Wow! I can honestly be pretty skeptical when it comes to dental offices because I've had experiences where I left feeling like I was being sold a long list of expensive treatments. MINT Dentistry was the complete opposite. From the second we arrived, I noticed how much they focus on making patients feel comfortable. There were plenty of reserved parking spots for MINT patients, and after my husband and I stopped for coffee beforehand, we were pleasantly surprised to find toothbrushes and toothpaste in the restroom so patients can freshen up before their appointment. It's a small detail, but it speaks volumes about the thought they put into every part of the experience. A huge thank you to Kristin, the Practice Manager. She was incredible. She made navigating insurance and payment options so much easier than I expected and explained everything in a way that actually made sense. I never once felt pressured or like I was being talked into something I didn't need. Instead, I felt like she genuinely wanted to help me make the best decision for my dental health. Dr. Kheri was equally impressive. He was kind, thorough, and took the time to show me exactly what he was seeing instead of expecting me to just take his word for it. I walked away understanding my teeth better than I ever have after a dental appointment. The entire office feels different. Everyone was welcoming, the technology was impressive, the massage chairs were an unexpected bonus, and for the first time in a long time, I left a dentist's office feeling informed instead of overwhelmed. My grandson was treated at this facility where the dentist hurt him deeply by drilling too deep and damaging the nerves. I was told by Cheyenne Duran (main office person) that the insurance company would be refunded so that he could get the work done that the dentist damaged. She lied, there was no money returned to the insurance company and now there is a large bill for damage this dentist did. I requested a copy of the agreement with a breakdown of what would be returned but Cheyenne Duran assured me they would be refunded. IF YOU ARE SMART, YOU WON'T GO HERE FOR ANY WORK. But, No. My new cost is almost 5X the original for the exact same service which they told me as I checked in for my appointment. This is all with insurance! I called my insurance provider to see if anything changed on their end, nothing had changed. My husband had his first appt here last week. He came back stating he wouldn't return. He said that this place was just about churning patients in and out and didn't explain much more. So I decided to keep my appt as a new patient and see. It was a general cleaning check up appt. My hygienist cleaned like 75% of my teeth, flossed my teeth with improper technique and called it a day. My dentist probed around, made comments about cavities and encouraged me to schedule for treatment. She neglected to comment about my gingivitis and never addressed my teeth sensitivity concern. I felt that overall the level of care was subpar and not at all thorough. We have had many dentists from moving around frequently. Every dentist I have seen all consistently noticed the same dental problems I have. Mint dentistry did not notice/comment on any of it--maybe it was due to neglect, maybe due to inexperience, or maybe due to the fact that these problems weren't going to yield additional revenue for the practice. No. Terrible experience. After asking questions about the services and what's included in the plan, I decided to move forward based on the information provided by the rep who scheduled the appointment as well as the staff in the office. I mentioned the advertisement of a whitening kit provided on the visit and was told it would be provided by staff. After the dentist spent 5 minutes in the room with me...I asked again about the whitening kit and was told that it wasn't that strong and would only lighten teeth a couple shades but not the filling in front. I didn't mind that because I was only concerned about a little whitening to help with coffee stains. After the front desk secretary went over the thousands of dollars I would have to pay to finish treatment...I told her I will make appointments at a later time when I was prepared to pay for the first treatment. I asked for the whitening kit and it was not provided. This is the kind of office that is money hungry and will lie and say anything to get you in the seat. Just be mindful, in my opinion, the money is more important than them caring for your teeth. I asked for a refund due to the false advertisement and deception of three dentist....I was then directed to speak with patient feedback team, who seems to be one person named. Maggie. Maggie provided partial info, not prompt to call backs, was misleading, and rude. The customer service.is terrible and has caused me a considerable amount of stress. I want my $150 refund for this dental membership and Maggie gave me the impression that I would get it. Instead, they mailed me a check for $50 and mailed me another person's refund check. They hire new grad dentist that don't know what they are doing. They try to disguise the inexperienced dentists by their new looking facility. They have various dentist work on you making it impossible to have a positive professional relationship with your dentist. I was unaware of how inexperienced these dentist were until I moved to California. Since I moved to California I have a dentist whose been in the industry for 30 plus years. I've had to have crowns replaced due to improper placement. My dentist thought it was very concerning to seal a crown knowing it was not placed properly in the first place. I had to pay out of pocket for work that should have been done right in the first place. I am 41 and have had 3 cavities in life. They tell me I have like 7. Which is wild because again, never has this been my issue and my last exam elsewhere was perfect. I allow them to do the fillings, which they charge far more than any other dentist. I had to go back 3 times to try and correct the damage they did to one tooth. I have consistent pain on two teeth that TWO different dentist "filled." Again, I had zero pain before going to MINT, now I can barely eat a salad without pain. I remember the dentist kept grinding for 20 minutes on the new crown, to get the bite right, and it concerned me that it was making the crown thin. The dentist told me only a little bit was shaved down and it should be fine. Well now the crown has a HUGE HOLE!! So I made an appointment to have it looked at. When I showed up for the appointment, I learned I was cancelled due to MINT transposing my phone number and my appointment not being confirmed the day prior due to having the incorrect phone number. They offered me their only and last appointment for the year on December 31 so I can use my benefits. I was reluctant after having to leave work and having the appointment cancelled over MINT's error, but I agreed and ensured they had my correct phone number. Not receiving a confirmation for my new appointment now that I know how MINT operates, I called the office to ensure I am not leaving work for a second cancelled appointment. When I spoke with the receptionist I was told that they still have my phone number incorrect as they tried to call me to inform me they no longer accept my insurance. Initially I loved this place in 2012. I got my wisdom teeth taken out all in one sitting and did not feel any pain after the procedure, it was great. I got a root canal done here that was not sealed correctly and I ended up having to go to a specialist. My husband got venneers done and loved them until one fell out while he was eating. It was not a big deal because they were able to put that same one back on. Then one fell out in the front and they took ZERO responsibility for it. We ended up having to go to whole other dentist to get it fixed (had to get a dental implant) and another just fell out AGAIN and will have to go to that dentist to get it fixed. Consumer BEWARE!!!! Save your money.....buy your own teeth whitening..... I had an initial appt here (xray, exam, cleaning) and it went well. This was around November and although there were several red flags, I decided to go ahead with the treatment proposed (I mean I'm not a doc so....). The plan, which said I had about 4 -5 cavities (odd because I regularly see a dentist) was set up pretty quickly. At this appt., I realized something sketchy at the end. They asked me to do a review, a paid review...well kinda... I arrived to get my cavities filled and right away I noticed a few things, un-professionalism. Since this was my 2nd visit, I was leery but I needed this work. Four cavities, right??? The staff was lightweight rude. The "dentist" was discussing her pregnancy and why she kept it secret. She also outed 3 other pregnant staff membersre and discussed some of their water cooler talks. I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate that. Since she and the assistant were both pregnant at the time, they had a back and forth discussion as they thought the provided headphones kept me from hearing. The technique used was different and I was very apprehensive. Once done, I was again approached to do some reviewing (for extra product-you know the "free" whitening they offer). I politely declined. At this point, I wanted to be done....but within a week, my tooth had pain. One of the ones worked on, the entire left side was out of commission. I couldn't chew on that side and I couldn't drink on that side. I called for an appointment. It was the end of the year and I have two insurances, so I said I will just get the tooth checked out and throw in a cleaning for my time (as I am allotted 4 per year). The lady on the phone said AND I quote "you have some bomb a$$ insurance". I really can't make this up!!! I showed up to the appointment to be met by receptionist who have no answers, ever, to anything. All they want to do is give you sunglasses and headphones. I waited for my scheduled appointment more than 30 minutes. No one checked on me. When the assistant picked me up she was confused why I was there and said she had to talk to the "dentist". I will never do business with this business again. They are deceitful and they do not stand behind their work or honor their word. I needed a root canal on a tooth that already had a crown but the dentist said instead of removing the crown and doing the root canal, I should go to their endodontist because he can leave the crown in place and do the root canal through it. I did what the dentist said and in the process the endodontist broke my crown off. He finished the root canal and told me they would have the regular dentist call me to reschedule for a new crown. I paid $1800 for what turned out to be a regular root canal since he broke the crown off. Now they are trying to charge me $990 to put on a new crown that they broke. So if I did this I would be out $2790. Had I just had the regular dentist remove the crown, do the root canal, and put a new crown on, it would have cost me $1890 according to their posted pricing. They did show me a number on a forum I signed saying that Mint can't be responsible for damaging other dental work while performing dentistry. Anyway, the told me to go to the endodontist when it would have been a much better option to have the dentist do it the more time consuming and cheaper way. I was also told that the success rate for this type of root canal was low in respect to not causing damage to the crown. This was told to me by the office manager. The district manager won't call me. They hide behind the store manager who has no authority in these matters. Their advertisements state how they do the right thing and everyone should be able to afford dentistry but when they are put to the test, they fail. Hey, you do get a $.10 pair of sunglasses. When I called to reschedule and ask why I wasn't notified beforehand that the location would be closed, they said that they "just didn't know" and that there wouldn't be an appointment available for over a month. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IT IS A RIP OFF! I've been hearing about this place on the radio for a while. So my insurance recently changed and it was time for a teeth cleaning and I decided to try them out instead of going to the Dentist I've been going to for years. And honestly, of course the free teeth whitening lured me in. So I show up to my appointment and I knew I had some small cavities I needed to fix. Nothing major. The dental tech/ hygienist was cool. It was very hectic and kind of unprofessional with people just walking or standing around talking. Maybe it was so noticeable because you're not seated in an actual room. It's an open floor concept The hygienist started my teeth cleaning and was like wow u don't have much to clean so his cleaning job was literally half ass. I brush my teeth at home better. Then, it took forever to get the doctor to come and see me. And they were all on walkie talkies which also made me suspicious of what kind of work I would be receiving, Whatever. So finally the doctor walks in and starts talking to me like she's annoyed with me. That really pissed me the fuck off. She immediately started talking about how I need two teeth pulled in the back and since I have a cavity on the bottom tooth to pull that one also. I guess to match? What the fuck. I'm like ok here we go, immediately there was a referral to the Endodontist. The she started showing me "cavities" on my teeth that needed to be crowned instead of filled? 6 in total. And all needed root canals! Also what the fuck. So basically the appointment was done finance person walks in and started showing me the price chart. She said 50.40 would be the price for the filling but if they decide to put a crown on it once opened up it would be 697 plus 185 for root canal. So basically I was suppose to be ready to pay either 50 dollars or 600? And I knew where this was leading. A FUCKING RIP OFF!!!! The total for my bogus finance plan was almost 4000 dollars!!! So I decided to go and get a second opinion at MY dentist (THE REAL KIND THAT CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS AND WHAT HE DOES) and I needed a total of 185 dollars worth of work. NO TEETH NEEDED TO BE PULLED AND NO CROWNS AND DAMN SURE NO ROOT CANALS WERE NECESSARY. I had surface cavities from not flossing properly. So, THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF AND THEY OVER-DIAGNOSE YOU TO MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE OFF OF YOU! If I could give negative stars I would have. So where do I begin is the question? My appointment was on November 1st at 10:30. I arrive at around 10:10. I complete all my paper work before my schedule appointment only to be seen to a room 30 minutes later after my appointment time. While waiting in the room the 360 degree x ray machine fails downstairs so now my dentist assistant is gone trying to solve that problem. She comes in does her job excellent. No complaints. Once she finishes she says a doctor will come in shortly. Not the case at all. I waited may be 45 minutes until I seen a doctor. While waiting the dentist assistant started on my whitening trays and they was even finish before I seen the doctor. The doctor comes in does the exam. Says I have two cavities. Cool. No problem. My insurance will cover 80% let's do them. She tells me a treatment plan coordinator will come in discuss the cost and we can go for there. No coordinator never came! So I'm waiting in the room for maybe another hour and nobody came just my great dentist assistant coming back checking on me. After I get aggravated I walks down stairs ask what's the problem. A lady tells me they are talking to the insurance. If I want to leave they will just email me the treatment plan. Cool. Three hours of my day gone no cleaning, no fillings, just some x rays and whitening trays! I call back two days later. They still don't have my treatment plan. A week go by I call still nothing. I call again demand to know when can I get my teeth cleaned and etc. The lady said she will send my treatment plan in an hour. I receive my treatment plan and the bill says $950 dollars for 11 fillings. First I was told I had two cavities. Now all of a sudden I need 11 fillings! I email the lady she tells me some crap. I've never been scared of the dentist, but MINT has made me (Both Locations Mockingbird and Uptown) Uptown got aggressive with the drilling, and Mockingbird's head Dentist did my second trip, she ignored me when I said one of the teeth that was drilled was bothering me. I've moved since and went to a Dentist in Chicago, turns out they chipped one of my back teeth. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Don't be fooled by the sexy motif, this place isn't good. The dentists are rushing to finish (who cares if my crown is even fit properly) the dental assistants are complaining about their weekend life problems (while my mouth is being worked on) and when I asked about getting my tooth filed down bc I had a small crack, the dentist said "oh no we can only offer veneers!" What??? So since I figured I had no other choice, I asked about the veneers. They said some marketing guy would come and speak to me about pricing, but guess what? Nobody ever came in there! I waited 30 minutes and finally just walked to the front desk to checkout. Bottom line, DONT GO HERE! Very unprofessional and they treat you like you are just another money bag! Mint Dentistry does sub-optimal dental work and their charges are fraudulent. I had an appointment on 9/25/2020 for dental work. Two fillings were a part of this dental work. Within two weeks' time, I needed to return to have both fillings redone because the bite was off on one and the other one came out. It's been about eight months since then and both fillings have come out again, yet I refuse to go back to them for more "correction". This is miniscule compared to my next complaint. On 4/22/2021 (7 MONTHS LATER), I receive a "SMC Balance Request" that says the following: "Your current balance is $1,570 at Highland Hotel Mint Dentistry. If you want to take care of your balance online, you can do so here. Otherwise, we can take care of the payment over the phone at (972)893-8742. We appreciate you being a Mint patient!" I then immediately received a phone call about the balance. There is no invoice, no explanation, just a $1570 bill all of a sudden SEVEN MONTHS LATER. I speak to the representative about what it entails and she has no idea. I understood why she didn't when I finally received it; it was impossible to understand. I asked her to send the invoice to me. She immediately told me that she will give me 60% off the bill if I pay today. That drew even more red flags that this organization is fraudulently charging patients. When speaking to their agent, I asked if I had a past due bill, why had they just now contacted me seven months later. Also, let's bring in the Smile Direct Club that I previously called their Mockingbird location to cancel two months earlier, and the agent that answered the phone assured me it would be canceled, yet, every month since then, I've still been charged the $5. I asked the agent if I really owed a balance, which at that time would have been five months later, why didn't the agent I spoke with at the Mockingbird location tell me that when I called to cancel? Another red flag! I digress on the Smile Direct Club as this would not have been a big deal until THIS agent tells me she's unable to cancel it until I paid the $1,570 bill. Another red flag. I insisted she cancel it, which she said she did after questioning her on it multiple times, and she said she did. Guess what? Another charge has since been taken from my account. I will be flagging those as fraud with my bank. The agent did send me the bill and this is where it really gets interesting. The charges for service are astronomical. There are so many debits and credits on the invoice that it's impossible to make it make sense. It says I have a "Loan Amount". I don't have a loan with them. The invoice is dated 04/22/2021 and the past due balances in the 0-30, 31-60, 61-90, over 90 days all state the past due balances are ZERO DOLLARS. Which tells me Mint Dentistry is fraudulently making up invoices, claiming people are delinquent, waiting several months later to ask for payment as if people will just pay it, and then quickly offer you 60% off as a good gesture to "help" resolve it when you question it. I also cannot tell you how many times they have reached out to me about scheduling my next service since I received this invoice. Why would you be trying to schedule service with a delinquent patient? I reached out to the individual that sent me the statement on 4/23/2021 asking her to call and explain this invoice to me because it made no sense. I informed her if she didn't I would be filing formal complaints against this company. NO RESPONSE. I reached out again on May 4, 2021 saying I had not heard back and also informed them that I was still being charged for the Smile Direct Club. NO RESPONSE. I wrote that same individual on May 7, 2021 stating I still had not heard from Mint Dentistry. NO RESPONSE. I want this invoice to be removed, these monthly charges stopped and credited back since February 2021 immediately, and no further communication from Mint Dentistry ever again. I see this is a common theme among complainants and I am happy to add mine with the expectation that they either clean up their act and have integrity in their business practices, or to warn potential customers not to pay attention to their fancy, expensive billboard advertising throughout DFW, or they will be sorry. This is a place that spends money on offices, iPads, sunglasses and marketing yet skimps and hires bottom of the barrel dentists and fraudulently bills you for their shoddy, sub-par work. I hate to write a bad review about a practice considering all of the time and efforts put into dentistry, however, it is vital for me to share my experience here. If I would have known there would be permanent nerve damage beforehand, I would have flown 3 hours home to just see my home dentist. I chose Mint because it is conveniently located next to SMU where I attend classes. The office is modern and has an updated look. It is impressionable at first.. their marketing strategy is a bit more advanced compared to your "mom and pop" practice. But do not be fooled. The dental service for the initial visit was mediocre. Not good enough to be impressed, but not bad enough to complain. I didn't have the same "clean feeling" as I would get after the visits in my hometown.. just felt slightly more clean than how it feels after usual brushing. They said I had several cavities, which I found to be a bit bizarre, but anything is possible. The other dentist I saw 6 months prior told me that I had some minor calculus on my teeth, but nothing really worth going after. After Mint showed me the spots on the screen, I agreed to get the fillings because they said it was better to clean it up before it progresses, plus I realized that my diet had not been entirely healthy since starting college. When I returned for my fillings, they loaded my mouth with Novocain for such a minute procedure. I could not keep my mouth closed and basically looked like I just had a stroke. In the past, I have walked out of a maxillofacial procedure looking better than I did for these tiny cavities. It was HORRIBLE. I would have rather gotten the fillings without any Novocain, had I known that they were going to overload me like that. It was so embarrassing to have to stand in the lobby and try to talk to the receptionist in that condition. After the Novocain wore out and I could finally feel my face and observe my teeth, I realized that NONE of my teeth were fitting together. I have NEVER had an experience like this. The cavities were only on the left side.. my jaw was closing very crookedly. I called them immediately and they told me to get an adjustment. I went back and they made the teeth fit slightly better. After trying to fix it many times, the doctor became impatient with me. She was getting upset because she could not do her job correctly. When I got home from the adjustment, I had a cool beverage and the entire left side of my mouth, where I had the fillings, were in extreme pain. It felt like the nerves were damaged. Never in my life had I ever had any pains in my mouth. So I called again and they tried to assure me that it was only because the adjustments were not correct and the tooth was feeling pressure. One of the doctors told me that they often do many adjustments for fillings.. I have NEVER had to return for an adjustment on a filling before this experience. So I returned for another adjustment. The same doctor kept trying to correct my jaw, but just could not get it.. so she called over another doctor. He tried to assure me that the only reason why I was having extreme nerve pains was because the adjustment was not correct. He made my jaw fit a lot better. Still not perfectly, but better. He said that the pain should go away in 4-6 weeks. It NEVER did. The pain in my nerves is irreversible after these fillings and I can no longer drink cool water. Ice cream is out of the picture. All for TINY, TINY cavities that could have been easily fixed by a professional who actually knows what they are doing. It was extremely unfortunate to find out from my new dentist that there really isn't much I can do besides modify my diet.. nothing can repay the physical and emotional cost of this appointment that screwed up my mouth forever. Please learn from my experience and find an ethical dentist, not a dentist who lies and says that permanent nerve damage is just a "poor adjustment that will go away." read more

After having been a patient for several years, I am telling all my friends, coworkers, family to steer clear of this establishment. I had a root canal that went terribly wrong. The dentist at Mint even told me that it was a difficult tooth with lots of canals. I guess the confidence level was through the roof to perform such a procedure on a "complicated order". After a couple of years or so after having the procedure done in their Dallas office, I developed an abscess on my back molar...the tooth on which they had performed the root canal. In severe pain, I called in December to see if I could get in for an urgent appointment due to the growth on the gum. I was told that I could not be seen until the second week of January. Not pleased with their answer, I decided to call another Mint Dentistry to see if they could squeeze me in. I was told that I would have to see the original dentist that performed the root canal. After getting the run around and being completely unsatisfied with Mint Dentistry, I chose to go to another dentist, who when I called their office, they seemed a little more caring about the fact that there was an abscess on my gum and that I needed to be seen ASAP. I got XRays done of my mouth since I was a "new patient" to this particular office. The dentist informed me that the dentist who performed the root canal might have left a utensil in the canal. My new, wonderful, caring dentist told me that instead of her attempting to deal with such a difficult tooth, she suggested an endodontist. I now have a happy mouth with all my happy teeth but having to pay 3x for the same tooth is beyond me. Save yourselves. Big names in dentistry isn't all it's cracked up to be. The radio spots telling you how great it is...is a blatant lie. The facility is great and the people are nice enough, I guess, but you should leave your mouth to real professionals. I have to totally agree with Stephanie W. and the other poor reviews. I went to this office because it was close to work and they advertised to have "complete dental service". If any one states that this place is a great dental office, they were just impressed by the ambiance and the polite customer service. First, my cleaning was half fast, no gum test, no flossing of gums, no gum measurements. Your gum health is very important! They didn't even bother to evaluate each tooth. I too received conflicting information about my dental care, by the dentist viewing my x-rays. She stated that I didn't need crowns on my teeth and then, when confronted about the estimate, she stated that she miss-spoke after she thought about it and that I needed crowns because she nor the practice would complete the filings that I needed. I have visit too many dentist to not know very well what is expected during a typical visit, and these guys delivered a piss poor performance. The techs and dentist here are very incompetent. They even forgot to provide me the results of my x-rays to show how deep my cavity was , as well as the free take-home teeth whitener. I have great dental insurance, but the prices were still outrageous that I knew that I was getting ripped off. I decided to go to a great dentist office near my home who found things that they missed, (not a shocker) two more filings required and they quoted me half of the cost that wad quoted to me at Mint Dentistry. People, give your hard-earned money to someone that cares and that will do the job right the first time. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SMOKE-SCREEN PRATICE!!! read more

I have never experience so much pain in my entire life, and it is all because of Mint Dentistry. They re-filled a cavity and went too close to the roots. When they went to refill the cavity, they did it incorrectly so my bite was completely off. Because of those two reasons, I got an infection. I even went back to Mint b/c of the pain, and all they did was shave the tooth a little more, making it worse! I went to a different dentist who was able to do an emergency root canal and crown on my tooth. PAIN. All is well 1 year later, but I had to endure some crazy pain for 4-5 months. Go at your own peril. These guys are young, inexperienced, and pretty much fill "cavities" in order to make money. Don't let the glitz fool you. The dentists watch the TV that was meant for you while they are working on you. I've never written a terrible review before now. I only do so now b/c it was one of the worst experiences of pain I have endured in my life. Tooth pains are no joke. read more

Had a great experience when I went to Mint Dentistry as far as the service was concerned. Just came in for a routine cleaning, after they advertised specifically to my company, a large nearby corporation, that they accepted our insurance and had some great deals for us. When I came in I mentioned the ad from our company, so there's no doubt that they had some knowledge of the kind of benefits my insurance provided. That's why I had no problem believing them, when they kept offering up minor things, assuring me that my insurance would cover it. I made the mistake of trusting them on this, and acquiesced to a couple of procedures, that, let me reiterate, I was assured would be covered by my insurance. I did not ask for these, they recommended I get them since it wouldn't cost me anything. So after all was said and done, I gave my insurance to Mint, and walked out the door a happy customer. Now here I am two years after the fact, still dealing with a previous insurance company, Mint Dentistry, and a pushy and threatening collection agency. So here's the timeline: A few months after I went to Mint, I received a letter from my insurance, informing me that those procedures they assured me were covered by insurance, were in fact not covered by insurance, so the insurance company refused to pay. Bummer So I called up Mint to ask about my conundrum. They assured me that it was their mistake, and they'll take care of the issue. Great. Uh-oh, the next month I receive a bill from Mint in the amount that the Insurance company didn't pay. Bummer. So I call Mint again, really concerned at this point. They assure me that my debt has been cancelled and that I may continue to receive a couple of bills before the next cycle, or something like that. A couple more bills came, but since I was verbally assured that my debt had been taken care of, and I had been told a few more bills may come but I shouldn't worry about them, I figured the issue was resolved. Good. Fast forward about a year. I get an unexpected letter from Mint Dentistry explaining that "since I refuse to pay my balance, it has been turned over to a collection agency" Bummer. Once again, I find myself on the phone to Mint, asking, frankly, "what the hell?" They assured me that it must have been some mistake and they will call the credit collection agency and have my name removed from the list. Fine. Credit agency sends a couple more notices. So I contact Mint again, telling them that the collection agency won't let up. They apologize, nice as ever, and say they will get it taken care of. OK... My trust has been tested in my dealings with Mint Dentistry, but about three months go by and this time it's a call from the collections agency. I tell them I'm at work, but this has all been cleared up with Mint, so he should call them. He curtly responds that he will be dealing with me right now, and it's not up to Mint Dentistry, he's getting his money from me. Bummer. I will now sit here and patiently wait for the two thugs to come by and break my leg if I don't cough up for that minor dental procedure I had over two years ago, that, despite all of Mint's assurance, turns out was not covered by my insurance. So if you decide that you just can't resist their totally hip logo, and their prime hotspot location deep in the heart of Dallas's coolest scene, just beware that they'll be lying through their teeth to ilk every last cent out of you they can. I came in to check about a tooth that had cracked, and then I needed two root canals and 7 fillings. The root canals were gong to cost me $3,662 a piece, including the crown. I went to TWO other dentists the following days and both said I didn't need a single root canal and that I only needed 5 fillings. This place is a scam. Avoid MINT dentistry! I went to Mint for a routine cleaning and was told I had 5 cavities, 2 of which were extremely urgent and needed to be filled immediately. The treatment plan I received, even though MINT was technically in-network for my insurance, was extremely high. My insurance only covered less than 20% of the cost per filling. A quick search for cost of cavities showed mint to be in the 98th percentile for filling costs in the Fortunately, life got busy and I was unable to follow up for several months, where I went to a smaller family practice office. They redid all my x-rays and told me I actually had ZERO cavities. I had only 1 tooth that showed partial demineralization (one of the "high urgency" teeth). The other 4 identified (including the other 1 "high urgency" tooth) showed ZERO enamel loss, and on exam were also fine. I really wanted to like MINT. The marketing is slick, the offices look great, and the staff are friendly, but I can't give a good review to a place that over diagnoses and would've overcharged me for not one, but FOUR completely unnecessary procedures. read more
