I went in super hungry and I remembered they won a hamburger hop event so I was like let's go try this burger!! I do not have any regrets about it. It was worth it and I wish I tried it sooner. The burger is called the Mirella burger. Trust me if you dig burgers this one is on your list to hit up! The only thing I do is ask for the sauce on the side so I can dip the burger in it because it did get a little messy. The waitress and all the staff are so nice and welcoming and easy to talk to. The decor was not what I expected because it looked like a regular bar from the outside, but the inside they put up decorations and places were immediate really cute so if you do do brunch there or want a cute little dinner, then they have some spots that would fit that. This is my third occasion to visit this restaurant. They have a killer enclosed patio on the back. Have visit for Yelp event, private 1st birthday party and got weekend cocktails. On previous engagements I was able to try lots of different food selections and no complaints. On my last occasion, we just tried the Cheeseburger Eggrolls and some cider. The appetizer was good but hard to justify $15 for (2) eggrolls split in half. They were tasty though. Atmosphere here is decent. Donna got a build your own pasta with linguini and spicy arabiata sauce and damn, it was spicy! But very good, even without a protein. The heat just kept coming. I got pesto gnocchi. No atmosphere here, I came here on a Saturday at 6pm, the first room was empty and playing very loud top 100 style music. In the back room was 1 other group with a dog, and you could smell the dog for sure. Although I love dogs I was surprised they allowed him (may have been a service animal without any vest). Two other groups arrived after us, and no one after that. It was quiet, and the service was fine. The menu is all over the place, flatbreads, elotes, pasta, burgers. I got the burger because it won an award (labeled on the menu) in 2020. It was good, I wanted a little more heat but it was good. When I asked for hot sauce they brought chilula. My partner got the chicken dinner, comes with Mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was good. My child got fries but they have a full kids menu as well as kids cup. Definitely kid friendly. read more

We love coming here for Illini sports! This was a great find during this last Final Four basketball season. The food and drinks are pretty average, but the service is superb. The menu has a shockingly wide variety of food -- serving elote, to oysters, to Philly cheesesteaks, and to peri peri chicken. There's something for everyone. read more

I've been to this location when it was a different restaurant, and I have to say Mirella's facelift to the place is A+! It looks fantastic and light on the inside now, and the back patio is just as beautiful (and warm in the winter! Such a bonus!). My bestie and I attended for restaurant week and they charged $30 TOTAL for 2 people- a steal! You share a first course, then each get your own entree and dessert. The potato casserole was top notch. I wanted 5 scoops instead of 1! It wasn't the best/most creative food ever, but well worth $15 for the amount of food! Head of house was sweet, and she held down the fort for our server while he got ready, which was impressive. They didn't rush us out, and the place actually got pretty full. We came here to during our visit to Chicago to watch the Illini game. When researching where to watch the game, this came up as a hub. The space was nice and big, it was welcoming but it was somewhat empty. There was another group but I really wanted to feel some energy. We sat at the bar and ordered some food and drinks. The food was delicious, there was a good assortment on the menu. The staff was friendly. Don't know if they opened recently but wish they could get a good crowd going. read more

5/5 restaurant!!!! And not just because my name is the restaurant ;) The food here is actually spectacular. They have a variety of food and an extensive menu. I highly recommend the angry chef egg rolls, Philly Benedict, and bruschetta. There's still soooo much I still want to try, specifically on the dinner menu. The service here is another 5/5 stars. They are so welcoming, hospitable, and kind. The place itself is way bigger on the inside than it seems, plus they have a back space that's large with a semi retractable roof. The walls are windows so it feels like you're outside when you're not! They also have a front patio if you actually want to sit outside. 08/23/24 - I finally made it back for their all you can eat AYCE fish fry on Friday for $18. I was warmly greeted by a beautiful young lady who I later learned her name is Taylor I had previously come here for a Yelp Elite Event a few weeks ago. I heard about the AYCE fish fry on Fridays. Since I came by myself I grabbed a seat @ the bar. I ordered the fish. This came out w/3 pieces of fish w/a Mayo/Sriracha sauce that was a perfect compliment for the fish. This also came w/a dish of coleslaw w/a tangy bite that was very good & an ear of corn slathered w/butter. The food was very good but what made the meal was the conversation I had w/Taylor. Came here for Sunday brunch and loved it! Our server was great and so polite. She checked on us just the right amount and our meal was paced perfectly. Our waters were never empty and she made sure to ask if we wanted another cocktail when we got down to our last few sips. To drink, I had an aperol spritz which was perfect on such a beautiful day. For my meal, I had the avocado toast with poached eggs and a side of sausage. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the avocado spread was flavorful, and the cheesy potatoes were beyond amazing. The quality and delicious flavors at such a reasonable price point will keep me coming back time and time again. Another thing that makes this place great is the large patio space. They have a massive greenhouse style porch that is enclosed in glass in the winter and open air in the summer. There's also some tables out front (I know they are building a front patio soon!). Recently saw this new restaurant from a Yelp event and wanted to try it out. So glad to have seen this because it brought me to this wonderful new restaurant in my area! Everything was incredibly flavorful! The lobster Mac and cheese had so much lobster and may be the best lobster Mac I've ever had. Paired well with light salad and had to try the side Mexican corn and so happy I did! They have a beautiful back patio with several televisions so was able to also see the opening Olympics ceremony while dining here which was a nice surprise. Service is good despite other reviews. They are very kind and thoughtful. Yes it does provide a longer dining experience but you dont want to hurry through either in this nice atmosphere. Definitely memorable in how kind the servers were! Gotta say we really wanted to like this place. They recently added in a beautiful patio with amazing greenery. We did get a nice patio seat and just wanted to order some small apps with drinks. The service was friendly but unbelievably slow. It was slow to the point we wanted a second drink but ended up canceling it before it came out because it was taking so long between the times we'd see the server. I ended up going to the hostess to close the tab because we had been waiting 20 min just to try to close and leave. I overheard 3 other parties with similar issues. The food: I would almost come back for the elote which was fantastic, lightly charred with tasty toppings. The fries were crispy. The Brussels needed much less sauce they weee soggy and personally over sweet but still edible. Try at your own risk and maybe pick a time when they aren't busy to get quicker service. read more

Mirella's Tavern opened up their doors for a neighborhood event last week and served up a wonderful free buffet. The service was amazing - from the hostess, to our waitress, the bussers, the chefs, bartenders and the owner. We felt welcome and appreciated. This buffet had chicken wings, sliders, Mac and cheese egg rolls (yum), charcuterie, kale caesar salad, broccoli, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, and more. All drinks were balanced, and great value. That said, the service often feels stretched thin due to what seems like understaffing. While we'll likely continue visiting because it's so close and the food is great, we'd love to see an improvement in the service experience.
