Mission BBQ was the best choice for our office get together! The food was fresh, flavorful, and set-up with ease. The brisket was tender, the pulled pork was packed with flavor, and the sides were just as impressive. A special thank you to Julissa, who was our point of contact. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Kayla delivered our order and her customer service was incomparable. Her outstanding customer service made an already great experience even better. We appreciated how Mission BBQ honors our military and their families. It's clear they care about both their customers and the community. Great food, exceptional service, and a meaningful mission. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend Mission BBQ!

Always delicious food here and good portions. Fast Service as well. A cute area and the staff is attentive

It is always a joy to visit Mission Bbq yet I hardly visit this place. I always like the ambiance & decor. I usually order Mac and cheese or green beans here with a soft drink. This time I got a brisket sandwich, a birthday free reward. I didn't feel like ordering anything else this time and it was fine with them. I got samples of each of their barbecue sauce to try on my sandwich. Service was amazing and took care of me well.

Last week we visited Mission Barbecue. We had been here once before, a few years back. Both times we have had a very good meal. Mission is a large airy restaurant with plenty of seating. You order at the counter, and then they quickly, and I mean quickly, prepare your order which you pick up at a different area at the counter. Highly recommended is the Meat Sampler as an entree, available with either 2 or 3 meats.. The brisket, pulled pork, and sausage were all tasty. The sausage was especially tasty! I also highly recommend the cornbread. This is some of the best cornbread I have ever had, not too sweet and with a great texture. We also ordered the Half a Yard Bird. The chicken was somewhere between okay and good. I didn't totally like the seasonings. The other sides we ordered were the coleslaw (which Mission calls "cold slaw") and baked beans. The lightly creamed coleslaw, with a good mix of vegetables was excellent, not too sweet and not too tart. The beans were very good, just a bit on the spicy side. Mission is a good dinner bet in the Hilltop neighborhood!

The brisket is incredible (moist) and a great single person portion. The mac & cheese is also noteworthy. The corn bread is on the drier side but pairs well with the meal and comes with your order. Staff at this location are very friendly and food comes out fast.

So, I finally hit up Mission BBQ and holy smokes(no pun intended) , it was good! I went for the fatty brisket and I choose fatty over lean for the melt-in-your-mouth experience. And you know I'm a sucker for good sides, so I was super happy with their mac and cheese too! The pulled chicken was a little saltier than I usually go for, but honestly, it barely registered after how incredible that brisket was. Definitely go check it out if you're looking for some american style BBQ!

This restaurant is military themed. They have veteran parking up front and there is military memorabilia and photos all over the dining area. Everyday, at noon, they play the national anthem. I thought they would offer military discount, but they don't. They have a large dining area that had some pretty loud music playing throughout. The staff was friendly and helpful enough, but I will admit, my interaction with them was very limited. It is located in a small strip mall so there is more than enough parking free available in the lot. They serve your barbecue favorites that include brisket, pulled pork, sausage, burgers, turkey, salmon, and chicken. They have fries, cole slaw, baked beans, green beans, and mac & cheese as sides. I ordered the brisket sandwich, which comes wet or lean. Wet has more fat and juice. I got the lean. I also got a side of the baked beans. My food was ready right away. My meal was delicious. They had a full compliment of condiments available including 6 varieties of barbecue sauces (Texas Twang, Tupelo Honey Heat, KC Classic, Smokey Mountain, Memphis Belle, and Bay-B-Que). The brisket was cooked just right and was very tasty. The beans were as well and had some meat in them. I really enjoyed my meal here and highly recommend checking this restaurant out.

Was craving some Mission BBQ!! So decided to stop on my way home and pick up some dinner. Wish. Restaurant was closer to me!! ;(((( Was disappointed to hear their sides change seasonality because I had my mind set on some of their potato salad. Nonetheless-everything I ordered I enjoyed. Would definitely come here again!! Good food, clean restaurant and service with a smile...what more can you ask for?!!?

Brisket sandwich was delicious. Plenty of fries for my son. He had a special dessert courtesy of staff. Mission BBQ brings back the good memories of being in the military. I was able to show my son the Marine Corps flag. Highly recommend this location for any veteran looking for good BBQ meat.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Some of the best traditional American Barbecue that you will find anywhere around here! Also, if you have a lack of patriotism, you will feel out of place when all are called to stand for the National Anthem...especially at locations near military bases like this one. On that note, a patriotic note to all - remember that whether you are a fan of the military or not, every single member of our military contributes to protecting our individual rights and freedoms in the United States of America...and some pay with their lives. Don't take that lightly. I for one appreciate all that each member of the military does from the bottom of my heart. My hat is off to you, and thank you for your service and sacrifice! Keep up the great work Mission BBQ!

Despite there being a dinner rush, there were plenty of cashiers taking orders. The menu was self explanatory, everything was clean, plenty of seating and the FOOD was quick to come out and t'was delicious! The tables all had (6) optional sauces for your convenience with built in paper towel holders for those messy meals. The downs: - beans were nothing exciting - corn bread isn't the sweetest thing on Earth (for those of you who like it sweet) Overall: Great!

My go to lunch chain in the DC area. I've never had a bad experience at Mission BBQ. I've visited at least a dozen locations and always have excellent food and service which is rare. I've tried almost the full menu, my top choices are pulled pork and turkey!

We most recently went to visit this location on a Friday night. The place was pretty packed with a long line. However, the line moved fast so we didn't wait long at all. The service was great! The employee at the cash register was really patient with taking our multiple orders. When our order was ready, another staff member showed us what was each in box to make sure our order was correct. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, collard greens, kid's rib meal with mac and cheese, and 3 meat platter, along with 2 drinks. Our total was around $42. The food was tasty and the portions sizes are big enough to get you full! I was even able the find my favorite drink that I can usually only get in the Midwest. There are also options for 6 different barbecue sauces, which are all very tasty, just depending on your preferences. The shopping center where the restaurant is located can get pretty busy so the parking lot was crowded. But we were able to find a parking spot. We will def return!

I ordered the two-meat meal with pulled pork and brisket, fiery mac & cheese, sweet BBQ baked beans, and cornbread, plus an iced tea. With tip, the total was $32.04. At that price, I expected a genuinely good BBQ meal. Instead, I left wondering how a place known for BBQ could miss the mark so badly on the meat. The pulled pork was simply bland. There wasn't much smoke or seasoning coming through, and very little about it stood out. The one positive: it wasn't dry. Then there was the brisket, which was by far the biggest disappointment of the meal. It was sliced extremely thin--almost like lunch meat--and had quite a bit of fat that didn't appear to have rendered properly. Yet somehow, despite all that fat, the meat itself was incredibly dry. Good brisket should be tender, juicy, and have properly rendered fat. This was none of those things. Quite frankly, it was some of the worst brisket I've had in years. Ironically, the BBQ sauces were considerably better than the BBQ. You get a choice of Original, Honey Chipotle, and North Carolina Vinegar. I really enjoyed the spicy, smoky-sweet flavor of the Honey Chipotle, but the Original was easily my favorite. That sauce was excellent, and I'd happily put it on another meal. The sides were a mixed bag. The sweet BBQ baked beans were decent and had good flavor. Nothing extraordinary, but I enjoyed them. The fiery mac & cheese had potential. I liked the heat from the jalapeños, but the cheese sauce had a noticeably grainy texture. Whether that came from the way it was prepared or how it was reheated, I don't know, but good mac & cheese should have a smooth, creamy, silky cheese sauce. This didn't. And then, surprisingly, we get to the best thing on the entire tray: the cornbread. I really liked that they put whole corn kernels in it, and the cornbread had great flavor. In fact, it was the only item on my tray that I finished completely. Unfortunately, it appeared to have been reheated--presumably in a microwave--which made some of the corn kernels chewy. Honestly, I would have preferred it served at room temperature. Still, it was easily the highlight of the meal. Even the iced tea managed to disappoint. I initially mixed the sweet and unsweetened teas, but after realizing I couldn't taste much sweetness, I went back and filled my glass with 100% sweet tea. It still wasn't sweet. Maybe the containers were accidentally switched that day, but whatever was labeled "sweet tea" definitely wasn't. For $32.04, I expected much better. When you're selling BBQ, the smoked meats need to be the reason people come back--not something that has to be rescued by sauce. There were some bright spots here: the Original BBQ sauce was excellent, the beans were good, and the cornbread was genuinely enjoyable. But those things can't make up for bland pulled pork and especially dry, poorly rendered brisket sliced like deli meat. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on the meal I was served, I wouldn't return. And I definitely wouldn't call it "the best BBQ."

I decided on the Build-A-Combo 2 meat platter. They also have a 3 meat platter, but I can assure you that the 2 meat platter will more than fill you up. For my order I opted for the pulled chicken and pulled pork. For sides, I went with the beans and mac & cheese. The size of the meat servings was hefty. Both meats were delicious, but I had a slight preference for the chicken. They have several sauces to slather onto you meat. My favorite was the Sweet. The others were also tasty, though I was less enamored with the mustard sauce. I enjoyed the mac & cheese even though it was spicier than expected. I especially liked the texture of the macaroni. The cornbread muffin was excellent, though their recipe might have a touch too much shortening because the muffin started to crumble when I buttered it. Still, the muffin was delicious. The only dish I didn't like were the beans. I didn't recognize their seasoning and they just didn't taste good. Best ive ever had. And those poboys are great too. I got a oyster/crawfish combo. Very generously stuffed.

(We were chagred extra due to us being a large party) I got their gumbo and their soup of the day, I believe it was like a crab bisque. There was only one server but it wasn't busy so we were able to get our orders in on a timely fashion. I've tried their sweet potato biscuit and I personally didn't like it. Their cornbread biscuit was good though. I was going to get their fried chicken but was told by my peer that their fried chicken was a day old? So she opt out of that and so did I. Other than that their food looked delicious and I wished I tried their Mac and cheese cause my peers said it was delicious. Their portions are huge. They don't like likey they are but it's a lot of food.

I had a lovely time at Ada's. I went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. There weren't any…read morereservations available so I chose to sit at the bar. I was greeted by a nice young gentleman. I can't remember his name but he and his partner Wynn gave impeccable customer service. I started out with an Orange Wave to drink while I waited for my sister. She was about 30 mins late. I wasn't rushed and I didn't feel uncomfortable waiting for her to arrive. I chose the lobster omelette. It came with potatoes and a mixed salad. The potatoes were crispy and the lobster was nice and buttery. The atmosphere was lively. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and you never know what local celebrity you may see. 10/10

Our server, Ambar, was wonderful! She even let us sample their mocktail of the day, which was really good. I ended up ordering the Yuzu Jalapeño Mule Mocktail--DELICIOUS! My wife and I shared the ricotta and lemon pancakes, Cobb salad, and a side of eggs. Everything was a solid 9/10, but those pancakes?! 100/10! They were so moist, fluffy, and packed with flavor--and did I mention they were HUGE?! I originally thought I was going to order the smoked swordfish, but my eyes and my tummy clearly had different plans because I was completely stuffed afterward! The pancakes, eggs, and salad were more than enough for us to share. The space is absolutely beautiful, clean, and I loved the decor. I also really appreciate learning about the Ada and the STEM scholarship they provide to girls in Alexandria each year. I love when a business gives back to the community! I'm already planning my next visit for dinner--and I mean SOONER rather than later!
