Fries!

Best fries in Dearborn? Nice seasoning and perfectly cooked. Thoughts! I think so, amazing food and service

Steak tips and garlic toast

Surprisingly good food and an elevated menu for a sports bar! Oakwood has excellent steak tips- great meat quality, tender, and flavorful always. The au jus adds moisture and exaggerated flavor, making the experience a little more interesting, but they're fine on their own! I normally dip the toast in it. You could make little bites with the steak, sauce, and toast or do as I do and eat the toast on its own. I would also recommend their seared ahi tuna appetizer- always fresh, always delicious. The food at Oakwood is tasty and consistent. It stays pretty busy and the parking lot is often full, so much so that you may need to find street parking. It's dark but comfortable inside with booths, high tops, and the bar as seating options. The service is friendly but you do occasionally have to flag the staff down on extra busy nights. They have two pool tables if that's your thing, play music, and have daily food and drink specials. It's a dark and cozy spot for locals meeting for an after work happy hour, department celebrations, or a place to watch the game with friends. You don't gamble by going to Oakwood Bar & Grill, it's gonna be good :) For my non alcoholic brothers and sisters, they have Heineken and Labatt 0%

Amazing experience. Ambiance was chill. Seating and bathroom was clean. Cheapest impossible burger for MILES and it was great! Fast service, good prices. Not much else to be said.

Fly Southwest Salad

I've been here multiple times for drinks and apps. , as I work around the corner. Recently in the area for an event, looking for lunch. No better place. My dad loved his giant burger. Pretty sure their chicken strips are the best in the area. I had the Fly Southwest salad. I don't know how, but I ate it all. It's huge. So good!

"Music is blastin', we're havin' a ball Everybody doin' it, right in the hall Doin' the Detroit breakdown Oh Motor City Shakedown" (J Geils Band) I'm on the board of a non-profit and we all met in Dearborn for our Mid Year meeting. Our second meal together brought nine of us to the Oakwood Bar & Grill for lunch on Wednesday. Its very much has the look of an old school place with dark walls and dark furniture, It has plenty of tables, chairs, and booths and big screen TVs (we watched some World Cup soccer during lunch). Lots of familiar comfort foods here -fish and chips, soups, fried chicken and seafood and fish, burgers, sandwiches, and chicken, steak, pasta, and Mexican and Italian style entrees. I went with a bowl of their chili (just $5.50) and a Side Salad ($4.00) Pretty reasonably priced, right? My meal was fabulous! The chili was slightly spiced and came with a blanket of diced onions and cheese. It was a good portion at a fair price and I thought it was a great value. Now Side Salads can be a tricky proposition. Sometimes they come in a teeny tiny size, like the plastic cups you get with cocktail or tartar sauce. Not here! My side salad was a big plate of lettuce, quartered cucumber slices, thin onion slices, diced tomatoes, croutons and a dusting of shredded cheese. Another dish with a high "value". Our server did a fine job with our big table and we walked out quite satisfied with everything - food, price, and service. By the way, there is a pool table in the back with the a marinara sauce red felt!! Very cool indeed.

I'm surprised that Al P hasn't been promoting this place! Jive Turkey Reuben and Onion Rings. Photo doesn't do it justice.

The TLDR: The "Jive Turkey Reuben" is one of the most delicious and satisfying sandwiches you will ever find. I'm not joking, I really do mean that. Now, Oakwood Bar and Grill is a casual spot populated mostly by locals and Ford workers with some visitors sprinkled in since it's only a 5 minute drive from The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. It's on my rotation whenever I'm in the area because of the impressive food menu that offers a little bit of everything: Burgers, sandwiches, wings, pizza, steaks and seafood. It's all a good value because of the generous portion sizes. Their beer list is pretty impressive and of course they have plenty of Michigan brews available. Their bartenders can make most any drink you might want with the awesome liquor selection they carry. I'm sold on this place and if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular. A solid 4.5 stars. My top 5 recommendations: ** Cracklin' Calamari - Crispy, crunchy and flavorful. ** Jumbo Lump Maryland Crab Cakes - Succulent sweet crab patties sauteed to perfection. ** Sweet Teriyaki Glaze Salmon - Fresh tasting Atlantic Salmon drizzled in a sweet teriyaki sauce. ** Jive Turkey Reuben - This is a half pound of turkey on fresh marbled rye bread with a delicious cole slaw. Get yourself some onion rings with it. ** Fish and Chips - These would make most any up standing Irishman (or damned-ass Brit) proud. X The only thing that didn't impress me was their Impossible burger. I mean, it was good as far as Impossible burgers are concerned but I'd rather have ~3 BK Impossible Whoppers for the price of their one. ** Also, they get very busy, very fast so get there early or head over in the late afternoon or early evening for better service.

Usually love coming here. I ordered the Big Bacon Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. I get my burger with just lettuce on it. Very disappointed. Service was quick for a to go order. Probably will stick to ordering inside from now on.

Steak Bites - Delicious!

Booked a private dining room for a family dinner. We had a medium sized party with dedicated…read morewaitstaff and excellent attention. The room was cozy and had a fireplace for ambiance. We tried multiple appetizers and started with cocktails! Everything was delicious. The entrees offered options that were vegan, pescatarian and of course meat options. Everyone was satisfied and enjoyed their meals. Some even saved room for dessert. The crème brûlée and the chocolate cake were definite hits. Note: The menus are provided on an iPad like device and you are able to get pretty detailed information about your selections.

During that call, the hostess assured us that we would not be charged the $50 cancellation charge. As it turned out, we were able to come in that same evening and dined at the restaurant, first enjoying drinks in front of the fireplace then being serviced by our favorite waiter, Paul. Despite this, a $300 cancellation fee was later charged to our card. When I contacted the restaurant to resolve the issue, the matter was escalated to management. The response focused solely on reiterating the OpenTable cancellation policy, without addressing the specific circumstances: we called in advance, were told we would not be charged, and ultimately honored the reservation by dining that evening. We have also stayed at the hotel and previously rented the private dining room, so this was not a one-time visit. That history made the interaction particularly disappointing. Policies are important, but so is discretion and guest communication. In this instance, the service experience did not reflect the level of hospitality one would expect. I hope this feedback encourages a review of how guest concerns are handled moving forward.

Prices are high but the quality is undeniable. Ordered a tomahawk steak for a birthday dinner…read more Perfect maillard sear. Perfectly seasoned. I won't take a star for this, but it's much more a brazillian steakhouse-inspired restaurant than a brazillian steakhouse. I mean that with full compliments and hope the menu is inspired more in that direction for future updates. Staff was wonderful and the venue was quiet, and that's because it's far more fine dining than hectic table-shuffling waiters in a open, noisy venue. I hope they embrace that more and open the menu for items priced closer to a more frequent dining experience vs. just for special occasions. I want to see quality like this succeed by enhancing so many pre-existing strengths.

The food was excellent, especially considering everything is halal. We had the steak, truffle…read morefries, and garlic mashed potatoes, and all were made just right. The steaks were perfectly tender and cooked exactly how we asked. Each item was uniquely flavorful and didn't feel generic like many steakhouses. The Australian Wagyu really stood out, and I can finally say I've had Wagyu. The Brazilian steak was good as well--more familiar in flavor, similar to what I've made myself on a cast-iron skillet, but still enjoyable. The sauces were solid overall. The chimichurri was flavorful but a bit oil-heavy for my preference. I liked it more than the spicy aioli, and the cowboy butter my least favourite. The servers were very kind and polite. As constructive feedback, they didn't seem very seasoned for a steakhouse, and I think the service could be elevated with some additional training. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and nicely decorated without being overly flashy. Lighting is slightly dim, which works, but the overall ambiance didn't quite feel like a steakhouse. The music was very low, almost nonexistent, and the place felt unusually quiet. The parking lot felt a bit sketchy, and the surrounding sidewalks aren't well maintained (not the restaurant's fault). This stood out when compared to the quality and cost of the food, which is expensive but fairly priced for what you get. Good luck and I hope this place ends up being a gem and people love it!
