The staff could not possibly be more caring and giving of their time to make certain my father is taken care of in every way shape and form. They have made his life much richer for the experience. They were also able to adjust the level of care as his situation changed over time, adding a service to help him with his medications, and later his bathing and dressing when that became difficult for him. I would highly recommend The Meridian to anyone who has someone they love that needs a little help, whatever it is they need.

All these reviews talk about how great the residents are being taken good care of...but no one…read moretalks about the work facility and how they treat and talk to there employees 1. they hire a lot of people at once so basically there's no for sure hours scheduling. 2. they pay new employees the " minimum" in there eyes which about $17.00 and while old employees of long term employees still are getting paid $16.50 and i think that's ridiculous how they discriminate against there employees like that. 3. employees complain about certain situations at work and they don't do anything and State it's a " personal issue " but i Myself worked there and I would never go back because of the work environment.

I've witnessed countless abuse from many caregivers-- both verbal and physical. The upper management turns a blind eye. I remember being in one of the monthly meetings and the director describing our patients as mere money-makers for the company. And each staff member was essentially replaceable. So many caretakers would manhandle our fragile and elderly patients. During showers, if we had a patient in their later stages of dementia, I've seen a caregiver spray them in the face and yell at them to sit down. I've seen them yank them up from their wheelchairs and transport them with absolutely no regard for their safety. I've seen them throw them down onto the beds and change them in a very inhumane way. I've seen a patient choke to death. Our lead med-aid sat there and allowed her to die even when one of our caregivers offered to fish the obstruction out of her mouth. He was instructed to do NOTHING and leave. He sat there and watched her choke to death and die. Our monthly meetings would contain no content and would teach us absolutely nothing. They'd rush their meetings and hand us a paper to sign that we took the "course". I had no first aid experience, but I signed a paper showing they taught me when in fact-- they did nothing. I have no excuse today-- but back then, I was truly naive and thought it was normal. MOST of the caregivers treated the elderly so harshly-- some much more than others. I wish I had spoken up back then-- but I honestly wasn't sure if it was wrong bc everyone made it seem so normal. I treated all my patients are if they were my own grandmother or grandfather. I loved them. And I was teased by the other caregivers for being favorited. I am now a mother of 3 kids and my parents are at that stage where they can't fully take care of themselves. And I think to myself-- I would be devastated if I found out my parents were treated as horribly as what I've witnessed in my younger years. I live with that guilt everyday that I didn't say or do anything. This facility should be investigated and shut down. The woman in this photo should be in jail-- but I think its been so many years-- she might be at that stage where she needs those services herself.

The staff are friendly and live with the senior guests around the clock. The meals are prepared fresh and customized for guest presence (they even purée and prepare separate soups for those with weak teeth). First, the home is very beautiful and very clean. Our entire family felt so comfortable and welcomed every time we visited. The caregivers are extremely attentive and treated my mother like she was their mother. There was a physical therapist that came in everyday to help my mother walk again. There was a doctor that would come by and see my mother at the home as opposed to having me drive her to see a doctor. My mother is lactose intolerant and the caregivers specially prepared meals just for her and made sure she received her medications on time.
