The portions are generous--I brought home half my meal, and it tasted just as good the next day. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was that the restaurant was uncomfortably warm on the Friday evening we visited. In the Texas heat, the last thing you want is to be sweating through dinner. Our server Nacho was great! Everything else not so much. Our experience other than the waiter just kinda sucked. The temperature inside the restaurant wasn't very cool. Then they had a BUNCH of ceiling fans turned on blowing the semi warm air around and it just wasn't a pleasant atmosphere with all the air blowing around and making all the different food smells get mixed up while you're trying to enjoy your dish. But moving on to the most important thing in a restaurant.. the food .. We ordered the FILET OSCAR for $48 which was a 10oz Filet Mignon, Crab Cake, Hollandaise Sauce, Asparagus and Whipped Potatoes. The steak was very overcooked. The asparagus was also overcooked somehow. The crab cake was deep fried and so so so oily and dry at the same time while being drenched in whatever sauce it was covered in. The whipped potatoes were pretty good but at this point the entire dish was so bad that there was nothing to accompany the whipped potatoes. The server was very nice and the food came out fairly fast but unfortunately it just didn't taste good. Has anyone else ever seen a deepfried crabcake at an upscale restaurant? Or I guess any restaurant for that matter? It was just a very distasteful way to present a dish that should have taken more TLC to prepare rather than just to bread and throw in a fryer like that. Sad day for us as this was on our date night list of local places to try out. We did flag down the manager to give him some live feedback. Lakeside's premiere italian joint. Beautiful location and across from the gelato spot if you want a lighter dessert to accompany your meal. I believe they have handmade pasta but don't quote me on that. I like it, but tend to feel bloated and sluggish afterwards. Service is good and it's a nice dinner with family and friends. We've enjoyed two meals at this location. Both times we sat on the patio with friends. On our first visit, I had the gluten-free pizza, which was great. My friend had ordered the lemon chicken that was amazing. So, the second time we went I ordered it. I will get it every time. The cool thing about the pasta here is that they use 00 flour. It doesn't hurt my stomach. I was able to try my husband's gnocchi and others pasta without any ramifications on our first visit. So, the second time around I ordered some of the bread. I had a whole piece with no issues. I am not celiac, just borderline. FYI. This is a beautiful restaurant with outstanding food and great service. I wish I lived closer! read more

I had the shrimp risotto and it was delicious, but you'll also want to try their bread. It will surprise you in a good way. Everyone's food looked so good, and it was served hot, not lukewarm, which is one of my pet peeves. This is a gem of a find in Flowermound! We are very picky when it comes to Italian food and this definitely became our number one Italian spot in Dallas! We got the truffle , garlic honey bread and we were speechless! The Cesar salad was so fresh with freshly grated Parmesan cheese! The eggplant dish was the cherry on top! What an amazing find. We traveled from North Dallas to meet friends for dinner in their hometown. The evening could not have been more perfect. Please note, I rarely eat at Italian restaurants because frankly, I can usually do it better, but my girlfriend convinced me to give it a try. I am so very, very glad that I did. The food was exquisite and bursting with flavor. I tried all of these dishes and they were so incredibly flavorful. The portions were large and gave all of us lunch for the next day. The house Cesar was amazing, as well as the crème brûlée. Natalie was the best server that I have had in years! She gave us just the right amount of attention, kept the wine and tea glasses filled, her timing was great. We didn't feel rushed and our food came out the way it is supposed to, in courses. I can't really say much about the food except the eggplant parm since it's the only food I had. But it was absolutely delicious and I see why it's a standout! Eggplant was crisped just right and I think the balsamic glaze helped add an "oomph" to this dish that made it special. I also felt like the portion was great while not being too filling (though my experience may have been different had our table gotten bread). The servers were nice and helped us accommodate for our large party. If the weather's great, I'd recommend the patio for seating.
