I wanted sconces that would hold taper candles, not the electric sort that leave you having to hide the trailing cord. So I decide to run to Sweet Magnolia to replace a candle that had recently burnt out completely when, lo and behold!, there is the most gorgeous pair of gold-leafed wall sconces hanging right before my eyes! This is why I love Sweet Magnolia - you can find such elegant pieces here when you least expect it. I also appreciate that their prices don't put a huge dent in your wallet. $58 for the pair? I'll take them! The store also carries the greatest soy candles ever by Aquiesse which last a rather long time and come in several delightful fragrances. They also carry an array of other home goods - Forte teas, place settings, bath and body products, stationery, baby gifts, and jewelry. Definitely a great little shop for finding last minute gifts or a treat for yourself. I've seen similar items at other stores like Anthropologie for twice the price, so why not patronize a local entrepreneur instead?

When I arrived, she seemed extremely uninterested at first, but stated she would find out the price of the hous for me. After I looked at it, I had decided to purchase it, and I told her I would like to load it in the car. She became very distraught and angry Stated that she had told me to call back in 30 minutes because it would take a long time for them to prepare the house. She said that they would need to dismantle the display and it would not be ready until tonight. I told her I'd driven 40 minutes just to pick up the house and I would actually help her dismantle everything from insideif it would allow for me to get it sooner. By the way, there was only a few toys and pluses in the house. The picture is provided for everyone to see that it would only take 3 minutes to remove the items from inside! She then told me that she was very busy and I needed to calm down because she is verybusy and understaffed, and that she needs to check out everyone else in line first and I needed to step aside. She replies in a very mad way I told you to call back in 30 minutes!!!!! I reminded her kindly that she asked me to call back For the price, and I headed over because the price did not matter. I was embarrassed and humiliated, I then decided to walk away and let her check out all the other people in line. When she had done that, I came back to tell her I would help her dismantle the area for the house and I wanted to see what she could do for me. She was clearly walking past me ignoring me for a while and then she came and told me "now do you see what I just said,when we are extremely busy! She was so angry with us. I mentioned to her that she should calm down and that I would help her. Her attitude was so extremely disrespectful and aggressive and demeaning towards me. I don't even know why I bought the house, really just because I wanted to make sure I had everything assembled for Christmas for my kids. She then charged me more than what it cost to purchase the item Yes online, and the item is also marked in many areas and has some damage. I did not even complain about that. My biggest complaint is the way she treated me. It was absolutely disgusting. I work in an extremely stressful environment on a daily basis, and I have never ever talked to a single soul in this way EVER. I have spent thousands of dollars at your store, but I will never come back. I hope that everyone reads this and sees that they do not deserve to be treated this way.. Again I work in a very stressful high volume job, and have NEVER treated anyone this way Also you should have been grateful to be busy in a bad Economy, not taking it out on customers Your response shows everything. You can justify why you behaved so rudely to me all you want and refuse to acknowledge your behavior which is not excusable. As soon as we walked through the door, the person behind the desk had an attitude......I just stated my name and she didn't say anything and then she said oh I see your appointment. I don't think she was the owner....she had dark hair in a pony tail...with a green eagles type top on with white lipstick.....the only thing she asked was my budget and I said around 1200-1500.00. Then when was the wedding.....I said "July" to which she responded.....I can't order you anything for July. (I waited until April because my son was going through cancer treatment) She was so cold and nasty...... did not ask me my size, what I was looking for, what color....style...NOTHING....she just randonly started pulling dresses.......none that I would even consider...just hapazard like she was just trying to get this over with. It made no sense...my daughter and I are polite and kind....no reason for this rushy crazy experience. I went over to a rack to look and she said "Our gowns are 1200-6000....that is our trunk show line. She was saying it like "you can't touch that area"...... At that point my daughter said "I don't think we are going to find anything here but thank you anyway"....and we left. We were in the store, maybe 10 minutes tops. Oh and for being a "high end" snobby place .....I used the ladies room.......it was generic with bounty paper towels on the sink to dry your hands........no pretty paper napkin like towels to use.....it looked like a bathroom at a discount store. The reason I mention this is because we were treated so poorly and cold, like we weren't good enough to shop there. I hadn't read reviews before we went and that is my fault because I would have seen that others were treated the same way. A disgrace and really sad.

Posting this review hoping someone spares their daughter embarrassment and disrespect. Women like the ones in this shop prop up the worst stereotypes of the main line ethos.
