When you walk in, you'll be floored by the decor. A ceiling covered in twinkle lights? A big Santa, narwhal and etch-a-sketches everywhere? Cookies shoved in a VCR player? Christmas trees and holiday details galore?? I didn't want to leave. This huge pop-up holiday tent is planted in front of The Alexander Hotel. There are about 90 of these pop-up locations around the USA and Indy was lucky enough to be chosen. It's free to enter, then you can purchase any holiday-themed cocktails or snacks you'd like. Cocktails: I got a "Snowball Old Fashioned." It was a perfect ball of ice with the beverage around it. So cute. There's also a drink that comes with a Christmas koala, one that has gingerbread in it, one that has eggnog.... the options are so unique and fun. PS: they're by Plat99 (so you know they're good). Snacks: the puppy chow is incredible (the chef came over and told us that he adds special ingredients to it.. I want to say that one of them was caramel?). There is also a shrimp cocktail, incredible meatballs, a Blondie cookie, and more. Once you visit, you'll want to tell all of your friends so they can experience this magical place as well. Happy holidays!!

I was in Indy for work and was surprised to see a Miracle on South Pop-Up right outside of my hotel (The Alexander). I'm from Columbus, Ohio and we have this same pop-up but I haven't made a trip yet, so I thought I'd check it out while I was here. This pop up is outside in a tent. While it is heated, be warned. The moment I took my first step inside I was smacked in the face with a really strong smell of gas. It definitely wasn't pleasant, and it lingered throughout my entire visit. Despite that, my experience was super fun! The entire place is decked out in creative Christmas décor. There's Elf wall paper (where did you get that?!), a twerking Santa, an entire ceiling of Christmas lights, fun photo back drops, etc. It's very photogenic and perfect for sharing epic pictures on social. The cocktail menu was very unique and had a good variety. My friend got the Jingle Balls Nog and said it was fabulous! It came in an adorable little holiday mug with nutmeg grated over top. I ordered the Koala la la la - la la la la. This cocktail consisted of gin, pine, dry vermouth, lime, eucalyptus syrup (very neat), and orange bitters. I love herbs in cocktails and I've never seen eucalyptus in a drink, so I just had to try it. It came out with a little koala gripping the stem of the glass, super cute. I was really surprised at how good it was and would definitely order it again. The drinks were $11-12 which was a little steep but worth it when it came to the overall experience. It's only here for a limited time and will sure to leave you in the holiday spirit. If the placed smelled like Christmas cookies as opposed to rotten eggs/gas then they would surely earn that extra star. I do recommend stopping in for a fun experience!

Very pretty abs fun decor. Nice play options with the etch a sketches, the photo opps and so on. The drinks are great... BUT who can afford it? I paid over $15 for one very small albeit strong drink... What I hated was being forced to pay 18% gratuity for my drink, even so I had to go order and pay for it at the register. Then pay %18 for somebody to walk the drink 10 feet to my table... really?? That's not cool at all.

Festive atmosphere and unique cocktails. They really have outdone themselves with this being a pop-up bar. The decorations and lighting really put you in the holiday mood. It's especially nice to visit at night, when you can enjoy the lights in all their glory. There are also nice photo opportunities with the elaborate decorations. I was surprised by the available selection of cocktails. They are mostly holiday-themed but with various twists. It takes a minute to figure out what all goes into each drink. There is a small selection of beer and wine as well. If you have a case of the munchies, there are small plates and appetizers for purchase. This being located in an outdoor tent, it felt more cozy than I expected once I stepped inside. It is still advised to keep a coat or ugly sweater on during the visit. There is a mix of seating and standing areas to accommodate groups of different sizes. Miracle on South Street is a fun little setup and is worth a visit during the holiday season.

Stopped by the Miracle pop-up again this year and had a great time! Wanted to update my review to mention it's been moved inside of The Alexander hotel this year instead of being outside in a tent. They've got 10 festive drinks and some shots also. There are classic Christmas story books and even a photo booth set up now. Such a fun tradition, and a great place to stop in for a drink after seeing the Circle of Lights tree or Christmas shopping!

There can be miracles, when you believe... That's kinda the feeling you get when you pop into the Miracle on South Pop-Up in the south east side of the Alexander (sort of next to Yolk, Across from the YMCA). It's inside this year which is wonderful and cozy and super helpful for the staff. Chef Eli and the rest of the crew of the Alexander have put a lot of thought and work into this years production. It really is a production - as they have to purchase the rights to use the theme. When you walk in you'll be greeted by friendly staff. The warm glow from the ceiling hung tinsel really sets the mood. It's festive and cozy with several seating areas. It's cafe style ordering - so head to the black rope and check out the drink menu above, or printed on papers. You can catch a glimpse of a fun photo wall made by old pictures of the staffs past Christmas's from their younger days. I tried several drinks and there were definitely favorites amongst our group! The Christmapolitian comes in a cute little martini glass, with vodka, elder flower, vermouth, house-made cranberry sauce, and topped with rosemary and an absinthe mist. This one was strong and sweet, just how I like them. Next we tried the Old Fashioned Snowball, caramelized pecan bourbon, spiced molasses syrup, wormwood bitters, orange essence, solid - (I'm guessing, because my partner got 2!) We also loved the Run Run Rudolph, with Prosecco, gin, mulled wine puree, lemon, and cane syrup it was bubbly and festive, like a grown up koolaid! *These three we enjoyed and felt they were good for their cost. We also got the Jingle Balls Nog, The SanTaRex, and the Yippie Ki Yay... although tasty we felt these were too small quantity for the price being charged. The Jingle Balls served in an espresso cup, the SanTaRex was difficult to drink but bonus points for the cute cup, and the Yippie Ki Yay was like crashing into a iceberg. So for $15 we weren't super happy with these options. All the drinks are $15.25... (OK, moment for the gasp) However this does include tax and gratuity... so would I normally pay $15 for a Cocktail... heck no; however... I would pay $11-$12 for one. MATH - $12.00 + 7% Sales Tax =$12.84 + 15% Tip = $14.80... so when you think about the fact that tax and gratuity is included... $15 not that bad. (Also keep in mind, they have to pay for the rights, like a play production - I pay $16 dollars for beer at Bankers or the Colts games, just a little perspective). The Nosh - all the food was yummy and a great deal. The Holiday Cheese ball was a big hit (we got 2, don't judge me). Yummy fresh cheese covered with nuts and crackers hit the spot and at $6 - sold. We also got the meatballs and they were legit ginormous! (check out my Highlight on @twainindy where we cheers the meatball - it's almost as big as one of the cocktails!) I was also a huge fan of the Puppy Chow. Now this isn't no Muddy Buddy gas station snacks. They are all prepared by Chef Eli Laidlaw from Platt 99 and the Alexander kitchen, so great quality. Personal touches like the paper link garland on the Christmas tree, and personalized stockings are very sweet. There's also tons of games and holiday books. However this is 21+ only, so perfect for date night. The drinks are pouring and the puppy chow is flowing so head down to the Alexander Hotel for Miracle on South and pull up a cozy seat and ugly pillow at "Grandma's House". @TwainIndy

If you love the Christmas season, this is a place for you. It's like someone threw up Christmas in here, but in a good way. I didn't know about this hidden gem until I saw the check ins of some fellow Yelpers. A pop up bar in Indy? I knew I had to come in. It's a seat yourself sort of establishment, so while you won't have to wait for a seat, you do want to be strategic with your arrival to make sure you don't have to awkwardly crowd around tables that are occupied. They also have some couches on the side. While I mentioned the Christmas theme, more specifically it's littered with references to the movie Elf. There are Jack in the Boxes, Etch a Sketches, The Code of Elves, and even a Throne of Lies! All around the place are Easter eggs about the movie. They have a nice set of wintery cocktails to choose from, my one complaint being that with 18% gratuity added to every purchase, these drinks were $15 each. That's pretty far above the average cost of a drink in Indy. I also had the chowder which was very very good. The other highlight was that I happened to go on their last karaoke night! Christmas songs, other classics, you name it. This is definitely a feature they should keep for next year.

Miracle on South popped up next to the Alexander in 2018. I didn't attend last year, but did learn that they took suggestions into consideration for the 2019 season, which is always great to hear. Major changes you'll notice from 2018-2019: - it's moved inside - the theme changed to a Grandma's House theme - the drink prices increased (to an astonishing $15 a drink.... this ain't NYC) - there is a fun photo booth that makes great cheeky photos for the holiday season. I had no idea what to expect going in as I had never done any research beforehand. Essentially, it's a pop-up bar with corny holiday decor. You can purchase expensive drinks, have some locally made snacks, get a picture in their photo booth (BYOphone/camera). For next year, I hope they take into consideration the prices of the drinks as well as maybe add some other fun activities to do. I also see this being a perfect place for nearby businesses to host their holiday parties at. Give employees a prepaid drink ticket or two and the holiday decor is already set up. As I discussed with a friend after attending, it's not a place that makes you want to go multiple times during the holiday season - it's just a one-and-done kind of set up. This is, of course, my personal opinion, so please go and check it out for yourself!

    Garland everywhere.

I'm so sad this place is vastly different from last year. First, they didn't have a twerking Santa anymore and that really made me sad. Second, they moved from a tent which had room for more people into the tiny art gallery off to the side of the Alexander. Third, they raised their drinks by $4. Last year my cocktail was $12 and this year they wanted $15.75. Like come on, we aren't New York City, and last year I thought the drink didn't taste the best. This year I passed on getting one because I don't think there was a reason to raise the prices so significantly. Like did you get to keep the glass?! I thought last years set up was way better and their decor seemed way more interesting. This year seemed like garland threw up everywhere and some Christmas signs were placed on a wall. It took us like five minutes to walk around and have our Christmas pop up bar dreams squashed. It was just a huge disappointment compared to last year. CHEERS!

I love anything holiday and boy is this place festive! It was my first time coming here and I loved all the decor and holiday drinks. However, I did NOT expect drinks to be THAT expensive! I knew they'd be overpriced but $15.75 is a little much for a tiny drink. Aside from that, I loved everything. There was karaoke and a photo booth with props and backdrop. It is a tiny space in the hotel but perfect for something temporary like this. It was pretty busy when we came but we managed to find a spot on the couch. Overall, loved the theme and idea of a holiday pop-up.

Super fun atmosphere! To the theme, game boards and the names of the cocktails. The meet balls were delicious, they did get a little spicy with the more you ate. Drinks were tasty and boozy! There is a spot in the back to do a little photo shoot! The manager was super nice and helped with drink choices!

When we first walked in on a Saturday afternoon (they open at 5 on weekdays and noon on weekends), we loved this place! It is filled with Christmas lights and decor, lots of fun things to look at, and even the cocktail list looks like a Christmas card. The space is a wrapped tent with warm air blown in from the west end. Inside, there are stand only tables, seated 4 tops, and a comfy lounge area in the center. As you enter, the hostess gives you a menu of the cocktails and another sheet with beer, wine, and snacks. Note that when you are ready, you go to the counter and should count on an 18% gratuity that will automatically be added to the prices listed as you order. Once you've paid, they give you a number so that they can deliver your items when they are ready. While we waited, we looked around at the variety of Christmas items. There is a "Throne of Lies" for Santa so you can tell him you've been good, though Santa wasn't there when we stopped by. The cocktails are all listed at $12 and have Christmas themed titles. I ordered a hot cocktail called the "Bad Santa". My wife ordered a Snickerdoodle Blondie that wasn't huge, but rich, so it was easily shareable. The one negative was that they don't have any hot chocolate based cocktails on the menu, though I will give them credit for creating one back at their Plat 99 base bar and running it over. Although it was a nice try, it didn't really work since the hot chocolate tasted like instant and just didn't work well with the booze. Nice effort, but if they do this again next year, I hope that their mixologists will work on something ahead of time so that it can be offered on the menu. Even with that, we still had a fun time. My advice is if you are planning on stopping by, go early. They do limit the number of people admitted at one time, so unless you want to risk being left outside in the cold waiting for someone to leave, go early and grab a spot! It's unlike anything else I've been to around town! Review #1836

This place is a Christmas lovers dream come true!! From the moment you walk in the door you will be mesmerized by lights and Christmas spirit. There are cute Elf themed items, toys, even a twerking Santa! There is food and snacks. For drinks you will get ID checked at the door, and then go up to the register to order. They will bring you drinks and food out to you. The drinks are fun and delicious. They are a little expensive because they automagically add in their own gratuity, but it's work it to try and drink and experience this amazing place. I tried the old fashioned drink. It was $12 plus gratuity so ended up being around $15-$16. There was a tiny sample of puppy chow though which was worth it!
