    Tamarind Shrimp Entree

From the outside, Mint Chinese & Thai Cuisine doesn't look like much, and that unpretentious vibe continues when you walk in. The space is simple, with basic tables and chairs and minimal décor. But what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for with warm hospitality and great food. My friend and I were welcomed by a friendly couple as soon as we arrived. Since we were the only diners at the time, we chose any table we wanted. Our food came out quickly, and the service throughout was attentive. We started with the Roti Canai (one piece for $4.00), served with a side of curry for dipping. While it was advertised as spicy, the curry was more savory than hot. However, it was still flavorful, and the flatbread was soft and easy to tear. For our entrees, we ordered the Tamarind Shrimp and the Assam Pedas, both generously portioned at $14.95 each. The Tamarind Shrimp leaned on the sweeter side, and the shrimp were tender and juicy. The Assam Pedas, a Malaysian curry with string beans, red onion, tomato, and pineapple chunks in a tamarind sauce, had a satisfying spicy kick. The pineapple added a tangy contrast that tied the dish together well. Overall, we had a great experience, and I left satisfied.

Came here on a Sunday evening when I was craving Thai food. The chef is Malaysian and they serve, Thai, Chinese, and Malaysian food, and everything is Halal. I had the spicy garlic eggplant and added tofu. I also got the roti canai. Both were tasty. Service was a little off bc everyone was in the kitchen or on the phone so it would take a minute if you need something. They have a busy takeout service, and I would probably order take out, but prob not come back in to eat. The food is definitely delicious!

Halal food and great location. Highly recommend the Malaysian food over the Chinese! Friendly staff and quick service. Soft drinks were a little off, I think they mix themselves but wasn't horrible.

I went to this place last week because I heard that they started serving halal food. This is the only halal chinese, thai, and malaysian restaurant in the area. I was impressed with it, but it lacked a bit more flavor. I loved the hospitality and the menu, but I felt overwhelmed looking at it! To my halal lovers, check them out because they have amazing options

Ordered this through FOODA at work. Can't say that I was a fan. I ordered 45 minutes before they wrapped up for lunch (they're only on-site for 2 hours). Guess business was good because they were out of rice. The gentleman in front of me only asked for a little rice so that I could get the remaining scrapings...and scrapings they were! The rice was hard and just not cooked well. That's the one thing you expect to be cooked right...the rice! The Sesame Chicken was the star of the meal. It was really good...but I was only able to get a little because they were running low. It was your typical; basic Sesame Chicken. Nothing fancy, just way better than the Chef's Special or the rices The Chef's Special was kinda flavorless. If included shrimp, broccoli and an assortment of other vegetables with a sweet taste. Enjoyed the broccoli. Didn't care for the shrimp and the other vegetables were just there to fill the dish. For $9, I will have to skip next time.

They came to our job with Fooda! I got the mint sampler. Sesame chicken, Kung Pao chicken with rice. It's ok. The service was great. Typical Asian food. Very standard

I'd gotten a mailing advertising 15% off online or call-in ordering. Since it's so close, I just decided to dine in. Interior was tasteful - not fancy but had some touches to make it look warm and intimate. The fresh rolls were not bad. Hoisin sauce and rolls were standard Thai fare and tasted fresh. The spicy basil shrimp was just ok. Nothing at all wrong with it, but was seriously lacking in spice and flavor. The ingredients were certainly fresh though. So yes, overall, it was about average. Giving a three for ambiance and the fresh rolls, but can't give more due to the lack of seasoning. Maybe some of the other dishes are better? Perhaps next time we'll see.

Looking at the reviews, an average of 3.5 stars, made me nervous... The menu options sounded like everything I was craving, but I kept my expectations lowered just in case. Let me just say... I was very pleasantly surprised. My friend and I ordered food delivery via grubhub: Vegetable steamed dumplings, Tom kar kai soup, green curry with shrimp, and Malaysia flat noodle with shrimp. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! I would definitely recommend these dishes. My only critique is that, while delicious, the green curry was a slightly off-putting color (it looked like it was dyed green rather than being a natural shade). Other than that: 100% loved it!

Ordered off of door dash for some Friday night take out. This definitely fell short. The fried rice itself was good but the chicken in it literally had no seasoning at all. The wonton soup was very salty. The ginger dressing for the salad was chunky and not really a dressing-had to scoop it out with a fork. Skip this place and get your food elsewhere!

A2. Two Fresh Basil Rolls M2. Masaman Curry
    Emily H.

Ordered the Masaman Curry and Basil Fresh rolls on a whim for lunch takeout. No avocados in the masaman curry despite it being in the dish description on the menu. It's pretty bland and...dry? Can't quite describe it. The upside is that it is filling and there was a generous amount of shrimp in it. The fresh basil rolls were yummy, but only 2 pieces of shrimp opposed to the average 3 (I'm a fresh roll fan lol) and FULL of noodles. Way too much noodle! And could've used more basil, but that's just me. The saving grace was the sweet peanut side sauce from the rolls-- delicious with the whole meal, especially the curry. For $25.00 after tip though.. I'll likely consider other options next time.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

To me it needed more flavor, seasoning and it didn't have any spice what's so ever! I wouldn't get it again. The thing I found annoying/unprofessional was the staff taking forever to give me and my friend out checks. We came into the establishment an hour before they closed. At that time a lot of people were still in the place. However, by the time we received our checks we were the last people in their establishment. The other individuals were the workers cleaning up. The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is.
