Tom Kha Soup: 6/10. Warm and full bodied, but not the best tom kha that I have had. There was a slight lack of spice and basil. But i do appreciate the generous prices of chicken it came with. If you are really into a flavorful Tom Kha i don't recommend. Been coming to this place for decades, probably one of the first Thai places my coworkers and I used to eat lunch at. Had small groups to large groups meet here. The lunch specials are the best, as you can get a smaller portioned lunch with soup. My favorite has been the pad see u with chicken and I get it medium spicy (2-3 stars). I've also had most of their other lunch specials and can't really go wrong with any of them. Service has always been consistently good, as the lunch crowd can make lunch a little slower, but everyone has always been friendly. read more

For an appetizer we for the vegetable samosas and the shrimp roll. I enjoyed my samosas but thought the rolls were too greasy. However my bf liked the rolls and not the samosas. For lunch entrees I got the beef rendang while my bf for the spicy fried rice with shrimp. I asked for spicy, from the menu it had one to three chili peppers so I asked for three but was told the scale was actually one to eight. I like spicy but wasn't sure what "eight" would be so I got a five. Felt like a one, maybe two. Barely any kick. The dish itself was just ok. I did like the beef but thought some of the pieces were too big not to have a knife to cut it (probably could have asked for one, just didn't). The sauce it came in was just ok. I actually preferred the sauce that came with my samosas and asked for more of that which they then proceeded to say would cost an additional $0.75. I just don't get charging for the little bit of sauce they give you. At the end of the night they're probably throwing it away anyway. I tasted my bf's fried rice which was good. This place was excellent, from the food to the staff. We were seated quickly and weren't rushed to order, as can happen in some restaurants. The waitress noticed that my friend was talking, and after a reasonable amount of time, she brought us some water and asked for our drink order as well. We ordered appetizers, which were delicious. We had fried calamari and spring rolls, and then we ordered our entrées, which were just as appetizing as they were plentiful. The food and conversation were so enjoyable that I forgot to take pictures--I apologize! However, I can recommend some dishes that you will thank me for later. We had the honey butter shrimp, which came with a green honey sauce. At first, we were a bit cautious but intrigued. I took a small scoop and was pleasantly surprised. My family and I went to this restaurant today just 4 adults and our 18 month old twins who did not eat anything. We all cleaned up behind ourselves. The food was good but no one ever came to ask if we needed anything. I asked for the check and I politely asked how many people before they automatically add gratuity . A rude older woman called Sandy pointed to our twins and said " they are humans" and are counted. I was going to tip anyway, but her mannerism was the worst. A solid rating of 4 stars...wish they would add a bit more spice to their dishes or at least ask what spice level one wants. We have been here now three times over the past 6 weeks. Still believe that a rating of 4 is deserved. However, the last visit might not have been as good as the other 2. It was a Sunday afternoon so maybe the main chef had the day off. These are the dishes we have tried on our visits: - Martabak - Malaysian pancake stuffed with curry minced beef and onion. Very tasty. Never had anything like this. The curry taste was some of the best. Asked for some type of sauce to dip it in. They returned with a peanut sauce..they might should add it to the menu! - Nurr Nam Tok - Grilled ribeye with spice powder, mint, basil, red onions, lime juice, ground chili and I really believe fish sauce even though not mentioned in description. Asked for no fish sauce. Got it and it was great. - Spicy Basil Ground Chicken, AKA Krakow Gai. Very good, had lots of sauce for the rice. Could have used some heat. - Honey Butter Shrimp served with chopped onion and bell pepper and broccoli. Asked for no broccoli so they added more onion and bell pepper...perfect. It is also served with a Honey Butter sauce, at Food Terminal(sister restaurant) it is served with a Pandan Sauce. Same here. Asked if it was the Pandan Sauce and they didn't know. But they did confirm. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The Pandan sauce was very good. Nothing left in the bowl - Spicy Basil Leaf with Chicken - gets a rating of 3. Somewhat watered down. Not much last of basil and no spice taste. Chicken was a little chewy. wouldn't order again. Stick with the Spice Basil Ground Chicken. - Nurr Nam Tok -See comments on first visit. Forgot to ask for no fish sauce. When it arrived we tasted and said "Oh, no we forgot to ask for No Fish Sauce....guess they do have it in their ingredients. Just not as good as first time. Portions are very reasonable. Especially for the lunch specials that are daily until 3:00PM. Service is friendly enough. Will definitely go back due to location. read more

I hadn't been to Top Spice in nearly 10 years when a friend was in town and wanted to visit. Of course it was a great time as I remembered in the past. I ordered Chicken Satay as an appetizer and beef Rendang. I will say the Chicken Satay is a generous portion and great for a shareable table appetizer! I also ordered a Roti on the side and a Fruit Punch made made from the bar. The entire meal was delicious however the rice was cooked too soft for my liking. I hate when places cook the rice too soft!- Get a rice cooker! Lol In all, this is a solid restaurant! Top Spice is pretty darn good Thai food. * Initial thoughts: The place is casual yet classy. It's well lit, has some nice decor you'd expect at most Thai restauraunts. It can be used as a place for a nice date night dinner or for larger parties as well. * Service Our server was great; she was nice and accommodating. As a vegetarian, she ensured that certain items were strictly without meat and asked if eggs were okay. * Food: The food was great! Our appetizers admittedly left us fairly underwhelmed. We ordered the Curry Samosas and the Roti Canai, which for the price, the portions were very small (albeit still delicious). For our main course, I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai (I always get this dish) and comparable to other Thai restaurants, I was very pleasantly surprised. It's easy to get one Thai restaurant's take on this classic dish mixed up with another. However there were two distinctions I should make that made my meal much more enjoyable. The dish itself was more of a "wet" pad thai with much more sauce which resulted in much more flavor. Alongside the larger pieces of tofu, there were also miniature pieces which was a nice touch. The final distinction was when we got the bill and the receipt read "NO FISH SAUCE" - which I cannot tell you enough - how appreciative I was of this. My girlfriend ordered the Masaman curry which felt a little more milky than other locations. Other than that, another solid dish. Nothing too specific to notate on. I ordered two drinks. The first was a Mojito and the second was a Mai Tai. Both were great, and a little on the stronger side for these drinks. Also they came in a large glass (larger than I expected!) We opted against dessert as there were other options nearby. * Summary Top Spice is a great option to eat at if you want slightly different takes on classic Thai dishes. My son and I came for lunch on. a Saturday. The lunch menu is served until 3 pm and is a bargain with either coconut soup or vegetable soup. We ordered the pad see ew lunch size and chicken fried rice. We also the basil rolls and roti cani as additional appetizers. Everything was delicious and we still brought home half of our lunch portions home It is an excellent value, staff is friendly, and service was speedy. This has always been our "busy night- want Thai food?" place. The nice perk is that they deliver and they are always on time. We each have our favorite dishes too and so I usually call, give my phone # and ask them to just repeat my last order. Beef Satay- 4 skewers with well marinated thinly sliced and cooked beef on them. Served with cut up cucumbers and red onion and have a side of peanut sauce. This is a favorite of my kids. Thai House salad- this is cut up lettuce, tomato, cucumber, hard boiled egg, bean sprouts, and fried tofu bites served which a similar Thai peanut dressing. Pad See Ew chicken- wide rice noodles with a slightly sweet soy sauce served with broccoli. The portion size is large enough for 2. Ginger chicken- this is my hub's favorite because it's a light ginger sauce and lots of veggies. Portion size is also large enough for sharing. Comes with rice. Red Curry- it's good with lots of flavor and peppers and onions in it. Comes with rice. Fried rice- we sometimes splurge and get this too. The portion is large. The flavors are more on the mild side which I enjoy since every dish has its own flavor to it. read more

Don't be afraid if you hear the faint whispers of "Shrimp Net Rollllllllls~" while you're riding around Atlanta. It's just my friends and I trying to figure out what we want to eat and one of us going "hmmmm.....Shrimp Net Roll?" and then the rest of us agreeing and wondering why we were taking so long in the first place. Top Spice has been a haunt of ours for years. At this point, I've had almost everything on the menu and all of it's bomb. My personal favorites are the Pad Prik, Pork. The Pad Thai, Pad See U Beef, and the Chicken or Pork Daging Nyonya which is basically fried chicken or pork. It's a Thai restaurant with the standards of Thai food that you're used to, you know what you like. But more importantly, go get some shrimp net rolls. They're great! The fried wontons too. Appetizer wise, get both and go ham. We've been here for shrimp rolls alone, it's the one thing we all agree on and we always get a whole table of e'm. All in all, plenty of parking - good food, great prices, amazing service. Top Spice wins a lot in my book. Tip - Their lunch menu is served 11-3, even on weekends. read more

The seafood noodles were were good. It comes with shrimp(4), scallops(4),mussels(3) and squid(the most). I didn't like the squid as it was very bland but the other seafood was good. Everything was tossed in a spicy basil sauce which was delicious but though it had 2 to indicate the level, but I didn't find it that spicy. A friend and I had lunch at Top Spice @ Toco Hills. Normally I dont leave reviews. However, the customer service we experienced left me no choice. Our waitress was not pleasant at all. She did not like us changing to a smaller table next to the one where we were originally seated. After moving, she took the menus from original table and threw it on the new table. She never came back to ask if everything was Ok. She was an older asian waitress. Another waitress who appeared to be Caucasian with ponytail and glasses. brought my food to the table who spilled the hot juice from my dish all over my blouse and pants. This place Has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE when waiting and serving customers. A LOT of TRAINING is needed at this location. I ask the older asian waitress if she was feeling Ok. She said Yes. She was not friendly at all when taking our orders. She never came back to ask if we needed anything. WE WILL NOT BE BACK To This location. I can not take any Thai food spot seriously if they DO NOT use Thai chilies (or some form of fresh chili) nor Thai basil in the food. Quality has declined the past few years. This restaurant used to be award winning, but no more. I used to order weekly. The last 4 times food was sincerely 'off'. The pad see ew with shrimp had mushy shrimp and I had to toss. I have always disliked the amount of oil/sauce on the pad see ew, the noodles just swim in sauce and sometimes the noodles are just stuck together, but the taste of the sauce was always good. Another week I tried the pad see ew with chicken. The chicken looked and tasted old/not freshly cooked, and I had to pick the chicken out too. Two other weeks I ordered the nam sod and there were tiny white hard pieces in the ground pork. Too many dishes have red or green bell peppers, or the same ingredients with a different sauce. There's no change in the menu or specials since they opened. Both were reasons why I always ordered the same thing every week. I had been a regular customer since they opened and I came back weekly even when I moved out of the area. Sadly, I haven't found another reliable place. read more
