I am very happy to see that this place is operating successfully even with the issues that most restaurants are having with the shortages on staffing. The server we had today was being trained and he did an excellent job. He was very attentive and on top of everything. He was also not afraid to ask the server who was training him if he was unsure of something on the menu. The food was great. I got the medium wings and the sauce had an excellent flavor, it was not bland at all, which is often a risk with this flavor. The Mozzarella sticks came out hot with the cheese gooey and melted. A little advice - the entrance for the restaurant itself is a little difficult to find if you park in the the first lot off of Baylea. To enter the restaurant make sure that you follow the signs and the pathway to get in. Also the parking lot is a little cramped as it gets busy. However, once you are in make sure to sit on the deck. Great place right on the water. Open air, tiki hut feel, with live music on some evenings and definitely on the weekends. We love this place. The fish tacos and calamari are our go to! Hidden gem. Although it has the look, feel and vibe of a dive bar, the food is even better than the usual. Seems like someone is taking things to the next level. Small touches like fries and ketchup are not normal bar fare. I had the grouper tacos with the black beans and rice. Amazing employee service. No complaints about the employees but service took forever. We were literally sitting there for 30 minutes for our food. But when we got the food it tasted so good. It was amazing. 10/10 would recommend the scallops. Also the French fries were AMAZING. They were all homemade and tasted amazing. Honestly I was going to give this place a four star review until I tried the food. 100% honestly would recommend. Staff: amazing, food: unspeakable, only complaint the time it takes. Went on Mother's Day (May 10, 2021). Sat for 30 minutes without being offered food/drinks. Younger brother had to go to the bar to ask for menu/drinks/server. When server did come, we were ready to order the full meal. Ordered pound of steam shrimp seasoned with Old Bay for Mom. It came COLD and UNSEASONED. Fish tacos (grilled fish) was moderate. Brother wanted fish bites but they had none so he ordered the fish dip. Fish dip was so bad even the stray cat who begs from customers coughed it back up. Also, dip didn't come with chips or enough saltine crackers. Didn't even get napkins til halfway through meal despite asking up front. Wasn't impressed like in 2019. We left after 1-hour dinner. Worse is that their regular male customer on a golf cart got so drunk with them that he hit my parked car with his golf cart by driving sideways into my bumper rather than straight forward, then went back inside and told them what he did. At that point, they had a duty to the damaged owner/customer. Did they make an announcement to the 10 customers eating? Did they get the driver license or insurance? NO. They did NOT make an announcement or report it to the owner/police, they DO have it on video, they DO have his contact information and they REFUSE to release the driver name, insurance or video to the owner. Not only does this place serve mediocre food and allows cats in the dining area but they also ENCOURAGE DRUNK DRIVING AND DRUNK HIT AND RUNS. AVOID this place the same way the cat avoided their fish dip. read more

Watch out if ordering a fish sandwich your bill will show up with a 19 dollar sandwhich that is frozen crap fish not Grouper. don't waste your money, we used to love this place but will never return. Used to come here somewhat frequently in its previous iteration a decade ago but haven't been back after moving out of state. I found it to be just as good as it was then. First time, last time. We went early-5:30ish, to beat crowds, then waited nearly an hour after ordering before our lukewarm food arrived. Item ordered with no pickles/onions had both; waitress apologized, took it to kitchen where they picked off a few and sent it back - still containing pickles and onions. Other dinners at the table were plentiful portions, but lukewarm. Waitress did ask if we wanted something else, but if it takes nearly an hour for it to arrive, why would we do that? It's nice to sit overlooking the river, but there are too many much better places to bother going here again. read more

There was my Grandson, Son and his Girlfriend and my self... To start with, my Grandson wanted a certain starter which they were out of... When our food finally came, my sons burger was missing the bacon and cheese, his girlfriend ordered Grouper nuggets which were only half cooked and mine came with fries when I asked for onion rings... Stopped in because I was searching for tiki environments. This has it. Cute little blue collar place tucked away at the end of a dead end street. My dining mate was like 'why did you turn in here.' I responded to him with 'because we are here.' Smoking is allowed all over and even under the tiki itself. However, if you are a cigar smoker they kick you out from underneath the tiki. I don't understand why? So you allow smokers to chain smoke throughout their meal, dessert, drinks and conversations..... but you don't let people smoke a cigar at all under the tiki? Explain that to me and make me understand why? Otherwise it seems very discriminatory. Sure, you get to choose what you do and don't allow but I can tell you this... almost every single cigar smoker I have ever met is FAR MORE POLITE than any smoker I have ever met. You don't see them flicking their ashes on the floor or putting them out in glasses. You don't see them blowing smoke all over their nearby diners unlike the lady sitting behind us while we ate lunch. When you sit at the bar and the person behind you is chain smoking like she is going to pass out if she doesn't have another smoke it's a problem. There are cats roaming through the restaurant with signs saying 'don't feed the cats.' The bartender was busy but not overly busy however she was acting as if she was WAY TOO BUSY to wait on us. Finally we ordered our semi over priced food and it was ok. And right then, as we were in the middle of our meal the bartender lit up a cigarette and started smoking behind the bar. Are you kidding me? That is disgusting on so many levels. It is a neat environment but we won't be back. It was way too smoky for an open air environment. People who are 'working' shouldn't be smoking on the job. Take it out back and have someone cover for you for 5 minutes. Better yet, wait until it is your break time to smoke and do it away from the customers. read more

Based on drinks only and the two stars are for the staff otherwise it would be a zero. The waitstaff hustle and are very attentive. The only think worse than the band (Baker Act) was the drinks. Anything that should be carbonated was flat. The beer, soda and tonic water. I had a dirty martini and it was basically olive juice. Best to stay with bottled beer. We like this place. The people who run it and work there are all very nice, upbeat and professional. The food is good quality and the servings are ample without being those huge platters that no place should be serving. Drinks are well-made. Prices are right on target. We've sat at both deck locations (one to either side of the bar) along the river. Very pleasant. Terrible experience. Nice atmosphere but the food and drink was horrible. We got a nacho platter which came in a basket for $13. Barely and meat on it and the refried beans were just plopped on the top in a blob like it was still in the shape of the can. 2 of us got frozen drinks for $10 each which is normal price if only it wasn't a glass of chunks of ice. Our worse dinner experience there. There were six of us (family) to celebrate my husbands birthday. We knew there were problems when the manager told the table near us that their order never got put in and it would be another hour. Really? My son-in-law ordered his meal with ranch on the side. It came with ranch inside wrap. Ordered again. 33 minutes after all of us had eaten and my husband plus kids went to the car to listen to hockey game his meal came. Again with ranch. Manager on duty didn't even know there was a problem at our table. Table next to us got their meals delivered at different times. They complained. Luckily manager comped our meal but we still needed to go thru drive thru McDonalds. He enjoyed this much more. read more

We were in search of a seafood restaurant open on Mother's Day, right after the state opened indoor seating after Coronavirus shutdowns. We found this place and decided to give it a try. Boy were we BLOWN AWAY. The food was excellent and definitely worth the price. (Not that it's pricey) I personally had a blackened grouper sandwich with a side of broccoli. It was so tasty and looked good too. The setting is beautiful. From the outside it was actually almost a turn off, I was a little worried. But "inside" (I believe it's actually all outdoors, tiki bar covered and some areas on the dock with no covering) was so pretty, and right on the river like the name says. Boaters, kayakers, and paddle boarders on the Cotee(?) river can dock and get drinks and food here. The service was phenomenal. Our server Jolene was so sweet, funny, and informative. She gave great recommendations, and she did a really good job at putting up with our party (sometimes we can be too much). Jolene told us they have live music, too. The bartender made anything came up with. Even the sweet tea was really good. We want to go back and see live music and try more things on their menu. 10/10 recommend!!!!! read more

Our server, Stephanie, was excellent. She recommend the smoked fish dip and it was delicious. I had the fish and chips. They batter was light and not very greasy. My husband had the fish Reuben.
