    Spot prawn tasting menu

Located in an industrial area next to Trove which isn't so bad for you car peeps out there! Good thing is there is plenty of parking! The restaurant is modem yet cozy with an upscale cool modern vibe to it. The kitchen is open for all to see what goes into the prep of these fine dishes. The tasting menu this month was spotted prawn lucky me and the boys! Hubby opted for the regular tasting menu as he's allergic to anything shrimp related. Since the menu will soon change as it will once a month I will just tell you that each plate is unique, the flavours are well balanced and everything was super fresh and the attention to detail is superb. Service was excellent and not pretentious. Eduardo is also a sommelier but we don't drink and he was great about it. Some are not and ignore their guests for the rest of the evening. My favourite dish this evening was the spot prawn ravioli and the prawns, duck and grilled peaches. But the two standouts were the taro foam dish as it reminded me of my moms favourite dim sum dish of steamed taro with green onions and lapchong only deconstructed. The other was the bird's nest dessert. These are both familiar in terms of classic Chinese dishes but with a modern twist that works well. Chef did an amazing job of combining French and Italian and Asian cooking! Can't wait to return. There is also a vip dining room upstairs that seats 10 so you and all your friends can enjoy this gem too! $1000 min spend in the VIP room. Set menus for 6 course is $138 for 5 course is $119. Our spot prawn set dinner with wine pairings is $198 pp

A great addition to the Richmond dining scene. It is situated on Wireless Way which is mostly offices and factories. It is a small place which offers a 5 or 6-course tasting menu. We opted for the 6-course menu, which added a plate of halibut for roughly $20 more. Our dining experience was amazing. We were greeted at the door by the owner, who made sure to ask us throughout the night how things were going. Well, thing were going absolutely well. Each dish was absolutely beautiful and delicious too! I hope my photos do it justice. We will return!

Pricy? Yes. Worth it? Also yes. Missing Chopsticks offers a $138/person 6-course meal. The tasting menu is changed often so you get the chance to try different menu items. We went in Sept and we were not disappointed with our meal. Menu is mostly Asian but with serve with a twist which elevated each dish. Our fave is the wagyu beef and the hamachi. The only complaint I have will be the space, the tables are a little too close by the time we finished dinner, I know the dating history of the girls sitting next to us. They were not talking very loudly but because of how close the tables are, i can hear their conversation. Aside from that, this is a great place to try if you want something fancy but served with a twist.

Came here with friends during dine out. Great food! Excellent service! Parking is easy and free. A gem in Richmond. Highly recommended!

Modern interior suits the location and the theme of nouveau fusion of Chinese and French cooking. A nice addition to the Richmond dining landscape but a bit pricey. I enjoyed the Hokkaido scallop and the prawn toast. I was told that the menu will change on a regular basis.

Wanted to like this place but couldn't. Everyone trying hard but haven't had much luck with the food. Why is it so hard to find a good French inspired in Richmond?

All the spots in this complex have a restaurant name on them, and we could not find any with Cherry Food House on them. I noticed everyone just parked anywhere, regardless of which restaurant. This place is busy! I would suggest booking ahead. Service is very friendly but hard to flag down because they are busy. The call button at the table didn't work. The food has big portions, especially the big pots. Normal price could be around $50+, but the budaejjigae is $37 here, and the pan was wide and deep. However, the downside was the taste. It does taste like normal Korean food, and things are a bit off. The budaejjigae feels like it didn't have dashi in it. The seafood green onion pancake was 90% imitation crab. Pajeons are supposed to be mainly green onion, but this felt like a cake of imitation crab only. Maybe a couple of pieces of green onion, cuttlefish, and shrimp. The fried chicken was ok. They serve free dessert at the end - feels like some pudding with sweet syrup. If you don't mind about taste and just want a lot of food for cheap then this is for you.

The taste of every dish is not horribly bad but it fails authenticity. I came with expectations for Korean but was disappointed. *Kalbi: cut of beef is not the good cut as it is thicker and is fatty. This cut is often seen in Chinese grocery store where it's cheaper, fattier and thicker. Also, it not marinated well. *Seafood Pancake: presented nicely - height of dish seems thicker than ordinary. Imitation crab was used to make the swirls on top. I love the crunchiness but then again taste is not quite there. *Deep Fried Mini Crab: interesting dish that's typical of salt and pepper fried dishes in Chinese restaurants. *Pork Bone Hot Pot: I love the straw and shimeji mushrooms added to it. The pork bone is very tender but there's a spice lacking. *Kimchi: tastes sweet without much of the spicy goodness of real kimchi. I like the wide table size that accommodates all the dishes and the side dishes. Servers were attentive.

I've been here twice, and both times the food has been flavorful and satisfying. Their momos are juicy and packed with flavor, and the noodles bring just the right amount of spice. The place recently made some changes, so the taste may have slightly shifted, but it's still a solid spot to satisfy those Indo-Chinese cravings. The ambience is simple and fuss-free, focusing more on the food. I highly recommend the veg chop suey--it's absolutely delicious and a personal favorite!

We ordered the chilli garlic fried rice and chili chicken and liked both of them a lot! They both had a slight kick to them which we really enjoyed. The only negative that I experienced was that they brought our chili garlic noodles first, which we let them know was not what we ordered, so we had to wait for the fried rice. Then we got the fried rice but we waited for about 10 min for a chili chicken to arrive only to realize they forgot to put that order in. I think this would have been fine if the place was busy or we had ordered many items. But we only ordered 4 items out of which 2 of them were wrong or forgotten so I think the service could be more attentive! The service was very friendly otherwise. We enjoyed the food and are looking forward to returning and trying other items.

The restaurant was full for dinner so that is always a good sign! We ordered the xiao long bao, honey mustard prawn balls, shredded tofu with cordyceps flower and lettuce, and fried eel with oil. The fried eel dish has tinny slither of eel meat that is braised in a sweet soy sauce. It was soo good with a big bowl of rice - the rice just soaks up the sauce perfectly! And I love that it is deboned! There were so many dishes we wanted to try from the menu that we didn't get to this visit but we hope to be back again!

Since this was our first time dining here, the servers explained some of the items on the menu. They are very kind and very honest. The food however was only okay. My favorite was the noodle dish with the chili chicken. That was probably the best dish. The chicken was tender, slightly spicy, slightly sweet and flavorful. It came with a decent amount of noodles. I tried both the salty and the sweet homemade tofu pudding. The tofu was so silky and soft and smooth. I preferred the savory one, although I skipped out on the chili oil. I feel like next time I will get it with chili oil. The XLB was only okay. Unfortunately, I did not find it very flavorful. The Yangzhou style layer cake was okay. A little plain but it had a nice sweetness and I liked the little bits on top. Would I come back? Sure if an event called for it. Maybe I didn't order the right items but they have a lot on their menu so I would like to go back one day to maybe try some of their more popular items.

While it wasn't a ridiculously long wait, it did take a while despite there not being many customers. I do feel like the service and ambiance was lacking a bit. While I was there a bit later in the evening around 8pm, one of the workers started vacuuming, and from reviews it seems like they do free ice cream but I was never offered or made aware. I'm not sure I would come back since there are better options in Richmond. Other fast food malatang spots have better service, consistency, and speed. Not to mention this spot is actually more expensive than Big Way at $19.90/lb!
