The egg drop soup was sadly bland, it had no flavor and was served in a small take out Styrofoam bowl. The hot and sour soup had more flavor. The drunken noodles nor general tso were not spicy at all. The general tso could have been crispy but still good amount of meat. Spring rolls were great! But what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for with warm hospitality and great food. My friend and I were welcomed by a friendly couple as soon as we arrived. However, it was still flavorful, and the flatbread was soft and easy to tear. For our entrees, we ordered the Tamarind Shrimp and the Assam Pedas, both generously portioned at $14.95 each. The Tamarind Shrimp leaned on the sweeter side, and the shrimp were tender and juicy. The Assam Pedas, a Malaysian curry with string beans, red onion, tomato, and pineapple chunks in a tamarind sauce, had a satisfying spicy kick. I discovered Mint recently and am very impressed by ingredients and portion sizes. The coconut chicken soup has good amounts of chicken and mushrooms in there. Better than most places. What really made me write this recommendation was their customer service. We ordered 7-8 things from there yesterday. When I got home, I realized that while most of the order was correct, there were spring rolls in place of my wife's crab rangoons. We were just discussing that it's no big deal and I received a call from the store. She said that she made a mistake and either come get the crab rangoons right away or any of our future trips. Came here on a Sunday evening when I was craving Thai food. The chef is Malaysian and they serve, Thai, Chinese, and Malaysian food, and everything is Halal. I had the spicy garlic eggplant and added tofu. I also got the roti canai. Both were tasty. Service was a little off bc everyone was in the kitchen or on the phone so it would take a minute if you need something. Ordered for takeout through Door Dash and they do their own deliveries (so you can't track it). I didn't know that restaurants still put menu flyers in mailboxes but lo and behold! However the first thing I noticed is that the paper menu does not match what you can order online. I didn't love the coconut chicken soup. Very little chicken and barely any depth of flavor. The steamed shrimp dumplings were okay as was the pepper steak. My bf enjoyed the Szechuan chicken although it had an overwhelming taste of celery. Ordered this through FOODA at work. Can't say that I was a fan. I ordered 45 minutes before they wrapped up for lunch (they're only on-site for 2 hours). Guess business was good because they were out of rice. The gentleman in front of me only asked for a little rice so that I could get the remaining scrapings...and scrapings they were! The rice was hard and just not cooked well. That's the one thing you expect to be cooked right...the rice! The Sesame Chicken was the star of the meal. We have ordered take out there on 2 occasions. The first time we had the pad Thai and the Singapore noodles. The second time we got 2 servings of the Singapore noodles, as it was by far our favorite. The spicy basil shrimp was just ok. Nothing at all wrong with it, but was seriously lacking in spice and flavor. The ingredients were certainly fresh though. So yes, overall, it was about average. Looking at the reviews, an average of 3.5 stars, made me nervous... The menu options sounded like everything I was craving, but I kept my expectations lowered just in case. Let me just say... I was very pleasantly surprised. My friend and I ordered food delivery via grubhub: Vegetable steamed dumplings, Tom kar kai soup, green curry with shrimp, and Malaysia flat noodle with shrimp. Ordered the Masaman Curry and Basil Fresh rolls on a whim for lunch takeout. No avocados in the masaman curry despite it being in the dish description on the menu. It's pretty bland and...dry? Can't quite describe it. The upside is that it is filling and there was a generous amount of shrimp in it. The fresh basil rolls were yummy, but only 2 pieces of shrimp opposed to the average 3 (I'm a fresh roll fan lol) and FULL of noodles. Way too much noodle! And could've used more basil, but that's just me. The saving grace was the sweet peanut side sauce from the rolls-- delicious with the whole meal, especially the curry. For $25.00 after tip though.. Good for a casual dinner date, nothing fancier. Service: Served with not much waiting time - everyone that has served me is very friendly and makes sure you have what you need. Food: I usually go for the Thai food, which is good quality and portions are large enough to be doggy-bagged. Lunch is cheaper prices and I would say would make the food worth it. Dinner is $2-3 more expensive for dishes, but it's not amazing Thai food, as the dishes taste very similar and doesn't have a savory enough flavoring of typical Thai spices for me. It does satisfy cravings though. I've had the sushi there once as well - this was a bit disappointing and I wouldn't order it here again. That isn't to say that I wouldn't go back though - this is definitely one of my go-to Thai places close to the area where I live (walkable). My fave: Emory students get free thai iced tea! When my husband arrived to pickup the order I placed, an older man behind the counter insisted they hadn't received it. After several minutes of explaining to the man, then back and forth calls between me and my husband. My husband showed the man an email receipt I sent him. Suddenly, a lady from behind the curtain appeared to say "oh, your order will be ready in 20 minutes ". My husband was infuriated, hungry to say the least, and was treated incredibly rude with no apology given for their mistake. I liked that both dishes tasted very different from each other, one slightly sweet, the other slightly spicy, and both having very tasty flavors ... almost addicting b/c it was really hard to stop eating. The flat noodle beef was just okay but below average. I got the lunch portion for $7, which is a good deal. But the taste was just average. It was a little salty and the salt overpowered the flavor. It comes with an egg roll and choice of soup or salad. I should have asked for the salad since they put piping hot soup into a styrofoam cup. Yuck. I just threw it away. The egg roll was just average. The inside is pretty old but they added some touches to make it not look so old. The inside can hold about 30 people but it would be tight since the interior isn't that large. You're greeted by a hostess who is nice but isn't very good at her job. Some training wouldn't hurt but then again it's just a small restaurant. If you want a cheap eat, come here. But if you're in for the overall experience, go elsewhere. read more

This is my 3rd time ordering from Mint. Their Chinese cuisine is palatable; I had their Thai once, but it was awfully bland. It had been a while, so I thought I'd give the Thai one more chance... It was a horrible mistake. I ordered the Pot Stickers w/ Meat and the Panag Curry, special instructions "Extra Chicken, No broccoli, and Extra Spicy." The pot stickers were pretty good, but the dipping sauce was too sweet and not soy sauce-y enough. The panang curry *shudders* was the most bland Thai food I've ever had, no exaggeration. It tastes like Mild even though I specified Extra Spicy. There are no spices in it, the broth was runny and thin, and the huge chunks of peppers tasted raw and clearly not cooked enough. I've never cooked Thai food before, but I genuinely believe I could have done a better job. I'm a little hungover today and I meant for this meal to be comfort food, but I couldn't even eat this halfway and now it's being stowed away in the fridge until tomorrow. The portions are large, but that's insignificant if it tastes bad. Chicken quality is kitty cat, so be ready for that. Lo Mein has the same issue - bland and kitty cat. The Tom Yum soup, which is advertised as hot and sour shrimp soup had 1 piece of shrimp! 1! The broth was tasty but what can I do with 1 piece of shrimp. Come on.
