Went for drinks with my friends Friday after work and this was the place my friend chose! The place is open seating. It's a very cute and smaller restaurant in the downtown Lewisville area. I really liked the vibes in here. Could definitely see why it was a popular place in the area. I ordered the Riesling wine and it was really good. I liked that it wasn't like overly sweet but also not very bitter. You can also get samples of wine here before choosing the one you want. I sat for about 15 mins without someone coming so I walked in and flagged down the bartender to get a menu and let him know I was on the patio. He apologized profusely and promised to come out. The staff was informed that there would be a party of 12 in total when the first of our group arrived. The menu offers light options for lunch and dinner, as well as steak fare for dinner. Be sure to make reservations for weekends, it tends to fill up (it's rather small, so the seats are usually reserved). Downtown Lewiville is a little gem in the making. Not as large or busy as downtown Grapevine but has a similar charm and feel. I they continue to invest in the area it could be great. I have been wanting to stop in this place for sometime but rarely in the area. After dinner at another place nearby we walked over to check it out. It was Friday about 8:30pm and the place only had 3 other couples. I guess we missed the rush so it was nice that we were able to get a seat at the bar. It is also sad on a Friday night that most of the restaurants were closing or about to close. There is a good selection of wine to order by the glass or bottle. They have a lunch and dinner menu but did not try ( save for another day) and a wine club. Nice atmosphere with some couches, front patio seating and a covered/heated patio in the back. My wife and I had been in the Lewisville area for most of the day helping with speech contests. We were "dead" and wanted somewhere quiet to sit and relax. I started up my trusty Yelp app and up pops "Old Town Wine House." It sounded like the perfect place for us before we head home to Ft. Worth. It's located in the older part of the City of Lewisville and housed in a period building. Walking in, there is so much old world charm, especially with the exposed brick walls. The tables are interesting. The tops are vintage doors that have been cut in half and sealed. You've got to be careful with your wine glasses with all the indentions that a door has. Quiet music is playing in the background. At the bar, you can do a wine tasting for $12. We ordered a couple of glasses of the house wines, crab cakes, and bruschetta. They have a limited menu which is perfect for the venue. The crab cakes were some of the best I've ever tasted. My wife loved the bruschetta. My girlfriends and I love this place! The food is great. The brussel sprout salad and the flat breads are a few of my favorites. The have a good selection of wines. We are members of their wine club. It was my first visit to old town Lewisville and it was really impressive. You can see the effort going into the downtown gathering places including a grassy auditorium area. I was impressed and can only hope they open more restaurants and the residents come out and support these local shops. On this Friday evening, we moved on from the Prairie House to the Old Town Wine House. They were booked up so we asked for a couple of glasses of wine and sat out front and enjoyed the setting sun and the people watching. I quickly chose the Four Virtues Cab but it was way to sweet for us. The server, Natalie, was very busy but she took time to take care of us out on the sidewalk. When she checked in, she insisted on changing out the wine for us. She brought us a taste of the Syrah and that was not my taste at all - a very strong tobacco finish. We settled on the Sean Minor Pinot Noir and it was delicious. My only recommendation would be to get some Texas vineyards on the list. The place was packed. The hostess/waiter asked if we had a reservation. We did not because we didn't find a way to make one online. She said give her a few minutes to see if she could fit us in. We got a small table near the back. The wine list is nice and large without being overwhelming. There is a variety of food selections. We enjoyed our wine and appetizers. Went to the Old Town Lewisville concert on Tuesday and ordered a Large Cheese Board 'to go' based on the Wine House's $28 Large Cheese Board listing on their website. I was charged $30+2 Taxes. When I questioned the charge, the waitress said she doesn't control the website. When I went to pick it up (it was to-go), I showed the other waitress the website. She said that the difference is the owners' problem to fix. In my opinion, the cheese board was only about $10 worth of food! I won't be going back and suggest that folks find a Charcuterie board elsewhere. read more

I really love this place. I love that it is in old town Lewisville. I love the look and feel of the place. I love that it's not pretentious even though it could be. I love that the staff is friendly and that it has a true old-town feel. And I would give it four stars, but I really think the menu selections could be widened. I've only been three times. We would go way more often if they had a Little more to offer... I am perfectly fine with a cheeseboard for my meal typically, but the limit of options for the cheeseboard well... It's limited. I've been to other small, family-owned wine bars, and my absolute favorite is in McKinney, which is farther than I typically want to drive, but they bring out a sheet of paper and you can choose nuts, fruits, cheeses, and meats. I personally don't eat pork, and that place offered chicken and turkey as some of the meats. It was amazing. I think Oldtown Winehouse could benefit from something like that. I would want to give it 10 stars even though that's not an option. I really do love this place, and I would go way more often if they had more food options, Including an updated cheeseboard list. My husband definitely needs more than a cheeseboard for a meal, and he might be the one who keeps us from going because he needs big food Ha ha ha. Went back recently - not as great. Menu changed - and not really unique. They were recommending their hamburger to everyone. I'd rather have a beer if I was getting a burger. Wow, wow, wow!! What a fun spot in the darling "Old Town" area in Lewisville. The service here is next level good. They really take great pride in helping you have the best experience, from their extensive wine knowledge to their menu recommendations (food was great too - especially the salmon and the steak, and please get a delicious cheese board), it was an exceptional evening.
