    Peya's Cornish Hen
    Judy J.

What an amazing meal. Everything from the decor to the plating was well executed. Fusion Indian French. Their dishes come with the familiar Indian spice kick but not to the point where everything is burning your mouth off. I was also pleasantly surprised how not greasy everything was. Servers were pleasant and seemed knowledgeable about the menu and gave some great recommendations. Drinks were beautiful. For a mocktail, the My Pet Elephant was excellent. Filled with coconut water, it kept getting better and the Mumbai Mule was a nice choice. Was surprised to see pop rocks in there. Elk Tartare- reasonable serving of Tartare- not super gamey tasting. One thing I would change is the extremely thin phyllo that accompanied it. It just wasn't strong enough to offer any kind of secure vessel to hold the elk on. I'd opt for something stronger. Spiced Duck Kulcha was the surprise star for us. The bread was thin, moist & paired so well with the pineapple raita. The raita was delicious. I wish it came with more. Cornish Hen was cooked perfectly with crispy skin, juice meat inside & a creamy butter sauce. Very reminiscent of Indian butter chicken but elevated. Naan was ok but if I had a redo, I'd just get the Kulcha and skip on the naan. Not bad but for bread option, the kulcha definitely fared better. Great place to go for a drink and indulge in French inspired Indian fare.

Went to try this interesting fusion of French & Indian cuisine. We started with cocktails Mumbai Mule and Saffron Sazarec and mine looked like a birthday cake in a cocktail form which was appropro as went to celebrate a birthday. We ordered their fig and goat cheese samosas which had phillo pastry and the green chutney on the side, very good w/ the right amount of crispiness to it. We also ordered lamb liver moose which I wasn't sure how it would taste and it was unique. It came with crackers with blueberry compote to balance the flavor of the liver. We also ordered the spiced duck kulcha as not a combo you come across at restaurants that have kulcha on the menu. We also ordered the chai crème brûlée which was a delicious take on kheerni (Indian dessert made with rice milk). We didn't try anything from the entrees as had leftovers from the appetizers. The aesthetics of the restaurant is gorgeous, sexy vibe so if you're looking for a great date night spot, this is a good option, on the pricey side but what isn't these days?

5/5 for Indian and 3/5 for French only because the Indian spices were so strong that they overpowered the French flavours. I would not consider this restaurant truly Indian-French fusion, however, the restaurant did an amazing job using French ingredients (rabbit, duck, etc.) in Indian cuisine. Overall I enjoyed my meal here and would recommend this place especially for date night as the restaurant is modern and sleek.

    Awesome decor!

Simply Awesome! Peya knocked it outta the park with their menu and decor. Everything was top-notch. Parisian + Indian fusion. The decor was inspiring. Drinks in an elephant cup, yes please. Food was incredible. See photos for details. Don't miss out on their sides, simple sounding but must try. The Dahl and naan cannot be missed! Have already been back a couple times and they've just opened! Highly recommend. Lovely service.

The service was good, the food was both interesting and good. The vibe was very chill. All in all, a very enjoyable dinner.

Don't dig in right when it is served. Give the fries a chance to soak up the juicy gravy. Trust me, waaaait! It's hands down the best poutine. The cheese is a secret blend. Delectable! The space is much nicer, with high ceilings and lots of light - great looking bistro. I ended up trying the following: - Mussels: Very good. Classic dish, but I really like the use of cream in the broth. - Bánh Mì Cay Hải Phòng (Spicy Baguette Sticks): Good. A nice little snack, although it would be easy to recreate at home. - Lamb Chops: Very good. Cooked just right, and the pepper sauce added extra flavour. - Fried Frog Legs: Very good. This was probably the surprise dish for me. They weren't just the legs, but the entire bottom of the frog, so the pieces were huge. The garlic, butter and chili flakes gave it a extra punch. I really enjoyed this one. - Pho Bo: Good. Not the best pho I've had, but it's good enough to stand on it's own. Service was quite good. Very cheerful and quite attentive. Overall a nice meal. It's a great space, the food is solid, and service to match. What I really like is having the variety of both French and Vietnamese dishes, without either of them suffering in quality. Only downside is that is it expensive for what you get.

The front of the house/bar area seems to be more vibrant colours with the bright pop of red which ties into the rugs in the main dining area. I'd probably remove the second rug but if I had to guess, I'd say red may be Feenie's favourite colour as it is a touch out of place. With Michelin stars making their debut in Vancouver only a few years ago, it seems that perhaps Le Crocodile may be gunning for a star as much of the Lower Mainland seems to be. The level of service is excellent; friendly and speedy, everything you could ever want. The food is elevated but has more non-french or fusion themes going on than before. The foie gras terrine topped with cherries is the perfect combo of sweet and creamy; the brioche really brings it home. The French onion soup is gooey and rich with depth of flavour however the cheese had a bit too much of a smoky burnt taste as opposed to a charred broil. The dover sole was perfectly de-boned at table side and my mouth was watering while watching. It could've used a touch more seasoning but other than that the sides made it so elegantly French that it brought tears to my eyes. I could have done with a touch less beurre blanc as it was almost on the verge of drowning the beautiful dover sole. The presentation of Le Crocodile's dishes are truly Michelin level. I thoroughly enjoyed the medium-rare veal with what seemed to be home-made pasta and the sauce that raised it to the next level. Desserts were great and although the mini chocolates at the end are no longer in a crocodile shape they do have a decorative gold crocodile made by no other than Thomas Haas which brings in the local vibes. There were tiny things such as the scratched bread plates, the loose tea on the tea pot lid, and a small fibre in the menu which are going to be the very difference between staying at this high level and gaining a star that will need to have more attention to detail. With all that said, I'd still recommend anyone who loves French cuisine to make sure to stop by this spot.

It has always been a restaurant we could rely on for exceptional food, outstanding service, and an unforgettable view. Once again, the staff accommodated us with a fantastic table, and we sincerely appreciate their hospitality. Unfortunately, we arrived unaware that the restaurant had introduced an entirely new menu. The concept is a significant departure from its previous offerings, moving toward a more modern, nouvelle cuisine style with elements of fusion and a tasting-menu approach. We decided to stay with an open mind and give the new direction a fair chance. One aspect we found confusing was the menu itself. It displayed pricing only for the three- and four-course prix fixe options, along with a tasting menu, but no à la carte prices. When we inquired, we were told that à la carte ordering was available, although the explanation felt somewhat reluctant and did not make for the best first impression. We ultimately chose the three-course dinner. While the food was well prepared and flavorful, the value was among the poorest we have experienced at a fine dining restaurant. For example, one main course consisted of two small strips of Wagyu beef (approximately 2-3 ounces), a few dollops of foam, and a single asparagus floret. The other main courses were similarly modest in portion, and the appetizers were little more than a few bites. To the restaurant's credit, the service remained exceptional throughout the evening. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, maintaining the high standard we have always associated with this establishment. Our biggest disappointment was not the quality of the food, but the overall value and direction of the dining experience. The emphasis now seems to be on artistic presentation and culinary theatrics rather than delivering a satisfying meal that justifies the price. While some diners may appreciate this style of dining, it simply did not meet our expectations based on our many previous visits. This experience was a reminder that even long-time favorites can change significantly. In the future, we'll be sure to review the menu before making a reservation. Sadly, despite many wonderful memories here, this visit left us disappointed, and we do not plan to return.
