My husband and I both are new patients to the North Atlanta Primary Care/Southeast Medical Group…read more We had complete physical exams today with Dr. Tharani Sundararajan. We found Dr. Sundararajan to be thorough, highly knowledgeable and very caring. She took the time to talk and listen to us. She asked all the right questions and ordered the appropriate blood work and follow-up care. She was genuinely caring and explained everything clearly and made us feel well-cared for. The clinic was also well run despite a lot of patients. We were seen within about half an hour and every staff member was very nice, friendly and professional, from the check in to the medical assistant and phlebotomist. We are really happy to be part of this practice.

I had one of the worst experiences with this family practice. I woke up with a fever, body aches,…read moreand feeling absolutely miserable, so I called to ask about walk-ins. They told me they take walk-ins from 7:30-8:30 AM. I rushed to get ready, dragged myself out of bed despite feeling awful, and drove there. I arrived at 8:03 AM--only to be told that the walk-ins were "full" and they weren't accepting any more. Instead, they offered me an appointment in the afternoon. What is the point of advertising walk-in hours if you're going to cut them off after just a handful of patients? Walk-in should mean you can walk in and be seen during that posted time frame--especially if you arrive 30 minutes before the cutoff. Otherwise, don't call it walk-in. If you're poorly staffed or can't handle it, then shorten the walk-in hours or don't offer them at all. It is rude and unacceptable to make sick people drive there only to turn them away at the door. People go to walk-in because they need to be seen quickly and can't wait. Driving there sick, with a fever, only to be refused was frustrating, disorganized, and frankly the final straw. This isn't the first bad experience I've had here, but it keeps getting worse. The office is unorganized and inconsistent. If you're actually sick and hoping to be seen quickly, don't waste your time with this practice.

Zero stars. I've never seen such a mischaracterization of symptoms by a healthcare professional in…read moremy life. I brought my daughter in for what was either congestion due to RSV, or congestion due to bad seasonal allergies. The front desk person relayed what we said to the NP and what came back to us was the most absurd thing i've ever heard. Without doing any diagnostics or taking any kind of inventory on the state of my child who was there on their own volition, the NP took zero measures to evaluate a true need of care--where she instead focused on what the front desk person said and came back to us saying they didn't have the ability diagnose or treat my daughter and that we needed to elevate go for imaging at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. My daughter's congestion was nowhere near that level of sickness and my daughter did not have any of the characteristics that the NP relayed back to us via her characterization of symptoms--She would. not. listen, was argumentative, and basically turned us away. I've never seen anything like this. When we ultimately left, I came back completely blown away by the situation and asked for an explanation of WTF just happened and she still went on about imaging at CHOA vs accepting our appointment and doing due any dilligence. She ultimately asked me to check back in, in which, in a wild turn of events, the desk person left for lunch and the NP closed her door. When I knocked on her door she said she was magically on lunch too and would be available at 1. We had a 12:15 appointment setup online!!! Something is way off with this healthcare "professional" or they were motivated by other factors. We basically went next door to an urgent care, explained the same description of symptoms, and recieved what I would consider is a nonimal level of care and inquiry which lead to a z-pack script, advise to use some Flonase, and to continue cold medicine to alleviate symptoms. The lady from Kroger Little Clinic was argumentative and dead set on not administering care that was well within her diagnostic ability and prescribing power. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS. Oh, except for the prior time where she argued that my poison ivy rash which I've had over 20 times across my life....get this... didn't look like poison ivy. Will not ever go back. Do not go here seeking care.

Don't believe they are accepting new patients…read more As I'm new to the area, I called to make an initial appointment. Phone rang and rang when finally a voice mail picked up. I left a message explaining my situation and asked for a call back. Two hours later, I called back and finally got to speak to someone. When I said I left a message but have not received a call back and was wondering if the office was open since it was a Friday afternoon. She responded that the office is open but they have been very busy. (As one who deals with the public on a daily basis, I don't care that you're busy. We all are. It is not a reason and a very poor excuse at that. Just apologize and ask what can I do for you?). When making an appointment she said for new patients the first appointment would be about 3 to 4 weeks. I said that was fine. She proceeded to take my information and when I said I'd like something first thing in the morning since I would not be able to eat for the blood test. She said that if I wanted a physical, an appointment would not be available for two or three months! I have not had to have a new doctor in 20 years and I always assumed the first appointment was a physical. Am I wrong? What is the purpose of a "first" appointment WITHOUT it being a physical??? Are we just going to talk over coffee and get to know each other? Then maybe decide if this is a relationship worth pursuing?? All the while billing my insurance, (for what I ask)?? WTH? I'm sure the doctor is very good. Unfortunately, I'll never know.
