I visit this Mission BBQ atleast twice a month and I always receive great service. Yesterday l ordered ribs and macaroni and cheese. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and flavorful. The macaroni and cheese was very good. My meal came with cornbread and a beverage. I selected Sweet Tea as my drink. The tea tasted homemade. It was sweet and really complimented my meal. I took my order to go but noted that the dining room was very clean. My father, several of my close family members, and friends are veterans. I love how Mission BBQ honors military service. I highly recommend this location and I will definitely return.

It is always a joy to visit Mission Bbq yet I hardly visit this place. I always like the ambiance & decor. I usually order Mac and cheese or green beans here with a soft drink. This time I got a brisket sandwich, a birthday free reward. I didn't feel like ordering anything else this time and it was fine with them. I got samples of each of their barbecue sauce to try on my sandwich. Service was amazing and took care of me well.

Last week we visited Mission Barbecue. We had been here once before, a few years back. Both times we have had a very good meal. Mission is a large airy restaurant with plenty of seating. You order at the counter, and then they quickly, and I mean quickly, prepare your order which you pick up at a different area at the counter. Highly recommended is the Meat Sampler as an entree, available with either 2 or 3 meats.. The brisket, pulled pork, and sausage were all tasty. The sausage was especially tasty! I also highly recommend the cornbread. This is some of the best cornbread I have ever had, not too sweet and with a great texture. We also ordered the Half a Yard Bird. The chicken was somewhere between okay and good. I didn't totally like the seasonings. The other sides we ordered were the coleslaw (which Mission calls "cold slaw") and baked beans. The lightly creamed coleslaw, with a good mix of vegetables was excellent, not too sweet and not too tart. The beans were very good, just a bit on the spicy side. Mission is a good dinner bet in the Hilltop neighborhood!

The brisket is incredible (moist) and a great single person portion. The mac & cheese is also noteworthy. The corn bread is on the drier side but pairs well with the meal and comes with your order. Staff at this location are very friendly and food comes out fast.

So, I finally hit up Mission BBQ and holy smokes(no pun intended) , it was good! I went for the fatty brisket and I choose fatty over lean for the melt-in-your-mouth experience. And you know I'm a sucker for good sides, so I was super happy with their mac and cheese too! The pulled chicken was a little saltier than I usually go for, but honestly, it barely registered after how incredible that brisket was. Definitely go check it out if you're looking for some american style BBQ!

This restaurant is military themed. They have veteran parking up front and there is military memorabilia and photos all over the dining area. Everyday, at noon, they play the national anthem. I thought they would offer military discount, but they don't. They have a large dining area that had some pretty loud music playing throughout. The staff was friendly and helpful enough, but I will admit, my interaction with them was very limited. It is located in a small strip mall so there is more than enough parking free available in the lot. They serve your barbecue favorites that include brisket, pulled pork, sausage, burgers, turkey, salmon, and chicken. They have fries, cole slaw, baked beans, green beans, and mac & cheese as sides. I ordered the brisket sandwich, which comes wet or lean. Wet has more fat and juice. I got the lean. I also got a side of the baked beans. My food was ready right away. My meal was delicious. They had a full compliment of condiments available including 6 varieties of barbecue sauces (Texas Twang, Tupelo Honey Heat, KC Classic, Smokey Mountain, Memphis Belle, and Bay-B-Que). The brisket was cooked just right and was very tasty. The beans were as well and had some meat in them. I really enjoyed my meal here and highly recommend checking this restaurant out.

Was craving some Mission BBQ!! So decided to stop on my way home and pick up some dinner. Wish. Restaurant was closer to me!! ;(((( Was disappointed to hear their sides change seasonality because I had my mind set on some of their potato salad. Nonetheless-everything I ordered I enjoyed. Would definitely come here again!! Good food, clean restaurant and service with a smile...what more can you ask for?!!?

Brisket sandwich was delicious. Plenty of fries for my son. He had a special dessert courtesy of staff. Mission BBQ brings back the good memories of being in the military. I was able to show my son the Marine Corps flag. Highly recommend this location for any veteran looking for good BBQ meat.

Despite there being a dinner rush, there were plenty of cashiers taking orders. The menu was self explanatory, everything was clean, plenty of seating and the FOOD was quick to come out and t'was delicious! The tables all had (6) optional sauces for your convenience with built in paper towel holders for those messy meals. The downs: - beans were nothing exciting - corn bread isn't the sweetest thing on Earth (for those of you who like it sweet) Overall: Great!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Some of the best traditional American Barbecue that you will find anywhere around here! Also, if you have a lack of patriotism, you will feel out of place when all are called to stand for the National Anthem...especially at locations near military bases like this one. On that note, a patriotic note to all - remember that whether you are a fan of the military or not, every single member of our military contributes to protecting our individual rights and freedoms in the United States of America...and some pay with their lives. Don't take that lightly. I for one appreciate all that each member of the military does from the bottom of my heart. My hat is off to you, and thank you for your service and sacrifice! Keep up the great work Mission BBQ!

My go to lunch chain in the DC area. I've never had a bad experience at Mission BBQ. I've visited at least a dozen locations and always have excellent food and service which is rare. I've tried almost the full menu, my top choices are pulled pork and turkey!

Brisket, baked beans, and cornbread

Mission BBQ always can fix a craving for BBQ. Brisket has good juicy flavor but a few pieces were a bit too tough. Baked beans surprisingly packed a real flavor punch. Tangy sweet, yet with a kick at the end. Cornbread was a nice free add on to the meal.

The service was super attentive and helpful when we were making our choices on what we should get. It had a kind of divvy vibe to it which was awesome and makes it that much better! The burger that I had was cooked perfectly and I added the OG BBQ sauce with it and a side of Mac-n-cheese. I will say though, the mac-n-cheese was pretty disappointing, was a bit too starchy and there didn't seem to be really much cheese with it. So if you go to get the awesome burger, just get fries. We also got some char-grilled oysters that might have had a bit too much spices and seasoning on it that it got quite overwhelming. But summing it up, burgers were amazing, sides we underwhelming, make sure you get the OG BBQ sauce on your burger though!

You have to order your food from the front register so no waiter (which is fine) we ordered some bbq tacos, BBQ chicken eggrolls, BBQ tot nachos, key lime pie and bread pudding along with cherry cola and sweet tea. In our honest opinion the only items that were good were the BBQ chicken eggrolls and the cherry cola. Everything was subpar. The key pie was grainy and lacked key lime flavor. The bread pudding was overly sweet and was very hard to eat. My BBQ tots were odd. The cheese sauce that was used tasted pastey and lacked flavor. The BBQ meat that was added to the nachos didnt add any flavor or depthness to the nachos. Lastly the tacos were flavorless, had to cover in the Chipotle BBQ sauce to eat them. Unfortunately the food made us both sick an hour after eating it. We both had upset stomachs. Im not sure what was the items that caused out stomachs to do that but I will not be going back to this place.

We were close by and this is what they chose. Now, I'm a Midwesterner that lives in a vinegar state so I wasn't exactly excited to try it but did want to give it a shot. I died as It was the most uncooked BBQ I've ever eaten. The burnt ends were infact not burnt nor KC style. You can see the fat caps. There was absolutely no flavor, the brisket was dry, same as the sliced turkey. My friend doesn't eat pork (I do) so we decided on 2 carbs as the greens and baked beans have pork. The Mac was literally trash. They use a roux. You can taste the uncooked flour in the cheese sauce and the potato salad are Yukons' cut in half tossed in unseasoned mayo and dill. I was very disappointed. I did try the Original, Sweet, and Smokey sauces as i'm a Midwesterner and hate Carolina vinegar based sauce. They were actually really good. I mixed the sweet with the spicy and it gave great flavor. The sad part is that the Cornbread was the best thing we ate in the whole plate. If you're a Q person I'd not recommend this establishment. Its definitely not worth the time or effort. However, if you're a local then support the business. I probably won't be back simply because the customer service experience was sub par and I'm a MAC girl.

Omg the Pork Belly was the star of the show---it was so sticky and sweet, the eggs and potatoes were pretty good, nothing extortionary. I was a bit skeptical about the eggs being from a carton, since I didn't see any white in the eggs. The chicken was so greasy and slightly soggy on the bottom. I don't think I'd order that again, the waffles were pretty good. I feel like the chicken and waffles are just great for show, in my opinion that dish didn't really deliver what I thought it would.
