The selection of Thai and Sushi was a great mix for our large group. We tried several of their sushi rolls, all were fresh and tasted amazing. We also tried their panag (which is my favorite Thai dish) and it was perfect. For an Thursday night it was busy but we were able To sit promptly and had great service.

Walking into this restaurant transforms your mind to a big city feel! It has low yet colorful lighting and decorated in a very classy manor! Staff is friendly and accommodating. The tuna was fresh and tasty! So fresh it tasted like it came directly from the ocean to my mouth! No exaggeration! The seaweed salad was like other restaurants of this type but still good. Fish roe was served in lemon peel with gave it fragrance. This is a MUST visit!

We lived in New Orleans from 1995 to 2007. When I moved there, I was well aware of the city's illustrious dining reputation and that fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood was a big part of that legacy. What never occurred to me was that the bounty of fresh fish would also make New Orleans a great sushi town. We took plenty of advantage of that during the decade-plus we lived there. (Back in those days, the NOLA sushi joints weren't exactly adventurous, but there were a number of places where everything would always be super-fresh and well-executed--and very reasonably priced.) When we moved to Cincinnati, I knew our sushi habits were going to take a hit, but holy crap, I had no idea how big of one. For the most part, sushi was absolutely atrocious here in 2007. An embarrassment. We did eventually discover Ando, which was terrific, and Mei, which is very solid, too; there were also a couple of excellent Japanese options over on the Kentucky side, but they're like 30-40-minute drives for us. But damn, the ones closest to us, Ando and Mei (especially Ando), can break the bank if you don't watch it. But we basically gave up on trying to find a worthwhile mid-priced sushi place in or around the city. Not long ago, though, a little birdie told my wife about Mint Bistro, and although I was skeptical, the wife had some reason to trust this source. Our source was largely correct, thank Christ: Mint Bistro gives you a solid sushi experience without burning up your wallet. It's an Asian fusion place, which I probably reduces the sushi selection you get here, but there's plenty to put together a satisfying sushi meal. We've had some good nigiri (salmon, yellowtail, and fatty tuna have been pretty great, all with some of that melt-in-your-mouth butteriness), and we've really liked the Sunkissed Roll (pretty simple, just a spicy tuna roll topped with salmon and avocado) the couple of times we've had it. The couple of apps we've tried haven't been quite as good: seaweed salad is pretty basic and okay, but gyoza were quite bland. The proprietors have done a tasteful job with the place--it's a sharp-looking and comfortable little restaurant, and nicely lit. The staff has been welcoming, pleasant, and helpful, too. We have to drive at least 20 minutes to get to Mint, but so far it's easily worth the extra time compared to some of the Asian fusion/sushi places five minutes or less from our house (almost all of which we don't even go to). That ought to tell you a lot right there.

This is a great local establishment. It has a nice atmosphere for socializing and a sushi bar for privacy. The help staff is amazingly friendly and attentive. The food has great flavor and is abundant with a very large menu

Very upscale-feeling and the nicest Asian restaurant I've seen. Diverse options. Would recommend.

Nice to see something other than a chain restaurant in this area. Stopped in for a quick visit and the sushi was great. I will be back.

Back in Dayton and looking for Dim Sum. Not many choices but Yami popped up with 4 stars. 13 min…read moreaway. Let's go! This place definitely used to be a Golden Corral because, well I never forget a place that gave me severe bubble guts. Slightly renovated to resemble a Chinese buffet, I'm actually pleased by the selections. They do have a little Dim Sum...dumplings, sesame balls, sticky rice with chicken. The usual suspects are there... General Tso, Chicken with broccoli, chicken on a stick, French fries, chicken wings, Lo mein, fried rice. Nothing really stood out but it was better than most buffets I've been to flavor wise. Limited sushi selection but they do have a larger dessert area. My personal takeaways were the sesame balls, the sticky rice with chicken and the fried rice. The Hot n Sour soup was pretty good also. There's also a hibachi but I didn't try it. So $16.11 it was nothing sensational but it was good for a buffet. Walking back to the car bloated and ready for a nap, but at least not driving to the ER like with Golden Corral lol.

I admit, I was hearing/seeing a lot of hype about this place, so while in the area, I decided to…read moregive it a try. While a step or three above the "standard" Asian buffets, I didn't find it to be "life changing" experience I was hoping for. Are there some different, not commonly found at other buffets options? Yes, along with plenty of the standards to keep just about everyone happy and full. Clean, well-stocked Asian buffet "standards" along with some surprises, and definitely something for just about everyone... A "tad" higher priced than some other buffets, but you definitely won't leave hungry. Check it out if you're in the area...
