I did come during restaurant week and after we ordered we were told they didn't have steak but the manager made up for it! He was nice and offered us 3 free apps and half off the other stuff! But my food tasted off! The fries and Mac n cheese didn't taste as good as they normally do! But my filet was perfectly cooked and was so good! The food was very good but there is some room for improvement and I'm sure they will dial it in soon. Service was slowish, not horrible but I hate waiting for someone to take our drink order or needing another round and seeing our waitress walk back and forth without stopping to see if we need anything and avoiding eye contact. Drinks are the easiest way to raise a tab and increase your tip so seeing an empty glass and not asking if they would like another round doesn't make any sense to me. Since I'm mentioning the drinks, I have to say the cocktails were very weak, I'm sure there was tequila in my drink but I couldn't taste it. I switched to beer after the first round. The appetizers were ok. We had the ceviche, it was interesting because they used salmon as one of the types of fish in the ceviche. That's not typical but I liked it and there was a decent amount of fish in it. The problem was the balance of the acidic taste. I know that you need a lot of lime juice to basically "cook" the fish and perhaps you need more using a meaty fish like salmon but i felt like the dish was off balance and very sour and brothy. Surprised there wasn't any spiciness. Also it said it was served with "plantines" (that's how they spelled it) but came out with a side plate of tortilla chips. The thing that will bring us back though were the entrees, my wife had the lamb chops (tip: upgrade to the larger portion) I had the branzino (on the menu as sea bass) my mom had the salmon. We ordered the mushrooms (on the menu as exotic mushrooms. Good but nothing exotic about them) and roasted carrots. My fish was so buttery and perfectly cooked it was incredible. I visited on a recent business trip to Dearborn. Was a fantastic experience. Great atmosphere, over the top service! And the food was just top notch! I was with three others and we ordered several appetizers to share. Everything was unique and flavorful. The best part of the meal was the wagyu ribeye steak. I never experienced wagyu steak before but heard a lot about it. Although pricey, it was a genuinely unique steak experience and well worth it. Absolutely the best steak I have ever eaten, and I have experienced steaks at many of the finest steak restaurants out there. Wagyu just put it over the top. The flavor, the tenderness. Great atmosphere -- it's a cool building. We split the cheese tapenade appetizer followed by the tomato burrata salad (really tasty and a bit larger than I expected). I did an 8 oz filet which comes with slivered crisped mushrooms and a baked garlic bulb and gravy as a dipping sauce (both are on the side). My partner did the same salad but also had quinoa cakes -- a bit of an Asian preparation. He really enjoyed it. The menu is primarily steaks and seafood. I'm hoping they'll add a dish or two for vegetarians. I realized that if I were bringing business guests to the restaurant I'd want to make sure they can be accommodated. Came here for the first time earlier this week, hosting a customer holiday lunch. Everyone seemed to enjoy and things were going well until I noticed a piece of masking tape or bag in my steak tips. I elected not to say anything due to the circumstances, but won't even returning. Shame! Service was pretty good though. read more

I was visiting clients and traveled from Chicago and we decided to dine in at mint 29. I ordered there 220z steak which was 56 dollars. I ordered the steak rare considering the price. Upon placing the order our table was told that we only have a hour and 45 mins at our table. We then placed our order and the food was sub-par at best. Has to be the best steakhouse in Dearborn if not all of Michigan. The 40 day dry aged steak is to die for. For upscale dining its at a great price point. Let's me start off with saying that the Decor and the high ceilings are beautiful. Such a nice place in the heart of West Dearborn. The appetizers were amazing. The smoked salmon, tuna poke and the shrimp cocktail were excellent. Only thing I recommend is that you order extra chips with them but besides that they were delicious. I had the 22 oz bone in ribeye that was dry-aged for 40 days and was HALAL. It was so delicious and the zip sauce was amazing also. I wish they would put some sort of bread in the table when sitting down because we asked if there was and there wasn't. Another thing I suggest is that there was no chicken dish for the dinner menu. My wife doesn't eat steak and isn't a fish person. Besides that everything was delicious. I think they need also add some steak toppings such a shrimp if you or a Oscar style maybe. This weekend I celebrated my birthday with six of my friends at Mint29. I was super excited to eat lamb chops and to drink and be merry!!! I thought I had picked a place where spending my hard-earned cash would be worth it and that I would be able to create great memories. Sadly, I was super disappointed by the service my friends and I received. For it to be my birthday just made it worse!!! We were seated right away which was great! However, our waiter Avery didn't even bring us water or take our drink order until 30 minutes after we were seated. I asked for ten jalapeño slices for each guest (the pickled ones) and they couldn't provide that and never gave an explanation why but, ok! So then I asked for olives. I was charged $1.50 per person for the olives that took forever to arrive at the table. On a Friday night, they had no Lamb even though they knew they ran out of it yesterday and that is their speciality on the menu. The mac and cheese was bland and that is being polite, extremely polite.Then everyone ordered a medium steak yet somehow a well done steak ended up at the table. My husband received a gift card here for his birthday and we decided to tuck it away for our anniversary dinner. This place does not disappoint. The atmosphere, the service, the food - everything was on point. We started with the mussels in the white wine sauce, 4 raw oysters & the beef tips. The oysters were some of the best I've ever had, the mussels were perfectly cooked and the sauce was divine (PLEASE serve some bread with it because I could've drank that sauce out of a mug) & don't even get me started on the beef tips. The zip sauce they're served in is to die for. They're tossed together with wild mushrooms and topped with fried, crispy onions. My husband ordered the ribeye & I ordered the lamb lollipops. We specified that we'd like them cooked medium and they were done perfectly. We also ordered a side of mushrooms and a side of the au gratin potatoes. The portions of both were very generous for sides, so be sure to order some! The prices are higher than some other places, but your paying for quality here people and it doesn't disappoint. Food was good not great. If you want a $40. Steak that tastes like the $10. Steak at Applebee's than this is your place! Every time (and I mean every single time) someone walks in and tries to get a table the Hostess says "Let me find out" and walks to the back of the restaurant stairs back at the restaurant for a long time and then comes back to podium to say "30 minutes". Every time the answer was 30 minutes. Servers seem slow and clueless. Probably not their fault because they obviously have not been trained by Mr. Blue jeans and sport coat (AKA Manager). The Manager guy looks like Kramer from Seinfeld and walks around just as clueless. This place does have some promise of a better future...as long as it gets a new owner, new staff, new cooks and a new menu! read more

She messed up the order and it took 30 minutes to get it corrected after we already waited 30 minutes for the first round of food. Everyone was done eating and the one person who didn't get her food wasn't even offered a side, soup, salad or app to hold her over while she waited.
