I am shocked at the prices some people have been saying this salon is charging them. I've actually found this salon to be one of the most affordable ones I've gone to in Austin- my last visit was $200 for cut and color and I've paid close to $300 for both before. I wanted a change and this is now my second time coming here and so glad I found this salon! The vibe is so relaxing, the staff is super nice, you can tell that it is good quality dye they use too because my hair didn't turn as brassy as it did at other salons I've used. My only complaint is I wish there was slightly more parking it can be an issue at times but there's always street parking! TL;DR - Mirror Mirror on the wall, the customer experience is the worst of them all. I tried Mirror Mirror for the first time in December after my stylist of many years decided to move out of state. Unfortunately, they rescheduled last-minute (when I was on my way to the appointment, in fact) due to a computer glitch. Though frustrated (this was right before New Year's), I was OK with rescheduling because I was excited to try the salon after seeing their work on Instagram for years. When my appointment finally came, I saw Kimberley. She did an incredible job with my cut and balayage, and I still love it even months later. She is by far the best part of this entire experience, and if you do decide to go here, I highly recommend working with her. She is incredibly talented and much more reasonably priced than some of the other stylists. Given my experience with Kimberley, I decided to book a second appointment with her this month. Turns out, she was on maternity leave so I booked an appointment with a different stylist. My appointment was scheduled for a Saturday at least three weeks in the future. The Wednesday before my appointment, the salon called to request that I push my appointment back 30 minutes. Totally fine. But then, a day later (today), they called to cancel the appointment because the stylist would no longer be in town. EVEN THOUGH I HAD BOOKED THIS APPOINTMENT WEEKS BEFORE. To make matters worse, they didn't have availability to reschedule for another several weeks. After being cancelled on two separate occasions (and the only two times I ever booked at this salon, mind you), I have decided that the frustrations of trying to schedule with Mirror Mirror are absolutely not worth the quality of work. For the amount that they expect you to pay for their services, I would have expected a higher caliber of service. read more

I never write bad reviews because as a business owner myself I know that any place can make mistakes, we are human. Unfortunately, I have given this salon 3 chances and have had nothing but terrible experiences. I first booked an appointment and it was cancelled and had no other option but to take a new stylist. I arrive and they didn't have me down for a full head of highlights and could only do half. I hesitantly agreed as it was Christmas and I couldn't get into any other salon last minute. It didn't turn out well. The blonde was off, the price was steep ( which I don't mind at all) but not for a bad experience. I then book with another stylist who came recommended and booked months in advance for my birthday to get my hair done and they cancelled on me while I was on my way at 11:13am for my appointment at 11:30am. I have to book my appointments so far in advance to arrange my work schedule. I wrote to the owner to give them a chance to make it up to me but received no response. I've read other reviews of people having very similar experiences I would beware. Customer service is terrible. I cannot speak for the stylists except a junior stylist I went to. read more

I'm so happy I found Carah! I was referred to Mirror Mirror by a friend. I have lived in Austin for 3.5 years now and still didn't have a hairstylist I liked. All I needed was a haircut, so it was easy to make an appointment because they won't do ant color or highlight appointments without seeing you first. There was a last second cancellation so I was able to get into Carah for a trim before my vacation. She did an amazing job, and listened to what I wanted. I've been to mirror mirror salon two times and saw two different stylists. Unfortunately I can't say I had a great experience with either stylist. Both times I felt very rushed and this past time she didn't even style my hair after blow drying. I paid for a mini highlight the first time and my hair had blotchy highlights. The second experience my hair looked no different after paying for a full highlight. I don't believe I will be returning after trying this salon two times. I am disappointed being new to the area and needing to find a new place to get my hair done :( read more

About 6 months ago I started looking for a new stylist. I wasn't unhappy with my last one, because she is amazing (check out my older reviews). I just felt like I needed a change. I went to a few different salons that didn't work out and I even went to a stylist here at Mirror Mirror, but she didn't work out either. Then the front desk randomly set me up with Johna Simon, and like a successful first date we hit it off. I was booked for a bang trim but she brought up some coloring in my hair that just didn't look right. So she squeezed me in, and gave me a toner. The after-look showed me how bad I needed it and how bad my hair color was looking! Since then I have been seeing her and looking forward to it. We have a hair plan and a color plan going - I am in this for the long haul. She is also so fun to talk to and gives good head massages!!
