My dental hygienist Gloria has the hands of an angel and the most delicate touch ever. My anxiety the first visit could be felt a mile away. I dare say I felt almost relaxed my most recent visit. I had a crown done with my last dentist (and a root canal with her referred endodontist). This led to months upon months of pain far worse than the pain I had before the root canal. I had to go to a different local dentist to fix the problem, but it took months to get an appointment. Expectedly last month I had dread when I was told I needed another crown. I wasn't in pain, but my previous dentist had done such a deep filling that I knew the tooth wasn't going to last forever. They advised a crown before the tooth cracks unexpectedly. I left an after-hours voicemail fully expecting to hear back after the new year, but to my surprise, Dr. Birns called me 2 days later on a Sunday afternoon. She had just returned from vacation, was checking messages, and managed to fit me in that following Monday. I couldn't believe my luck and jumped on the appointment immediately. Her office staff was wonderful, and Dr. Birns is absolutely superb. She smoothed the tooth, placed a temporary crown, and sent me on my way.
