I found out after the fact that they were billing roughly $4,000 a week -- a number they never posted, quoted, or gave me any estimate for in writing. No itemized invoice, no advance notice, nothing. On top of that, the shop sat on the damage photos my insurance company needed for over a week before finally sending them. That delay directly extended how long my car sat in their lot -- which is exactly the storage time they're now trying to charge me for. After my insurer determined my car a total loss, this shop refused to release it -- to me or even to my own insurer's tow -- unless $11,000 in storage fees was paid first. My insurance company has told me directly that the shop is essentially holding my car hostage over this dispute. I've been carless for weeks because of this. My mother is currently hospitalized, and not having a car has made it far harder to get to see her when I need to most. This shop's handling of my vehicle turned an already difficult time into something so much worse, over fees they never even told me about. Would not recommend.

We had an terrible experience working with Thompson's Mobile that I wanted to share as a major…read morewarning to those that might be considering using Jason to repair their car. At the end of the day, Jason charged me $1300 to repair and paint a dent the size of a tennis ball in the rear quarter panel, as well as fix a scratch in the rear passenger door. Now, I have to pay $2900 to have a real body shop fix the crappy job that he did. When he first told me my car was ready to pick up, it was at night, so I didn't see the workmanship until the next morning. There were swirl marks all in the paint, and grey cloudy areas - blotches all over the area he worked on (see pictures - happy to share more if you'd like to see). Jason agreed to try and repair it and when I got the car back the second time, it was still very noticeable how bad the paint job was - scratch marks, uneven paint, cloudy spots, etc. Jason said he didn't know why this was happening - he thought that his buffer was faulty. Seriously? On top of that, the inside of the car was an absolute mess, with grey dust/powder all throughout the inside of the car that he didn't bother to clean up. It's unimaginable for him to return the car to me in this condition. So I took the car to 3 different auto paint shops to get their opinion on the work I received and they all couldn't believe the "Mickey Mouse" job I got. They pointed out a number of issues with the job Jason did. For example, he didn't remove any of the molding or hardware before painting, so there's obvious lines in the paint. In one section, the paint is actually peeling off because of the way the car wasn't prepped properly. In another section, he taped off the area he was going to paint, so there's a very visible line in my paint - the old part and the new part - that you can see and feel. Horrible. The worst part is that while Jason acknowledges that his work was sloppy, he's unable to offer any refund because his business is currently not making any money. He said that he's not covering his expenses and that he might have to declare bankruptcy. Not a huge surprise given the quality of his workmanship. So please beware of having Thompson's Autobody repair your car.

This is my 4th time and every time he exceeds my expectations in every way at a very reasonable cost. Honestly I wasn't sure this damage could even be fixed 100%. Like I kind of expected there would be a noticeable gap in the lines or something else. It was a weird kind of damage. When I picked it up I couldn't believe how good it looked. It's all very smooth like new. My car now looks like when I first bought it. This is something I've come to expect from him though. They also detailed the car, buffed out the front headlights (complementary and I didn't ask), and the paint matched beautifully. He asked me if I wanted to replace the tail light too but decided to hold off on that as I wanted to keep the cost down. This was $ from my own pocket. Not the insurance. However he did tell me he'd install it free of charge when I decide to replace it. He also keeps up to date on the latest techniques and equipment. They went in from the inside instead of the old way of punching holes to pull the metal out and puttying it over. Pulled off the inside paneling right down to the metal and used some kind of pressing machine. The results are amazing. Not even an expert would know anything was done. Jay

After many failed attempts to get my car started, I called AAA but it wasn't the battery. So I, based on my one past good experience with Showtys, decided to call Showtys for a Mobile Mechanic visit. It was Father's day weekend and was in a bind but had no reason to doubt follow-up. I called service shop I was familiar with but they were closed and the AAA's recommendation shop was closing at noon. But, I waited, and waited, and waited. I had sent Showtys, as requested on my phone call to them a text with the required information, but never received a call, never showed up, never even called to apologize for flaking. Sunday then came around, and I figured Oh well, maybe they will call me Monday morning. Out went my Father's day plans and Monday came and went.
