The sheetrock ceiling openings were cut very poorly and irregularly, and all of the removed drywall pieces were discarded. This has made the patching and repair work significantly more difficult and costly than necessary, see attached photo. A professional plumber would normally: Cut clean, standard-shaped openings (for example, rectangular sections such as approximately 1 ft × 2 ft), Minimize unnecessary damage to surrounding materials, and Keep the removed drywall pieces near the work area so they can be reused or referenced during patching. I raised these concerns with the plumber, but instead of correcting the issue, I was told that I would need to pay an additional fee to address the patching challenges caused by the original work. I do not believe it is reasonable for me to bear extra costs resulting from workmanship issues that could and should have been avoided with proper professional practices.

I cut some of the dry wall away to see what I had just hit, and sure enough, it was a pipe. I called the number on this listing and spoke with Ijaz. He was very professional over the phone and said he could come by in the afternoon and quoted a ballpark price, ~$500, over the phone. He ended up arriving a couple of hours late and explained he had an emergency call, and his clothes showed it. He said he'd want to get changed before working on my house to not get it dirty and asked if he could come by the next day. I appreciated that he actually drove over to tell me this instead of just canceling on me or no-showing. I asked if he could at least take a look, and he did so gladly. He confirmed it was a vent pipe and not a waste water drain. I was pretty relieved, and he said that it was a DIY job I could do myself by just using ABS glue. He walked me through how I could do the repair myself. As he left, I offered to pay him at least for the inspection and his advice, and he declined and said it was okay. I insisted and gave him a small amount of cash. Shortly after, he knocked on the door and said he had some glue in his van. He came in and completed the repair free of charge.
