Walked by the day before and the restaurant was packed and the food looked delicious. Coming back from Monza after a long day at the race we decided to eat here. We were seated quickly despite being super busy and not having a reservation. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and bolognese. Both were delicious. The meatballs melt in your mouth--we ordered a side of those after we finished our meal. Service is fast and friendly and the restaurant has a great charm to it. Very touristy vibed restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. There was a lot of outdoor seating that looked romantic. In the outdoor seating, beware of pickpocketers and beggars. I ended up getting a saffron risotto. I really liked the bright coloring in this risotto. The risotto was definitely very hearty. I even liked the bread that came with the dish. My mother and I were staying at the hotel just around the corner and we wanted something nearby for our late night dinner. The Osteria Italiana fit the bill nicely and we found ourselves sitting al fresco, enjoying spaghetti under the Italian moon in no time. Service is efficient but attentive. Two different servers noticed that we did not finish all our food and asked if everything was ok. It was fine-the food was really good, just more than we could eat. They packaged it to go, but I think they were concerned that we were unhappy. The spaghetti that I ate was delicious-the sauce was flavorful and had perfect little bits of meat in it. My mom reported that her lasagna was also very good. I only wish we could have eaten it all so the staff weren't offended. read more

The food and service are quite good. While it isn't loud, the volume of the space can make a quiet conversation challenging. We dined here multiple nights in 2018 and 2025. We walked into this restaurant at the recommendation of others and saw that it looked to be quite full. It seemed pretty lively and the decor is quite nice. There is an upstairs, but I think they had barred it off for the night. The ribeye steak was disappointingly bland and oddly watery. However, the redeeming factor was the delightfully crispy fries that accompanied it. The risotto was not super popular either and seemed to be slightly undercooked. On a positive note, the pizza turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was one with avocado and some meats (none of which I had seen on a pizza option before so definitely a cool experience). The seafood soup initially puzzled us with its as it seemed like just a bowl of seafood with no soup, but once discovered, it was for sure one of the most flavorful dishes on our table. Regrettably, the salmon failed to impress, proving to be both bland and dry. It was honestly to the point where you could probably make it better and cheaper at home. Finally service was kind of a mixed bag. The owner/one of the managers(?) seemed really excited and lively with customers. However, our server seemed to be kind of annoyed the whole time. read more

We arrived in Milan quite late...having only a couple of hours of sleep before heading to Venice. This restaurant was really just across the street from our Hotel and had decent Feedback. It was still quite warm (with a jacket), so we took a seat outside. The menu was quite big. Chose some seafood spaghetti and spaghetti carbonara. A small bottle (50cl) of white wine with. Service was friendly and the atmosphere very homely and relaxed. Prices - for Milan - were fair. We've been to Italy many time and travelled up and down the country and countryside. So we wondered how this food will hold up. Turns out that the Seafood Spaghetti were a bit disappointing. Lacked of flavours and were probably (at least partly) frozen products. The Carbonara on the other hand was really very good. Thick Spaghett, cooked to perfection (al dente), nice heavy sauce and good bacon. Looked good...tasted good. The wine was decent as well. So, one hit...one miss. But all in all we really had a good time and for all that it gets four stars. read more

This was our absolute favorite dinner spot while in Milan! A friend who was in our group said she was hoping to have 'life changing pasta' while we were in town. We ate dinner there 3-4 times and it's safe to say the ravioli there 'changed my life'. It was so delicious. Meals I also tried: Pasta Carbonara and the Quattro Formaggio Pizza. (Such a unique add having blue cheese as one of the four cheeses! Also delicious.)My husband and daughter both ordered the ribeye and fries multiple times, so I can confirm they were big fans of it too. The restaurant was very close to our hotel (actually our hotel recommended it to us which is how we originally tried it) and the staff would always wave to us when we walked by. My one suggestion, the focaccia bread is amazing, but seems to only be available on the table when you eat inside. It's the perfect little pre-dinner 'taste'. Highly suggest sitting inside if you would like to sample it. The desserts looked incredible, I wish there was a time I could try them but I was always too full by the time we were finished with our meal. read more

Fantastic spot down the street from our hotel. Service was excellent. We both started with salads and then split a pizza. The server was quick to tell me that the pizza I ordered was enclosed but I could opt for an open pizza. I wanted the open version. I told him we were sharing, but I was still surprised when he brought it out on two separate places, already split. What a guy! I ordered a Coke Zero, which is not refillable. They bring you a can and a glass. The tables are squashed next to each other on the street for outdoor dining and the waiter alerted me to keep my phone off the table. He said people will run by and steal it! I was thankful for his concern. We chatted w the couple next to us, a polite pie from Germany. We really enjoyed having dinner next to them. Skip this overpriced tourist trap and go to the nice cafe at the end of the block on the traffic circle. I think the worst for me was undercooked meatballs. Yes, the sauce was good but I don't eat raw hamburger. The risotto was was not fully cooked with tough rice besides lacking flavor. I also had a half bottle of red wine which turned out to be a close relative of 2 Buck Chuck. My companion's gluten free meal consisted of misidentified risotto and mediocre chicken breast. The positive is that they honored the gluten free needs and instead of free cookies at the end, the brought us Lemonchello shots. Osteria Italiana looked good, had other customers and was close to our hotel - all of the things that matter after traveling 20 hours and arriving in the pouring rain. The service and our meal was fantastic. We returned for lunch and had a second great experience. For dinner, we had: Calabrese: Green Salad, Red Onion, Olives, 'Nduja, Bread Croutons, Tomato, Pecorino Cheese; Eggplant Parmigiana; Dell'Oste: Mixed salad, Cherry Tomatoes, Oranges, Olives and Cod Fish; Slice of Sword Fish in the Sicilian Way (Tomatoes, Olives and Capers, Potatoes) and a delicious dessert with pistachios. I arrived on a train at 5:30pm and walked the two blocks to my hotel (Hotel Berna). After getting settled, I did not want to go far for dinner and based on decent reviews, this place seemed perfect. As it turns out, I was better than decent. I got the grilled calamari antipasto, with the sirloin steak with endive secondi. Both were excellent - tender (not chewy), cooked correctly and flavorfully seasoned. I also got the mixed salad side which was fresh but fairly traditional. The only thing not excellent but still good was the house red wine by the glass. I've had much better house wine on this trip. I don't eat bread so can't comment. They gave me a complimentary plate of cookies at the end. Total bill came to 36 euros, which is very reasonable. I think this is a good choice when staying at a hotel in this area. read more

We may have just had a bad experience as the restaurant was pretty busy (which we assumed meant it should be at least decent) but this is one of the worst places I've eaten in recently. On the positive side, service was fine, the food was reasonably priced, and portions were huge. The starters were also not bad. We had eggplant parmigiana and pasta with meat ragu. They were both slightly stodgy but had quite pleasant flavours. However the chicken cutlet my partner ordered was raw in the middle and ended up giving him food poisoning, which for me is unforgivable for a restaurant. The waiter took it away and got him a fresh one but wasn't particularly apologetic about it. I also found my pizza very disappointing, although I was grateful it didn't pose a health hazard! It was by far the worst I had in Italy and most of the pizzas I've had in the UK, mainly because it seemed as if it was barely cooked. I would definitely avoid this restaurant. read more

We stopped here on our last night in Milan and boy are we glad we did! We had the margherita pizza and spaghetti with spicy sausage and both dishes were phenomenal! The pasta in Italy is truly different and this is a restaurant I can recommend to alot of friends! One thing I wasn't fond off was the $2 euro cover charge per person and the small can of coke was overpriced and it barely filled 12 ounces... Our favorite restaurant, by far, during our Milan vacation. The place is absolutely slammed on the weekends but they do a great job of getting you in/out (without rushing). The food is excellent, the service is very good, and the restaurant feels casual but very Milan. On our first dinner, we thoroughly enjoyed the 4-course seafood pre-fix menu (for 35 euros it's a steal), and on our return dinner we had salads for the appetizer (large and tasty) and pasta bolognese (excellent). 4 of us went there oct 30 2018 and ordered steak, lpork chops, osso bucco, and sea bass. The salad and bread were good. The sea bass wasnt sea bass and shrimp were over done and tough. Osso bucco only had 5 bites of meat . The steak was tough . The pork chops were over done powder like. The waiter left the table in the middle of ordering and then they didn't have the wine. we ordered and we switched , but then they bought an expensive bottle that we didnt order and we had to tell them it was not what we ordered. Staying at the Hotel Berna next door (great hotel) and noticed this place on our way to the Metro station. We decided to make this our dinner stop on our way back to the hotel. After a week in the Alps and some great meals including some excellent pizza I was really craving some pasta. The talgiatlelle bolognese was perfect. The pasta had a nice chewy consistency and the sauce was perfect. While you're at it get the polpette di bacala for an appetizer. read more
