First of all, the atmosphere of this place is amazing, you enter and the staff greet you and are so friendly. They have a cool Chinese cooking show they constantly had playing the entire time we were there, and what I think was Balinese gamelan music playing which was pretty neat. Onto the actual staff, and I mention them before the food because the service was out of this world. The woman, who I assume is either a manager or the owner judging from how she interacted with returning locals, was so funny and kind and went out of her way to treat us right. At the end she even gave us extra candies after we expressed how good they were. The actual food was incredible for the price, the pad Thai was only 12 bucks but easily could've been double that for the quantity and quality they give. The drinks came out a little slow but they were so good that I had completely forgotten about that by the time I was done with them. I heard good things about the spring rolls (you can see it in the back of my photo) and they're really big. We'll definitely be coming back more than once in our time here. read more

Great Thai food close to home. Dishes were bursting with flavors that attacked the palate. Spices were on point and even though we ordered our food with the 2 alarm it still brought on the heat! Not sure what the #5 is like but it must come with a fire extinguisher. Very satisfying grub at this place. Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles with seafood and a Papaya salad and Curry Puffs. The salad was packing a little too much heat for my wife but was perfect for me. The chicken/mashed potato curry puffs were delicious. We had the Ginger in the Garden, Fried Tofu, and Massman Curry ; which smelled so good I started eating and since it was some of the best I have ever had, I stopped to take pictures and write this review. I got the drunken noodles and Burmese fried rice. Both were bland and I added my own spices to them at home for flavor. I'm from Southern California and used to authentic Thai food with lots of flavor and this is really watered down, and the fried rice had like the prepackaged green bean/carrot /corn mix... not very Burmese if you ask me. Very whitewashed Thai food. However even though the flavor wasn't to my liking it was still decent quality and hot. We only have been here a few times now, and it has been such an amazing time always. The owner is present and always welcoming and very friendly. If you don't understand something on the menu they'll explain it or what it is alas very helpful. Now the food, the FOOD IS AMAZING. Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. We had takeout from the old location several times and those were 4 stars. The new location downtown we've had once and it was 3 stars, just rating the food on taste. I'm a bit late on this review after my lunch last week. I've been by MINT a few dozen times and failed to notice this pleasant little spot on the corner. My mistake. Stopped in for a late lunch on the search for Pho. Mint, the proprietor, met me at the door and set me up right away. (I like to sit at the service counter to check out the kitchen through the doors). Menu selection was awesome. Had a hard time choosing, but as a Pho freak, had to start there to begin my eval. Phenomenal! This Pho is not served "Thai-Med", as many are and can be overly spicy. Served nicely seasoned, with a homemade Thai pepper and garlic sauce to add the heat you need. OMG tasty! I dosed to the point of a mild sweat. Ordered crab rangoon and a fried tofu salad for dinner later in the day. Excellent. MINT is family run, clean, well lit, extensive menu and rumor is, the best pad thai in town. Careful of the traffic, especially during snow bird season, it is on a busy corner my only concern with MINT in Punta Gordo. Enjoy! read more

I ordered a Drunken chicken noodle, it's a combination of stir fry flat rice noodle, chicken, bamboo shoot, red and green bell pepper. Very tasty. My husband got a chicken Pad Thai and he said it was a bit sweet but it was good too. This was our first time at mint Asian cuisine and it turned into a wonderful evening. The staff is very friendly attentive and professional. The food was outstanding freshly made to order on everything we ordered. The spring rolls were the best I've had, The wonton soup was enough to make a complete meal and the coconut-based soup was so full of vegetables and chicken you could hardly finish it. We ordered the pad Thai chicken and a fried crispy duck which was more than any one person could eat. Preparation was perfect and the seasoning was just as we both had asked for. Mint the owner came out to meet us and Than her Son and who was our waiter was very personable friendly and very efficient. I had the drunken noodles (level 1). It was tasty BUT I am giving them 4 starts instead of 5 for two reasons. The number and size of the shrimp was SMALL. I think there were only 6 in the whole dish. The second reason was the price for the dish was $12.00; therefore I expected more shrimp (yes I like shrimp)! They also do not serve pork or beef which does not affect me, therefore I did not take away any stars for that issue. My wife and I love this place! Authentic Thai/asian cuisine and absurdly delicious. Top it off with a very friendly staff who remembers their customers and treat you like family and you have the ingredients for an amazing restaurant that is one of our go-to places in the area. And don't even get me started on their little grocery store attached to the restaurant. We stock up on Curry leaf and Thai Basil whenever we are there, as well as a bunch of other stuff. They stock frozen dumplings there that are wayyyyyyy better than anything I have ever seen at a grocery store. Filling legit tastes like I made it at home.
