You can tell they love owning this place and meeting customers. I have heard so much about the Pub and went for the first time yesterday with two friends. We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. They luckily had the latter, even if they didn't have plain ones, so we got him ketchup-flavored chips that of course he proceeded to barely eat (they were actually good). He did like the French fries/British chips, and my wife liked her breakfast sandwich even if it was a bit heavy for her. My fish and chips were really freaking good. Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot. As our friends said they had booked a table one would have thought that the hostess could have checked to see if they arrived and if so at which table they were sitting. No such luck. Out waitress must have been from the same hospitality school as the hostesses. Totally bland as borderline unfriendly, in that there was zero interaction or anything resembling any sort of welcome or personally. Never even gave us her name. Again this was our first time there so we' were unfamiliar with the operation. There were a few servers but they seemed to come and go which made up suspect they were serving tables elsewhere on the premises. This was confirmed when we tried to find her for the bill, that we asked, again, for separate ones, which came, as expected, as one bill. So to find her for the bill, find her to correct it and get it back was close to 30 minutes.0 Equally annoying as the face that there was one, single seat bathroom in the bar. There may have been other facilities, but true form, there was no help from any of the staff. BOTTOM LINE: the food isn good, reasonably priced and good portions. The bar portion was very nice and inviting except for just one single use bathroom. The service and friendliness of the waitress and hostesses left much to be desired. Parking was off street as they don't have sufficient parking (we parked some 2 blocks away..) If you live within walking distance, wish to sit at the bar and listen to good music (at least last night) I would recommend Dox.. As we live close to an hour away, I can not make a recommendation to travel to have good food and entertainment at the expense of substandard service, questionable drinks and scant sanitary facilities. Sorry, it would not take much to get a higher rating but prolly not enough for us to make a return visit.

My husband got the classic Moran's burgers with fries. They don't skimp on the meat - very large patties with a good thick bun to support it. It was cooked as requested and the Moran's sauce was a nice change up from ketchup. It was a delicious burger. The dressing on the side salad was also really good! What this bar pulled was completely unacceptable. They were openly reserving seats at the bar for certain people while telling everyone else they were unavailable. There was no advertised reservation policy, no advance notice, and no opportunity offered to regular customers. Apparently, the only way to get a seat is to know the owner, know the bartenders, or be part of the inner circle. What made it even worse was that my group had been sitting at the bar, ordering food and drinks starting around 7:30 PM, only to be forced out of our seats at 7:45 PM. The reservation signs on those seats clearly stated they were reserved for 8:15 PM. We were paying customers actively spending money, yet we were removed 30 minutes before the supposed reservation time. That is absolutely egregious behavior. I've worked in sports bars and have owned sports bars in New York City. In all my years in the business, I have never heard of reserving seats directly at the bar--especially during a major sporting event. It goes against everything that makes a sports bar successful. Bar seats have always been first-come, first-served. That's Sports Bar 101. I've spent plenty of money here over the years because it was always a great place to watch big games: good atmosphere, sound on the TVs, and a fun crowd. Unfortunately, last night proved that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing. Regular patrons were treated like second-class citizens while preferred customers received special treatment. For a bar that markets itself as a neighborhood sports destination, this was incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. If you're planning to watch a major game here, don't assume you'll be treated fairly. Unless you're friends with the right people, don't expect the same experience as everyone else. There are plenty of other sports bars in Brooklyn that understand how to treat customers. After last night, I'll be spending my money there instead. I won't be back, and I certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone. Let's Go Knicks
