I love an old school diner with good breakfast food. Fast service. Good food. What's not to like?

What an old school diner hidden right next to millet park! Very retro looks and feel on the inside. The service was very fast and friendly. They even show where former presidents sat at what booth inside the diner as well which is cool. I got miss Katie's skillet, very good and would recommend! Food came out fast and we had no complaints at all! Look forward to coming back!

Service was great considering that I was the only customer for about 15-20 minutes Food remained me of way it was done "back in the day" The restaurant looked like it's stuck in the " Happy Day's " era which is very cool, Prices are okay but for one it was ($18 +) rather expensive for breakfast I'd like to come back to try lunch / dinner in the near future

Fresh fruit and housemade bakery bites are included with your breakfast and served when you order to enjoy while you wait for your food.

Miss Katie's Diner is a Milwaukee institution and shares ownership with another Milwaukee institution, Pitch's. In fact, Mr. "Pitch" (it's actually short for a longer, Italian name that escapes me). I haven't dined here in many years, but I had plans to go to the public museum and wanted to get breakfast first, so I picked Miss Katie's. I walked in and noticed a fairly busy dining room, so I went to the dining counter, which was pretty much empty, aside from four other customers. I was given a glass of water and a menu right away and asked if I wanted to drink anything else besides water. I placed my order and quickly received a cup of fresh fruit with bite-sized pieces of fresh bakery, which is also made in-house. I ordered the housemade corned beef hash with eggs over easy and white toast. My eggs were over-done by a lot, but there was still a little yolk in them for me to dip my toast in, so I stuck with them. The corned beef was tender and had nice flavor, and the hashbrowns were also tasty. I didn't have to add salt or pepper to my dish, so that is a big plus. Richard, the man behind the counter, checked on me and when he was caught up and a few customers left, he engaged in light and friendly conversation with me. I had a nice experience, overall. Have I had better meals in town? Sure, but supporting places like this makes me happy, and my food tasted good, despite the eggs being overcooked. I still want to come to try lunch or dinner some day.

Great meatloaf! I'm not usually one for gravy but it added so much flavor to the meatloaf and mashed potatoes so I highly recommend it. Service was super fast and the waitress was so pleasant. I love the 1950s feel of this classic diner, and seeing orders of what politicians have visited and where they sat brings a unique atmosphere to this restaurant. I'd highly recommend it!

I've known of Miss Katie's Diner for a bit and glad to finally have tried it out! The menu is totally classic diner through and through for breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised that they brought out a small bowl of fruits with two pieces of soft coffee cake - seemed like a standard item they brought out to all tables (at least that morning). The decor has 1950's diner vibes. Luckily, I walked in and there was an open table available, the people after me were given a 20 minutes wait (not bad - but they were definitely busy on a Sunday). For those waiting, there is an adjoined bar. In the moment of browsing their breakfast menu - I forgot all about their milkshakes that they're supposed to be known for as well - unsure if they are available in the morning (perhaps that's why I didn't see them on the menu or if I could have asked). Overall, I had a good experience and with it being so close to Marquette - it seems like a solid spot for students to eat at regularly!

I stopped for lunch at 11:40 am on a Monday and I would say there were about 15 people in the restaurant. This is a large place, and the wait staff was right on top of it. No waiting around here. I ordered an open-faced hot turkey sandwich, and it was served on toasted Italian bread. It was also served with a small cup of cranberries. You could tell this was all homemade. The turkey was moist and meaty, the mashed potatoes were very good, they had a few lumps in it, but they were creamy and very buttery. Overall, this was a fantastic meal. Really up there as far as quality and taste. I will definitely be back; this was worth every penny.

Located on the edge of the Marquette University campus, Miss Katie's has become a must first stop for Democrat Presidential candidates campaigning in Wisconsin. After one visit, I can see why. In my many, many decades on this planet, and having eaten in over 60 countries, I don't think I've had a more pleasant server than Denise (?). Hopefully I remembered her name correctly. In a terrific mood, helpful with the menu, quick with drink refills and with no shortage of wisecracks on demand, it was a pleasure to be served by her. I went for the cheeseburger, the same one Michelle Obama ordered, and fresh cut fries. The bun was a superb substantial roll from one of the local Italian bakeries, and the oversized meat patty had great flavor, all beef, nothing else. Condiments were of your choice, and my basket came with tomato, lettuce and ample raw onion. Fresh cut fries were hot and crispy with a light dusting of some variety of seasoned salt. About 1/3 of the building is a dining room and the rest a bar with stools to belly up to. I loved this entire experience. I hope I get back. And I never, ever give five stars! Kudos to the kitchen, too!

Once inside, the friendly host staff will ask you for the password. Heck, if I can figure it out, anyone can. Then we were shown to the table. Riley, server, had greet us shortly after arriving. My friend order an Old Fashion (when you're in WI...) and I had ordered the Shamrock Shake with a shot of whiskey (we visited Milwaukee near St. Paddy's Day). Both of us ordered the Fish Fry. The drinks were delivered within a few minutes. The Shamrock Shake was certainly well worth it. Then few more minutes, the entrees were delivered. The three pieces of fish were very meaty and great crust. The well seasoned fries were very tasty. Riley had checked in couple of times with us. Great service, great food and great 80's music. We got a 1pm time slot for lunch on Saturday. We waited in the small crowded lobby once we checked in. Once our time came up we gave the password (I must have missed this part but I googled it while we waited) and were led inside. The concept was fun as was the decor but I thought it would be even more kitschy than it was. Our waiter was enthusiastic. The food menu is small but the milkshake and the boozy milkshake menu is big and interesting. The salted caramel milkshake was very good. I got their smash burger basket with the fries. I don't order smash burgers often and this was a reminder why. It was overcooked and dry. The fries though were excellent. My wife got a breakfast meal and she thought it was solid. The prices were reasonable but be warned they automatically tack on a 20% service charge. I was not surprised since I saw this in reviews. If it was on the menu I missed it. Worth one visit.

We quite literally came here straight from the airport. To make matters worse, we had not eaten anything substantial all day and had actually looked this restaurant up weeks before our trip while researching places to eat the infamous Wisconsin fish fry, so we were really looking forward to the experience. The experience started off poorly when our party was essentially scolded by the hostess for sitting at a table that apparently needed to be cleaned for the wait list. To make matters worse, the busser laughed and joked that we were "in trouble," to which I could only respond, "Sounds like it." Not exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for as a first time visitor. The fish fry was decent our tab came out to $150 for 5 people, but the service was absolutely subpar and our tip reflected that. We also had to send back two drink glasses because they were dirty one still had lipstick on it, and another had food stuck to the inside of the glass. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Between the unprofessional treatment, lackluster service, and cleanliness issues, I would not recommend stopping here. There are plenty of other restaurants worth trying instead.

Most restaurants charge way more than that and don't include fries, so this place is an amazing bargain! We got their cheese balls, which were cheese curds. These were not bad. I do prefer a more beer battered curd, but I didn't mind these. I also got a bacon cheeseburger called The Loser. In reality, it tastes like a winner. The bread bun is amazing, so soft and fresh. The burger is juicy and flavorful. It's also not too crazy big where all the toppings fall apart. The fries were also crispy and tasty. Our server was also very kind and attentive.
