It Started as finding someone to do my wife's hair and get it colored. We had spent 5 hours there and the owner took charge on the steps to do my wife's hair. But absolutely ruined it 5 hours later and turns out her hair was bleached more not once, not twice but THREE times... even after my wife told her that she doesn't think her hair can handle it. It's completely dead and fried now. We didn't even make it to the color. I do not recommend going there at all. My wife went In with healthy hair as well as told the owner several times we can do simpler things to avoid her hair being damaged but she proceeded to ignore what she said and do what she wanted. Also I don't think it's very professional for the owner to be taking naps off and on while a client is there. read more

Great place to get your hair cut it's been awhile since I last got it cut from here (probably 4mth ago). The price for a men's haircut is $15. So there is nothing wrong with saving money and getting a great cut especially when you ( and I) live close by here. Go ahead make an appointment with Joseph. This is a neighborhood salon that does hair likes it's an upscale city glamour spot! We have a hidden gem here; I told her that I didn't really know what to do with my current hairstyle but I needed some thing more modern and easy to care for. An did an awesome job and I'm so happy with how it turned out!! She took her time, very detailed with the coloring process to make sure the coloring agents was not too harsh. An was 20 minutes late to my appointment, and then when she arrived, began to work on another client instead of me. She put me with another woman, who washed my hair. I proceeded to wait another 25 minutes, and An continued to work on the other client who did not make an appointment. I then politely asked to leave, and the lady who only washed my hair was trying to charge me 25 dollars for a hair wash. Ridiculous service. Waste of a hour. Would never come back. read more

The owner at this location is deceptive. My initial quote for Keratin was $180, even though I told her my hair was long. She assured me that the price was $180. When I got to my appointment on Friday, she was extremely overbooked and asked me to come back today, on Sunday at 130. An told me that my hair will take 2 hours. When I got there at 130, An wasn't there. She decided to leave for lunch a few minutes before my appointment. She had also booked 2 other people at the same time and one person came at around 2. An finally showed up and started my hair at 230. While I was waiting for product to sit, convinced my daughter that she needed a trim. We said yes. 2 hours later, she sent my daughter for a wash. Next, she had my daughter sit with wet her for an hour until I told my daughter to call her dad to come pick her up. Finally, An comes back and said I put treatment in your daughters hair and that's why we had her sit. My daughter not I were ever told or asked about applying this mysterious treatment she took upon herself. My hair ended up taking 7 hours because she overbooked herself again. This place is absolutely absurd. They have no respect for your time or money. My hair ended up costing double than the quotes. And my daughter's hair is so dry and frizzy im going to take her somewhere else and tell them what happened so they can help fix it. I am a part of 2 local women social groups that have heard my review and one of them is a local radio show host. You have been warned! Don't take your children here and Stay away!!!! read more

Update: went back this would be my third visit. My appt was with An. She was not there when I arrived. I waited. Was getting roots done. She arrived 10 mins after appt time. Took her sometime to get settled. Another lady called me to chair started matching my root color. An walked over they chatted and other lady proceeded to do my hair. When color was done she asked if I wanted it dried and styled I said please. She was very uncertain of what she was doing and hit my head twice with curling iron. Left very unhappy and concerned about the burn. My daughter wanted a perm. I sent a text to An to see first of she could what she wanted and second when was SHE available. She scheduled her at 2 on Sunday. My daughter got there 5 min early. No An. 20 min later she arrived. My daughter said three people started curling her hair (kind of stressed her out). The first chemicals did not take so they added more chemicals. Five hours later she left with looked like wet curls. The next morning (did not wash or brush) her hair was straight and her cut was very uneven. All good things must come to an end. Very sad. Maybe if your appt was with An and not ? I wish I could give this zero stars. Worst haircut I have ever gotten. I asked for layers and they are all choppy. Cut it way shorter than I asked. It was so bad I left crying. I wish the picture could show how the layers don't blend. I've been trying to style it in so many ways, but nothing is helping. The front bangs look like I have a bowl cut then the back has hairs that stick out. It's horrible. I don't know the name of the women who cut it. I've been here twice before and had great experiences, but it's sad to say after this I won't be back. read more

Stop what you're doing and don't look any further for an awesome salon. An's has been my go to since opening and I am never disappointed. Today I went (3rd time) and brought my daughter. She's gone to Sharkey's twice to three times a year for three years but she asked to go with mommy for a big girl haircut. An didn't disappoint at all. She took her time, cut my daughters super thick hair and gave her an awesome cut. It's probably the best haircut she's ever had in 7 years. It looks amazing. I got my roots done and haircut. I planned on only getting an inch or two off but An recommended a little extra for shaping and I knew to just trust her recommendation and it was so worth the extra inch off. Did I mention the icing on the cake? I had to box color my hair recently due to some stubborn grays and last minute color being needed, well of course An came through with perfect root touch up! Do not recommend. Men do not get your haircut there. I saw 3 different men leave really unhappy with their cut which caused my wait time to be almost 1 1/2 hr because An had to try and fix what the male stylist and one female stylist messed up on those men. I had a 5pm appt time with An and didn't get my hair cut til 6:30pm but not even with An but her aunt. She was fine but the whole experience was crazy, unprofessional, and not worth it. Ladies also found it weird that they washed and dried my hair before cutting it. Never had that technique at any other salon and trust me I asked them several times what they were doing. read more

TLDR: DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR. TOOK TWO HOURS FOR A WASH AND LAYERED HAIR CUT. HAIR GOT WASHED IN THE SINK THREE TIMES. LEFT WITH A WAY SHORTER LENGTH AND DRY CRUNCHY HAIR. JOSEPH WAS UNPROFESSIONAL, DIFFICULT, AND RUDE. 5 DIFFERENT PEOPLE WORKED ON MY HAIR. AN SAVED THE DAY. sorry for any typos but I'm upset lol. I came in for a wash and cut with layers at 5pm and left at 7pm. WOW. I got my hair washed, and Thomas started cutting my hair. He barely put any layers in and then tried to blow out my hair with a rolling brush to straighten it. I said I don't want my hair straightened because I don't wear it straight ever and want the layers to be even based on the curls. Him and another guy proceed to blow dry my hair and run their fingers through it and end up making it frizzy/straight-ish. I stop them once I realize and ask if they have some sort of cream, gel, oil, LITERALLY ANYTHING to get the curls back and define them. This is when Joseph gets involved. He's translating and saying that Thomas wants to get the hair straight to get the layers even. If you have curly hair, you know this doesn't matter because even if the layers are straight with straight hair, they can be drastically uneven with the curls. I start telling him this and he clearly is not listening to what I'm saying and keeps saying "that's unprofessional, we need to straighten it". I just kept reiterating that I never wear my hair straight so please just make sure the layers look even with how my hair sits when it's curly. They then have me go to a sink and get my hair SOAKED for a second time without any type of conditioner or product. Joseph then proceeds to smack gum a chair away while making rude comments about how the biosilk oil I asked to be applied to my ends wasn't going to do anything and I politely corrected him by saying it helps with the dryness, as a lot of curly haired people have dry ends. He then gets involved and starts drying my hair incorrectly and roughly while him and Thomas go back and forth in another language. It seemed like Thomas was trying to get him to dry my hair in a better way which I appreciated. But since my hair got wet in the sink and nothing was applied it's just frizzing up and getting dry. Joseph then asks for a pic of what I want and I show him a video I took after my last hair cut. He seemed shocked that my hair looked that curly and kept asking if the salon curled it for me. I informed him that it was my natural hair and the salon just actually had products for curly hair like creams, gels, and a diffuser for drying. I even went as far as to say "I understand you guys don't have that so we'll just make this work" and tried to not show how upsetting this all was. This way it would just be over with. They put some mousse in my hair and start scrunching and Joseph looks very irritated and keeps speaking to the other staff and literally every staff member in the salon is watching and some are laughing while customers are present. This is when An shows up. AN FULLY AGREES WITH WHAT I WAS SAYING and Joseph kind of just stares. He doesn't even apologize for clearly behaving like I was some idiot customer who did not know what they wanted. An looks at the video of my previous cut and gets to work. While I really appreciate her coming in, she made my hair SO SHORT. The layers are very cute but she took off even more length after Thomas and as my hair is drying, I can tell it's going to end up past my shoulders when I wanted it BELOW my collar bone. I will say she clearly knew what she was doing when she was putting the layers in and overall saved the day for me. I was then asked to go to the sink to have my hair soaked AGAIN and asked for conditioner or literally ANYTHING to be put into my hair to help with the dryness. The woman washing my hair seemed taken aback and asked Joseph for help. He came over clearly annoyed, said that An was going to "make my hair curly" so don't worry and tried to dismiss me again. I corrected him and said it's not that I thought this was straightening my hair (because I'm not a literal IDIOT) I was asking for something moisturizing to be put in as it was the THIRD TIME my hair was getting washed and the SECOND TIME WITH NO PRODUCT and I could feel my hair getting dry/squeaky which would cause it to frizz. I don't know if they put anything in after that. On the plus side, An seemed interested in some of the curly products I was taking about and had me write them down for her to look into. I hope she does because for any field of work, you should want to educate yourself on as much as possible. She seemed to be the only one really interested in learning from the experience. She's the reason why this isn't a 1 star review. read more

I highly recommend An Beauty Salon. Having my hair washed... the best head massage ever! My hair was damaged from previous hair dresser. An suggested a Keratin treatment. Just heads up it is a very long process worth every minute in end result. Her staff Michael and Julie worked hard during treatment. I was given a juice drink as a pick me up. Very thoughtful.
