. Since my dad has dementia, we asked for a caretaker that is experienced in dementia-specific care. During the intake, I told the team that experience should be the top priority over anything. Instead, we had a "kind-of" experienced person come to train somebody who literally had their first day in the industry in our home. This guy didn't even know how to help my dad change his pull-ups when he was still mobile. Very simple stuff that frankly I've never been trained on myself, and have no business training him on. This theme continued throughout the time we were with them, and it ultimately became more work to have their caretakers in the home. We also paid a premium for dementia-care, but obviously the person who is brand new is not providing that value. We stayed with them until my dad was hospitalized. We need 30+ hours per week of care since then, and we actively avoided bringing them back because they were no help. They are also extremely disorganized as an organization. The care is the main reason we stopped working with them, and the admin & accounting teams have made sure we don't even explore other caretakers with them. Working with this company has been a headache, and I would suggest looking at other agencies for a significantly better experience.

With the help of wonderful care-givers provided by Home Instead she's able to accomplish that. My husband and I live in LA and have leaned on management and staff for help with changes in scheduling and other questions and concerns. They've been a calming presence and we're grateful that they're on deck during this difficult time.
