Worm

We came here because my son and husband ate here last weekend and thought it was great and wanted to go back. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and found a meal worm in my food. I showed it to the server and he told me it wasn't. I asked him what he thought it was and he said it was part of the shrimp and then went back to the counter and proceeded to ignore me. He had someone else drop off the check and didn't even bother to ask if I wanted to speak with a manager. I also paid for my worm infested food! I would not recommend eating here. To top it all off, it smells like sewage.

Pad see ew with pork, medium spice level, dinner portion

Every time I'm craving pad see ew, I go to Mint Thai! Their pad see ew is deliciously sweet and savory. I usually get mine with pork, which is always nice and tender. The dinner portions are very generous. I almost always have leftovers to take home! The service is pretty quick, and I've never had to wait to be seated. I have heard it gets really busy during weekday lunch hours, so keep that in mind! The staff is kind and friendly, and the restaurant is clean with plenty of tables and seating. Definitely check out Mint Thai when you get the chance!

Chinese Broccoli Crispy Pork (Kanah Muu Krob)

This is the boy's preferred thai place. He's been getting the spicy fried rice. He used to like the crispy pork with veggies. It's usually not busy when we go. I think they can accommodate 90 guests. They do have a large table for 8 that is reserved for the American Express crowd. I think they toned down the spice level because a level 4 spicy dish isn't very spicy.

Pad Kee Mao with shrimp

This is my go to lunch spot whenever I'm working from home. I typically order for pick up through UberEats and they are very quick to prepare the orders. The few times I've sat down and eaten their the ladies are very nice and they have tons of space to sit. I usually stick to the same dishes but the Shrimp Pad Kee Mao and Crispy House Chicken have never steered me wrong. I would definitely recommend trying it if you haven't already.

Pad Gra Tiem -- little to no chicken

I strongly dislike doing bad reviews but Mint has pissed me off for the last time. Mint Thai Kitchen - 249 location does not provide enough protein in their dishes. I've had to call them on multiple occasions because the meat portion is just not worth paying for. So, tonight I ordered Mint through door dash (normally, I don't but I couldn't leave in time to pick up). Of course the chicken portion was LITTLE TO NONE so I called to speak with someone. I was told the manager was gone for the night & no one in charge is available. Now, i'm stuck with a half ass order & they have all my money. I won't go back ever again after tonight.

New thai place discovered for me! Really loved the ambiance and the soft music. The staff were so pleasant. They have a really extensive menu with clearly indicated gluten free options. Their spicy fried rice is really good. My friend had the Garlic Pepper Tofu which was also yummy. I look forward to trying more items on their menu.

Pad Kra Pao Thai Style

Don't expect a boujee high level thai restuarant if that's your expectations. This spot is low key with plenty of seating and quick service for a nice casual quick lunch or bite with others. Simple procedures: order up front at the counter, pay, sit, they bring your food, you eat it, and then you leave. There's a variety of thai dishes here. Since I'm usually here with people from our office, they always go with the pad thai or the pad see ewe, both are popular noodle dishes. The fried rice is another favorite as well. I've been meaning to try other dishes such as the yellow or green curry, tom yum soup, or the kanah muu krob pork dish. But I always go wtih the pad see ewe, pad kee mao, or pad kra pao. Something about those noodles/rice with veggies and meat and egg that keep me coming back. This is a staple amongst our office when we're in the mood for thai due to location, price, and convenience. I need to try other dishes here and venture my taste buds out.

From the moment I walked in the staff, and the ambience made me feel welcome, the Tom Yum Goong soup was truly the best I've had in years and by itself would be worth going back for the green curry was fragrant and spicy the Tom Ka Gai soup was creamy and flavorful, although a bit too sweet for my taste but all in all it was a great experience and I will definitely be back

Thai Green Tea (a must get)
Megan S.

Everything here is so good but the Pad Thai is out of this world, consistently good and don't sleep on the green Thai tea not a lot of spots offer it and it's well done here, perfect amount of sweetness. As someone who is Thai can say this spot is definitely authentic.

The atmosphere at Mint Thai Kitchen is top-notch. There are hardly any customers here, and the ambient atmosphere pairs well with the lofi Pokemon playlist they have on the speakers. This is a great place to just chill out after a busy day. I also like that each dish marked with an asterisk can have their spiciness levels changed on a 5-point scale from 1 (wimpy babies) to 5 (based gigachads). I had the level 4 Gang Mang (red curry) with pork. Oddly, the rice was served on the side on a separate plate. In mixing the curry and rice (as I always , I risked spilling over the curry due to the uneven shape of the bowl. Would prefer to be asked if I could have the rice already mixed in before sending the dish out to me].

Pad Thai
Salomi W.

The pad Thai was yummy, the rice was a little overdone, but everything taste good overall. The food took about ten minutes. Hubby had a hard time with how much pepper was in the food, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, practically ate all the pad Thai by myself. It's a bit disappointing that they had no summer rolls.

Red curry
Catherine C.

We had a good experience here overall. It was nice and empty since we came right after opening at 11. Our server was super sweet and the food and drinks were both fast. Prices are very reasonable. Drinks: Coffee was great, but tea was on the sweeter side and not as strong. Food - Pad Thai with chicken was super solid! Would recommend. Definitely dial down the spice level if you are sensitive to that. Tried beef with the red curry and it was a little on the chewier side; chicken might've been a better choice. The portions are just right.

Really good Thai food. Good flavor at a good price. This wants me to write a longer review so I'm fluffing it up a bit.

Can you still get the crispy chicken? I didn't see it anywhere on their menu.

I was there today and I believe I saw it on the lunch menu.

The got nice wall art too, depicting the popular dishes from the north so I had my expectation and hopes up. Service is ordinary, she speaks little English but can get by ordering, we order first at the counter the sit anywhere. Braised egg is 2 for $3.50, salty but expected since it's marinated. Came out steaming hot, and yolk was not overly cooked and dry, not bad. Starting with the Chinese hamburger I felt sad and know not to expect too much from the other dishes we ordered. First the meat look different than what others have posted before, and it was kinda dry and too salty to eat. There was no other spice, only the meat juice flavor. The bun they use was stale to eat. Traditional way of making this should be the flaky oily pancake, or at least make the buns softer to eat. The mutton stew was clear and very heartwarming to drink on a cold day. But the portion is super small for the price. The glass noodles were gone in literally two bites. I had none to share with my boyfriend. This dish come with the burger bun too that you can soak them in the soup so I guess this is the extra carb make up for the less noodles. Oil splash noodle is their specialty? It was good but didn't wowed me. Noodles are chewy and well cooked, came with lots of bean sprouts. The sauce is flavorful and actually not too oily which I enjoyed more. You can add the beef for an extra charge, it's the regular braised beef, was just ok. I find it funny that their all food arts on the wall look nothing like the actual way they serve it.

Look no further for authenticity, flavor, and complexity in Chinese cooking near the med center!…read more Though we opted for more "simple" dishes during this experience, you can judge a place by if they can do their simple dishes well. The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. This place is definitely a go to if I'm convincing a friend of Houston's great food scene! Rating: 4.5/5

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

I swear it's just one really long hand made noodle, so it's a bit hard to share, but it's a must-get. We also tried the Claypot noodle and it was good as well but a bit of an acquired taste. The restaurant is located inside Jusgo grocery store. The seating is quite limited so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties. And it's pretty mom and pop, so if that's your jam, go for it. Chairs are mismatched, drinking water is somewhat self-service in small cafeteria-style plastic cups, and tables are small. Like I said - mom and pop, and that's not a bad thing. It's just not exactly a place where you would have a nice business meeting. Service was ok - nothing to note. You pay at the cashier which is like 2 feet from where you ate. Yes, it's a small space.
